Quidditch Game: Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor

Audrey tried to whack a bludger at the Gryffindor seeker, but it sailed past. Audrey frowned. Had she peaked already? Was everything downhill from here, now she was almost seventeen?

Lilith gave a nod to her captains and as soon as the whistle was blown she shot up to the sky in search of the snitch.

Ivy got to the pitch and before she knew it the game was on. She took to the air kicking herself that the ravenclaw got the quaffle first. She flew close to their chaser going to get a chance to intercept tue ball.

No, thought Audrey with a small smile of satisfaction as the bludger she hit went flying into the Gryffindor seeker. Everything was fine, actually.

Aroha winced as she got hit. She shot a glare at the Ravenclaw beater who'd sent it. Aroha had to get her head in the game. She was failing at finding the snitch so far though.

Lucy bit back the frustration when Audrey landed a shot - it was good for the team, but she really wanted to show off for her family.

Lilith saw a hint of gold in the distance so she started making her way to the other side of the pitch, carefully weaving through the bludgers.

Teddy defended the hoops.

Rule 2a

Ivy kept close to the ravenclaw chaser and she saw her moment. She swooped in and stole the quaffle before making her way back towards the ravenclaw hoops laughing slightly at the thrill of it.

Violet sighed as the quaffle was intercepted, and kept her focus as she watched the younger Gryffindor head towards her with the quaffle.

Miles stayed closed to Ivy as she took posession of the quaffle, flying close in case she needed the backup.

Aroha noticed Lilith seem to take an interest in a certain direction, so Aroha followed and - well, she rushed forward and caught the snitch. She blinked. What? She...caught it? Aroha held it up to show everyone else, just as flabbergasted as anyone else. That was the game. They'd won.

Lilith was almost at a touching distance to the snitch when Aroha sped past her an snatched the ball from in front of her. Blinking once, twice, the Ravenclaw just stared at the emptiness where the snitch had been. She had come so close, giving a faint smile to the Gryffindor seeker Lilith felt the bitter taste of disappointment but pushed it down. "Well played!" She said to the Gryffindor, refusing to let her old habits of disappointment in herself to resurface.

Audrey was exasperated, the game had barely begun and it was already over. It always felt like she brought her A game and it was never enough. The snitch did a terrible job hiding today. Fuming, as Aroha clutched at the snitch Audrey sent a bludger straight towards Teddy in frustration. It was a shocking hit, wide of its target as her hands were a little shaky. It wasn't going to help anything, in fact she was fully aware it was bad sportsmanship, but it made her feel better in the moment. Goodness knew she needed to get one over him sometime.

((i am so sorry and godmodding? approved))

Reeve kept an eye on the game, which moved swiftly as quidditch usually did. Soon enough, the snitch was caught and Reeve blew the whistle to call the game. "Gryffindor wins!" He spotted a bludger whizz by with a speed indicative of being hit. "Who did that?" Reeve shouted, looking around at the players still in the air. An after the game was called bludger hit was pretty high up on the list of the worst of unsportsmanlike conduct.

Audrey sighed, the immediate catharsis diminishing with disappointment. "It was on the whistle, sir," she called. There was no point in pretending it wasn't her, she wasn't going to throw Lucy under the bus and the ref saw the same game she did - the Gryffindor beaters just weren't in it. Who else could it have been? "Didn't see the catch in time. My bad." Audrey held her head up high - sure, it wasn't entirely true, but it wasn't a total lie. Everything happened so quickly after all. If she was going to get yelled at, then so be it. As long as it happened off the pitch.

Yay Aroha had only gone and done it again to see them to the final. Teddy cheered and threw his arms up in celebration, just as a bludger flew past his ear. He grabbed for his broomstick to steady himself. That had been close!

Felix couldn't have ended the game faster if it had been him playing instead of Aroha. Clearly their seeker had been saving the catches for the game instead of practice. He wolf whistled in her direction, proud that Gryffindor already had one up on Ravenclaw and were one step closing to keeping hold of their trophy.
