Gryffindor, SlytherinWarm and humid. Reeve wiped at his brow as he finished up setting up the pitch with game brooms for the students who might need them and the game chest. He'd already opened it and watched the bludgers straining at the restraints holding them. The man waited for the players to take to the field and for the captains to turn in their lineups so the game could begin. He was looking forward to it.

Daviana was nervous about her first game. She knew her aunt was coming, and that just felt like the pressure was a bit more. She hadn't been doing the best in practice, and even though Ivy had kept reassuring her, she didn't want to let the team down. What if Slytherin scored so many goals that catching the snitch didn't matter? It had happened before, and Daviana didn't want to be the reason it happened here. The Gryffindor has pulled her hair back into a ponytail and stood on the edge of the pitch, waiting to see the line-up.

Ivy still couldnt quite believe it as she walked out onto the pitch the bold captains arm band standing out against her crimson robes. not only was she on the gryffindor team, she was the captain. and after the run the team had had the last few years she felt like she had a lot to prove. She was one of the first at the gryffindor bench and took in the atmosphere. The crowd was filling up, and the weather was warm. She watched the team arrive, greeting them as they made their place on the bench.
Once everyone was there, she smiled "Alright, lions. It is going to be a tough game. Slytherin has a good team. But I reckon ours is better. It is also warm and humid. so make sure you have a drink before you go up. i dont want any of you fainting up there. if you feel the heat getting to you let me know and i will call a time out." she said. Winning was important but the health of her players was also important if they wanted to play well. "Daviana. you have improved so much so far this semester. do you best. and dont let them intimidate you, they are just stinky Slytherins. she said.
"Miles and Tess. We need to work together and have each other's backs, pass if you need to, and look for opportunities to steal from Slytherin. We want to try and keep the ball near the Slytherin hoops."
"Felix. Aroha is ill so you are in today. Your goal is to get the snitch as quickly as you did in training. And if not, get it quicker than Slytherin. be aware of the haze, it may make vision hard."
she turned to the chasers.
She looked to the beaters. "Fiona, you know the drill. Focus on the seeker. they do have an alt this year. But Ignatious has been around for a while, so if we can take him out, that will be good for us. Kaysi, you did great at training. I want you up there to start. William and Laura. you are not on to begin with, but be ready to sub in if the heat keeps up." she said. she looked at the team. her team. "Like i said before. We are a great team. We have got this. Now Gryffindor on three, " she said, putting her hand into the middle of the huddle. "One two three. GRYFFINDOR," she cheered.
She took a swig from her water and made her way over to where Reeve was standing, the team sheet in her hand with the last-minute changes marked on. She hoped Aroha felt better soon and would get to play in her last year. she also hoped William wouldn't be to uoset that he wasnt starting. but she wanted to keep some of the experience off so if they needed a substitute they would be fresh to play while slytherin would be tiring or have weaker players on.

Gaia arrived to the Quidditch Pitch ready to play her first game of the semester. Glancing at the rest of her team as she walked towards the Captain the third year waited for everything to be said and done. She had a good feeling about her particular capabilities to fend off any scores, the rest wasn't up to her and that was good enough for her.

William wasn't an alternate anymore, he'd worked hard for that to be the case and yet with the first game of the season he found himself on the bench once again, all because Kaysi had 'done well in training'. That wasn't how that worked. William grumbled as he took his spot on the team, sure he'd be ready to go if he was called up, but he wasn't happy with Ivy's decision.

Alana really wanted to end Gryffindor's streak, they'd won enough and she wanted her team beat them and bring an end to the run. Teddy was gone now and she doubted Ivy would be as good as a captain. Alana walked out onto the pitch and took her place with her teammates, waiting for the captain.

James knew he wouldn't be playing but he was looking forward to being involved especially after a productive practice session. He made his way over to where the captain would gather the team and waited for them.

Felix could only hope he caught the snitch as quickly as he had in practice, feeling a little more pressure than usual now that he was actually playing. He was eyeing up the Slytherin team across the pitch as Ivy spoke, but turned for their team huddle, "Go Gryffindor!"

