Reading by the lake

"Yes and we'll just say it was slightly a little less than pleasnt for all involved. I think I was lucky that I didn't get detention actually. I'm also assuming that you've met her as well?" Kat said now in a slightly bad mood.
 
"Yes, unfortunatley I have. Our encounter wasn't all that well." Sam said wandering what Athene was up to.
 
Athene smirked as the first years looked her way. The didn't appear to be particularly pleased about her appearance.

She wondered up to them, and noticed the sweets and wrappers.

"Those don't look like wizarding treats to me, Vanderhol." She laughed. "But, I suppose that's all you can afford; Muggle candybars"
 
Sam wasn't all that happy about Athene joining them, he would try to be nice to her. Of course he would only try."What if the don't look like wizarding treats?"Sam asked.
"Athene why would you be looking for a wand in the Second-Hand Store? That's why Ollivander's is in Hogsmead. Or what where you having a bad time getting a wand." Sam asked coldly."Is the wand you carry around now one of those fake wands they sell at Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes?" He then added in mockingly.
 
Kat glared at Athene with such disgust but then put on her best smile and said in a sickeningly sweet voice, "Well, hello Athene, it's so good to see you again and how have you been? I see that you've made quite the nice recovery from our last little chat together. And no no no my dear I can quite afford other candies, I just happen to prefer muggle chocolates, afterall I am a half blood." Kat wondered what Athene's reaction would be to finding out that she was a half blood witch.
 
((Sam, Athene first went to buy a wand before term 1. It's now term two. If she went to Ollivanders and the second hand store, and then to Alicia's office, all in the same day, we can assume she has a new wand now. The only reason her getting a wand hasn't been RP'd yet, is because Alicia hasn't replied.))

Athene smiled at Vanderhol. Two can play this game, she thought. Lets see how much she really wants to play.

"I've been excellent, Katalina," said Athene, moving in a bit closer and flashing the girl a smile. She sat down next to her and ignored all comment on the chocolate bars. "How about you?"
 
((okay we all know who i sound like, but i'm gonna say it anywho, HUH? i' a bit confused. must not have been doing a very good job stalking posts, can someone clue me in? :-B ))

Kat didn't know what Athene was plotting in that sick little head of hers, but she knew it couldn't be good. She was ready for just about anything that that Athene could throw at her, or at least she was hoping she was. Kat looked at Athene with a beg grin and said brightly, "I have been just wonderful as well. I had a most glorious Christmas holiday. How about you Athene, how did your holidays go, I hope that they were just wonderful!"
 
"Oh yes, they were tonnes of fun," said Athene, with an equally large grin on her face.
"What are you reading?" she asked.

She figured that if she couldn't provoke Katalina by being rude, she'd just have to do it by being polite. It would be only a matter of time before Katalina got sick of her, she hoped.
 
Sam knew Athene had to be up to something, he just didn't know excatly what."So Athene how have your classes being for you?" Sam asked in a kind and caring tone.
 
"Great! I've received Outstanding in all my lessons this term, so far." She couldn't keep the smugness from her voice. She was tempted to say something spiteful here, but held her tongue.
"What about yours, Sam?" She asked, battering her eyelids.
 
"I've recieved Outstanding in all of my classes so far to." Sam said with a smile."Although I didn't do that well last semester in Astronomy." said Sam.
 
Kat couldn't stand it any longer. She knew that Athene wasn't a nice person and that there was definitely something going on in that evil head of hers. "Okay Athene enough with the niceness, what do you want? If you're here to say something rude then go ahead and get it over with." Kat was usually a very easy person to get along with and nice to everyone, but there was just something about this girl that seriously got under her skin.
 
"Yes, what a shame!" Sam said in an almost mocking tone.

He then turned towards Kat, he didn't know what had gotten into her. But he knew that Kat was right Athene really was up to something.

Kailey sat there quietly not really knowing what was going on.
 
[Okay...I decided to read it again. I pretty much understand whats going on now...]
 
"Oh," said Athene, raising an eyebrow. "I'm just being nice. Is that illegal now?" She grinned, glad she was finally getting a response.
"I mean, I have every right to talk to you. You can't try and tell on me, or get me in detention if i'm doing nothing wrong," she explained with a smirk. "I can hang around and annoy you as much as I want if I do it like this."
 
Kailey sat there watching the exchange. Not really knowing if she should but in or stay out. In the mean time she got out another muggle candy bar. It was one of the bite sized ones so Kailey just popped it in her mouth.
 
For a moment Kat almost lost her control and thought seriously about punching the girl, but took a deep breath, regained her composure and smiled sweetly. She knew that Athene was trying to be an annoying little git and was going to try with all her might not to let the little devil get the best of her. She looked at Athene and said in a bright, cheery voice, "Oh, do please forgive me for being rude! It's just that i'm not used to you being pleasant. In fact quite the opposite, i'm very used to you being foul and rude. And i've heard that it's not just me who seems to have this assumption of you. Well, perhaps i've misjudged you completely and you're not as much of a little twit as everyone thinks." Kat waited for Athene to retort and was prepared for just about anything that came her way.
 
Kailey sat there, Starting to be glad that she had not had a previous conversation with this girl, Although It didn't show on her face.
 
"Oh, indeed. It looks like you have," she said softly, shuffling in to sit a little closer to her and her friends.
"So, what's your name?" She asked the other girl quietly, in her sweet, but dangerous, voice.
 
Sam just watched as Katalina and Athene exchanged words. He didn't really know what to do,"Kat lets just see what she's up to." Sam whispered to Kat.
