Reading by the lake

Kailey listened to the conversation about going to the borely mansion. She had heard about that place, she had planned to stay away from it....but it seemed as if she might do otherwise. She would stay out of the conversation for now. But if she was asked if she was going to go she certianly not going to back down to cowardice.

Kat didn't like the idea of going to the Borely Mansion at night especially after curfew. She wasn't afraid to go at night, but wasn't too keen on getting in trouble for being out of the castle after hours. She looked at Sam and said, "Sam if you don't want to go you dont' have to. I certainly won't think any less of you. In fact it makes you smarter than me and who really cares what she thinks any how!" Kat glared at Athene. She wondered what would make someone so bitter towards everyone, even people in her own house.
Kat looked at Athene and said, "I'm not going after curfew. I just simply refuse to do anything that would get me into trouble and hurt my chances of making Prefect in a few years. If you want to be an arrogant and idiotic little git then go right ahead! And if you do go at night, then I hope something eats you!" Kat was absolutely infuriated by this time.
 
Athene snorted at Katalina, "some Gryffindor you are!" She laughed.

"What about you, Kailey? Going to be brave enough to come with me?"
 
Kat's face grew red with anger. She looked at Athene and said, "Gryfindor's know that there is a fine line between being brave and being completely stupid! Going to the mansion after curfew would compltely throw us over that line." Kat couldn't believe that she was letting Athene get the better of her, but she had just gotten sick of Athene being a bully. If she wanted to be a maniacal then she could go ahead and have her 'fun', but Kat wasn't going to be drug in on it and wasn't going to let her friends either. "I'll go, i'm not afraid of a house, but i'm not breaking curfew to go 'exploring' as you called it!"
 
KAiley thought over Athenes offer. Sure she thought she wouldn't back down in cowardice. But there was line between cowardice and stupidity.
 
"Athene some of us actually want to have hopes of become a Prefect.I do not intend on risking my chances on that." Sam said.

Kat waited on Athene to respond with some sort of smart remark and she knew it was coming. She smiled at Sam's remark towards Athene and was glad that he too shared her aspirations of moving on to bigger things in life and wasn't going to be bullied into doing something to hurt his chances. Kat looked toward Kailey and said, "Kailey? Are you seriously thinking about breaking curfew?" She had hoped that Kailey would say no, but wasn't quite sure what her reaction would be if she were to say yes. Kat had only known Kailey a short time, but from the time that they had spent together she thought that Kailey was the kind of person who wanted to make friends and belong, but Kat wasn't sure if she would do something so drastic to do it. She thought really hard about it and told Kailey, "I really hope that you don't go, but if you do decide to go..." Kat stopped for a moment and then added reluctantly, "...then i'll go with you. I don't want you alone by yourself, with her." Kat glared at Athene, filled with anger.
 
At this offer Kailey snapped out of her daze..."I think I'm going to have to say no to that Athene. While I'm not a coward, If we were caught that could put a dent on the road to being a prefect and things like that..." She said quietly.


[I love to make people think my characters like a pushover then BAM! lol IT's fun >:) IDK if there will be a BAM moment for her in this or not.]
 
"Is that all you guys think about? Becoming prefects? Thats pathetic," Athene laughed. She paused.

"It's OK that your scared, " she cooed softly, eventually, and sighed. "We'll just go by day, then."
 
Kat snorted at Athene's comment and said, "So being a prefect is pathetic huh?" She turned to Sam and Kailey and said, "Did you hear that guys? Striving for something other than being a pompus little twit has apparently become pathetic!" Kat turned on Athene and said sarcastically, "Do forgive us for our pathetic goals Athene! Now please tell me, what exactly are you goals for you remainder of time here at Hogwarts? What can we expect that is great from you? Perhaps blowing something up or totally pushing away everyone around you? Tell me what you consider to be worthy of your aspirations."
 
Athene simply laughed.
"Not that it's any of your business, but what I plan to become doesn't require good grades or former prefect status. I'm simply here to please my parents."
She grinned. "Anyway, it's not like being a prefect will change your future, so why bother?"
 
Kat's knuckles had turned white from being clenched so tightly. It took all that she had in her not to just punch Athene right in the face, but she had already escaped punishment once from being in an alteracation with Athene and didn't think that she would be so lucky a second time.

"Well then you leave us to our so called pathetic hopes and we shall leave you to yours. So when exactly were you wanting to go to the Borely Mansion? Other than a time that won't get us all in detention." Kat was slowly calming herself down and began to loosen the grip that she had, the color slowly returning to her hands.
 
Sam watched silently as Kat and Athene exchanged words. He didn't know if he should say something, Kat looked as if she was ready to hit Athene in the face. Thankfully she was able to calm down.
 
KAiley looked at Sam, Who also seemed to not know wether to say something or not. She simply watched them not knowing what to do.
 
Athene rolled her eyes at Sam and Kailey.
"Do you guys always look to Katalina to stand up for you?" She laughed softly.

"whenever you guys are feeling brave enough," she added, turning to Katalina.
 
Kaileys hand instinctvly went to her pocket, Gripping firmly on her wand. She ready for attack, it took all her self control to keep from saying something back. She still amnaged to pull off a semi calm look.
 
Athene rasied her eyebrows.
"Quick to anger there, Kailey." She laughed. "It was a question, not an invitation to a duel."
 
"If you're going to duel anyone it's going to be me!" Sam said taking a step forward and reaching for his wand.
 
Kat stepped up and said, "No one is going to duel anyone. OKAY!" She looked at Sam and said, "She's not worth it okay. Don't do something rash that you'll regret later."
 
"Katalina's right," said Athene with a smirk. "You would definitely regret it if you dueled me."
 
Sam pushed Katalina out of the way,"Oh, believe me stunning her is something I am not going to regret!"

Sam began to laugh at what Athene had said," Please, what could you do? Besides chicken out like you did the first time we met!"
 
Kat glared at Athene with loathing building up inside of her. "I simply meant that he would get into trouble and you my dear friend are so not worth the trouble. Don't flatter yourself that I think you are some great dueler or something to that effect. I remember quite differently in fact from our last encounter."
 
((Sam, Athene didn't chicken out, we just never finished the RP))

Athene giggled. "I'm quite surprised you haven't given up on your prefect goal after that incident, Katalina. I doubt you'll make one now."

She turned to Sam and said with a grin, "so, you want to duel me, eh?" She drew her wand with a smirk.
 
That was it. Kat had had enough of Athene's attitude and smart remarks about everything. With a tightly clenched fist Kat took a swing at Athene.
 
(((Do you always have to ruin my fun?!? :(( Fine...)))

Sam was in shock as Katalina tried to punch Athene, taking a step forward he grab her arm and pulled her back,"What are you doing?!?!" Sam said almost yelling."You could get expelled for that.You know that! Do you really want to loose all your chances of becoming a prefect?!" Sam said, he knew Katalina knew the cosequences, but still he thought he should remind her.
