Elysia Katsaros-Styx enjoyed the quiet in the house. She had the quiet married life for the past seven years. Elysia found herself married to the same man that captured her heart back when she was still in Hogwarts New Zealand. Their first kiss was a bit violent since she slapped the s**t out of him right afterward. Her siblings at her age already had several children of their own, whereas Elysia and Zared took their time. However, they decided to try for kids, and that was year ago. She thought that there might have been something wrong with her, or him, since they had no success. Her family knew how to breed, so she didn't understand why she didn't get pregnant right away once they started trying. Elysia had a couple of weeks off of work since she worked within the family business, which was good because she wasn't feeling at one hundred percent. Rather than get her hopes up and pee on a stick, Elysia was in the potions room that they had in their home, brewing a pregnancy potion. Elysia finished stirring, and just waited for it to simmer for a bit. She, meanwhile, pulled her hair back and tied it back in a band. Conflicted emotions went through her head. Mainly, what if she wasn't? And, what if she was? She wanted kids. But, was she ready? Was Zared? It was frustrating.

Zared Katsaros-Styx had always enjoyed peace and quiet, he had since a young child, there wasn't much for him that he wanted to say, but he knew that in recent years they'd perhaps been looking for a little more. Zared had been married to Elysia since they'd been allowed to marry. He'd done his final year happy married to the love of his life. They'd spent the last seven years happily in their own bubble, her with her work and him with his. He'd worked his way up and knew he was well respected by his colleagues, and Elysia was always a beauty to behold, intelligent beyond compare. But, they'd decide to try to for children, and where everyone else in their families had had no trouble, they had a whole year of nothing. He knew it couldn't possibly be because they were too old, that simply wasn't the case. He was pretty close to going to a healer to figure out if there was something he was doing wrong. But, this was a new month and he had noted that Elysia hadn't been feeling great, she wasn't the sort to complain but in the seven years of their marriage he had grown quite good at telling when there was a problem. But he didn't want to get his hopes up over some stomach bug. But he'd been distracted in his work and eventually just come home early. He didn't immediately hear where she was and ventured down to her potions room and stood at the entrance for a moment, watching, knowing immediately what potion she was working on. He chapped on the door frame to let her know he was here. In all their married life, the silent communication, the looks and motions lacking words had truly become their language. With a lazy flick of his fingers he conjured up a singular red rose for her.

Elysia glanced up with her silvery green eyes as she heard her husband come in with a soft thud on the doorframe. He wasn't loud, which was better for her. She did suffer from headaches from time to time, and luckily, Zared did not add to that. Her twin brother already had three children now, and she had yet to have one. Even Estelle had one of her own, with another on the way. Viktor also had one on the way as well. Zared conjured a rose for her, and a soft smile touched her lips. Little things like this just had her fall more in love with him. She took it from him and leaned up to give him a soft peck on his cheek for thanks. She looked to the potion, and the timer was soon up. She set the rose onto the desk, and scooped out the potion and placed it into a small vial. There was enough for a couple more, should this one fail. One thing that Elysia was talented in, it was potions. But as she held the vial in her fingers, she hesitated. What if it tasted bitter? What if it were sweet? Elysia was not sure how she would feel, and unfortunately, she did have a temper and often reacted on emotions, even if she didn't want to. Being married to Zared helped her relax and be herself, which she didn't do at school except with those that she really cared about. She turned to face Zared while she continued to hesitate on taking the potion. Her eyes lingered on his, while reaching up to caress his cheek. Little things like this helped give her some courage.

Zared gave a little smile as she took the rose and kissed his check. He nodded, there was clearly some anticipation over it, over what this would mean for them. Another month of disappointment or a growth in their little family. He could admit though in the beginning of their marriage kids had been a distant thought, and though he loved peace and quiet, he could help the small and growing pangs of jealousy towards their friends and family over seeing them with their kids and them still having none. He watched her silently as she held on to the potion but didn't take it. He could sense as she looked back at him the hesitancy to find out. To be disappointed. He leaned into her touch, giving as much courage as he could with his gaze at her. He reached with his hand and lightly wrapped a hand around hers where she was holding the vial of the potion.

Elysia could feel her courage growing, so she gave her hands some room to lift the vial to her lips. She tilted it back, and the potion poured to her mouth. She did not swallow, and for a good reason. She dropped the vial and started to cough, turning her whole body away from Zared as she grabbed a towel and held it tightly to her mouth. The taste was so overwhelming that she thought that she was going to be sick. Tears lined her eyes as the realization went over her. She still held the towel to her mouth, since she forced herself to not dry heave in front of her dear husband. It took a moment or two for the sick feeling to go away. She reached for the bottle of water she had nearby and took a drink of it. Elysia was overwhelmed with emotions. She closed her silvery green eyes, and finally murmured, "Sweet." It was sweet. That meant that their hard work had finally paid off. There was nothing wrong with them. There was nothing wrong. Their family was finally starting to grow. But, came the hard part. The actual pregnancy. She placed her hand on her stomach, and knew that until the first trimester was over, there was nothing to celebrate.

Zared was trying his best to not get his hopes up too much, the recent tries where he had had eneded up being even more disappointing. He just wasn't sure what their issue was. But he watched her carefully, and noted this reaction wasn't the same as ones before and when she looked at him he knew. Finally. They'd managed it. He couldn't help but feel intense emotions, joy primarily but he knew that this was only the beginning they could rest a little easier the closer it got to being born but for now they'd just managed to get over one hurdle. He gave a little smile, "We got this," he said, he knew that there was no need but he felt like he needed to say something, and I love you seemed to obvious. He watched place her hand on her stomach and couldn't help but imagine holding the child in his arms in some months time. He motioned slightly with his body, keen to wrap Elysia up in at least a hug.