Luke was ready on the pitch, waving his bat in the air like a lightsabre and imagining a seeker on the end of it. Gryffindor were gonna get it.

Kaysi was hopping on the balls of her feet, excitement and adrenaline coursing through her in equal measure. She nodded at their captain's words, ready to prove this was the right decision. She hoped Gryffindor would come away with the win.

Even though he hadn't been doing so well in training lately, Zeke was feeling confident that he'd play brilliantly today. He joined his team and waited to hear from Sybil.

Sybil was nervous for the game but tried not to show it. She stood in front of the team and tried to stand tall, which wasn't that impressive since she was rather short. She cleared her throat to get the teams attention and flushed a little when understandably all their eyes turned to her. "Here we are! Game time!" she announced. "It's time to show Gryffindor what we're made of alright?!" she said encouragingly. She hoped they'd win or at least do will enough the team wouldn't want to replace her.

Tessaria was admittedly a little nervous for her first game. She held her broom tightly as the captain briefed them and nodded at her instructions. Tess just hoped that she wouldn't embarrass herself at all while she was out there. She waited eagerly for the game to begin.

Reeve took a look at the lineup information and determined that all was in order. He quickly cast the Sonorous Charm on himself and then announced to the crowd, “Today, Slytherin will be guarding the northern hoops, and Gryffindor will guard the south hoops. Best of luck to both teams. Let's have a clean and fun game!”

Reeve released the snitch and bludgers. He flew up into the sky with the quaffle, tossing it into the air with a "GAME ON!"

OOCOut of Character: Game notes, please read
1. Be sure to review the rules [please note the change to snitch capture value]. Any questions regarding the rules should first be addressed to your captain(s). Captains may PM me for any assistance needed.
2. If you have any issues seeing the score on the referee's first post or with your access to the quidditch system, please send a PM including both me and your captain(s). It may be that they've forgotten to add you to the system or may be a bigger issue.
3. You should refresh the page before you post! Someone might sneak in a post while you are working on yours and first post counts.
4. You should always be pressing a button, whichever is appropriate for your game play during your post. Doing so boosts your success rate and allows the timer to kick in appropriately for players.
5. After a player is hit by the bludger 3x, gameplay should stop. This allows for a quicker return to game post- substitution.
6. The game is meant to be interactive, so read your fellow players posts before posting! Stick with the game from beginning to end, from kicking off the ground to touching back down! Have fun!

Daviana made her way to the south hoops as instructed by the referee and steadied herself on the broom. She was not going to let anyone score today. Well, at least, she would try to let as few quaffles in as possible.

Kaysi kicked off the ground and immediately spotted a bludger. She darted after it, attempting to hit it to the seeker but watching as it soared into one of the Slytherin Chasers instead. She gave a little shrug, still pretty pleased by it.
@Zeke Baros

Alana kicked off and started looking for bludgers.

The whistle blew and they were off. Ivy secured the quaffle under her arm and made her way towards the slytherin hoops.

Once the whistle blew Gaia kicked off on her broom for the northern hoops. Once she reached the hoops the third year settled in front of the and began tracking the Gryffindor Chasers, seeing as they had taken possession of the Quaffle.

Ignatius took off and began searching for the snitch.

Ivy drew closer to the goals and threw the quaffle towards the hoop kicking herself when she didn’t manage to score.

Gaia watched as the Gryffindor Chaser closed in on her hoops and once the girl threw the Quaffle at her Gaia was filled with satisfaction as she managed to block the shot entirely. Throwing the Quaffle back into play for her team.

It was hot and humid, but that didn't stop Felix from shooting into the skies as soon as the game began. He'd spent a lot of time in practise and just as Ivy requested, Felix did exactly what he had in their latest session. No sooner had they begun, the golden gleen in the sky was clear, and a few seconds later the tiny ball was tucked safely in Felix's grip.
