It was the start of the year and Elvera had enjoyed spending the break with her family, she and her daughters had made their way to england. spend the holiday in morgaus's cottage, which she guessed was Morgans now, though morgan had made her own here. It had been such a wonderful summer. being there with her girls had reminded her of her own childhood. the carefree days in the meadows, and the nights when she would be told stories and myths as she fell asleep. the girls were birth walking quite well now and their personalities were starting to show through. Selene was quite quiet and thoughtful, daydreaming about things often where as selene was more talkative and outgoing. It was a few days into the semester. and for some reason Selene had not slept well the night before and she just didn't want to leave elveras side. realising she only actually had one class today and that the rest of the work she had to do wasn't too extreme she picked up both girls and decided to take them with her. this was something she didn't do often. the girls had spent the morning in the office adjacent to her classroom when she taught, it was the sixth years first lesson on astrology today.
now it was lunch time and for a bit of fresh air she had taken some food from the great hall outside to the lawn as well as a small blanket much like they had done over the holiday. however this time she had to cast a charm around them keeping the bitter winter breeze away from them and the air warmer.

Over the course of the school holidays Aeon had become a married man and, was very soon to be, a father. Married life he found to be not at all much different from his life prior to it. It was something he, and most other people seemed to dream of throughout their entire life, fantasizing and planning their future weddings even in childhood. But nothing changed afterwards. The event itself however was the happiest moment of his life. Being surrounded by so many of his and his husbands friends and family, even those he wasn't particularly fond of, had brought him so much joy. One night of wearing fine clothes, having plentiful food and drink, dancing under the stars, exchanging vows and binding their love for the rest of their lives. Brodie was officially a part of his family now. He'd wanted nothing more.

Too soon, it seemed like the new school year had started up again and forced him to return to work. As much as he loved working at the castle and teaching Transfiguration to the students, he missed and felt a bit robbed of much of his family life. With Dallas only months away from giving birth to his children, would he have the time for them? Would he miss much of them growing up? It worried him. Despite having sleeping quarters provided with his office, this year it would likely go unused, the man opting to instead return home each night.

With his morning class over and only one more class later in the evening, Summers took his free time to wander across the grounds. It didn't feel like that long ago that he was merely a student at the school, the Gryffindor prefect who would run around and get up to all sorts of trouble. After graduating, he'd never expected to ever return. Yet, here he was. He wasn't the only one, it had seemed. Crossing the great lawn, his dark, starry blue cloak billowing out behind him in the cool wind, Aeon caught sight of Elvera having what appeared to be a family picnic. He'd grown up with her as a classmate and they'd had the same friends, but the two hadn't really socialised a great deal with each other. Even during the past year, with Aeon taking over from Jacqueline, he hadn't had the time or chance to chat with her one on one. He knew he should have. After all, he lost contact with a lot of his friends from back in the day.

Giving a friendly wave, the wizard approached his old classmate. He entered the woman's field of warm air, which fought back at the harsh chill of the Winter season and returned the colour to his pale fingertips and cheeks. With a slight shift of his cloak, pushing the fabric back so that it no longer covered the shoulders of his tunic to aid in keeping him warm, the man stopped at the edge of the picnic blanket. "Good afternoon, Elvera. How have you been? Looks like you're still in holiday-mode!" He commented with a cheerful grin. "Honestly, I think the breaks need to be longer. I can't believe we're back already."

as they ate elvera watched the world go by. she had loved being out in the grounds wen she was a student. not studying like a good ravenclaw should have been, but just watching the people. some students came and went braced against the winter air for quick walks and more private conversations with friends, sneaky romantic meet ups where they thought no one could see, or trips to the greenhouses or creatures area to work on one assignment or another. One time when Elvera looked up and saw someone else leave the castle, someone not in the school uniform and head towards her. she was fairly sure she reognised the man. as he drew nearer she realised she was right. she watched him walk closer before he entered her warm space. "Good afternoon Aeon, I am not so much in holiday mode, it was more the girls would not be left at home this morning. any longer and i doubt they would ever let me go" she said chuckling. she gestured to Aeon to join them and help himself to some of the food. "Congratulations on your marriage, it was a beautiful evening unfortunately i didn't have much chance to congratulate you on the day." she said. taking a bite of a tuna sandwich. "how was your holiday" she asked wondering what else he had been up to. maybe he had been on a honeymoon somewhere nice and exotic.

Aeon chuckled at Elvera's response, imagining what it would be like once he had his own kids to look after, which wouldn't be too much further into the future now. Dallas was expected to give birth in the next couple of months and he'd have twins to deal with himself. "They sound like they're quite the handful. I bet you two are twice the trouble, right?" He grinned before dropping down to his knees, cushioned by the picnic blanket. The last time he'd been out on a picnic on the grounds like this was years ago, with Vivienne and Arisa. They'd do this sort of thing frequently, and he missed it. Sitting there brought back feelings of nostalgia.

At Le Fey's gesture, the wizard helped himself to some of the food, never one to miss an opportunity to eat something when it was presented to him. He'd once spent a good majority of a year in his animagus form, using it to sit outside bakeries and beg for free food. It had been way too easy and kept him happy, he always figured he'd make the most of his abilities, even if it was just for selfish purposes. He took a bite of a muffin, listening as the woman congratulated him on his marriage. When he'd sent out the invitations and invited some of his colleagues, he wasn't sure who would turn up and who wouldn't. He'd even invited Kalif, though hadn't expected a response. He was grateful that Elvera made it however. "Thanks." He said after swallowing. "It's still hard to believe it's finally happened. I didn't think I'd ever get married, you know? It felt like something always out of reach, then suddenly it comes rushing toward you. You spend all these years planning your perfect wedding, but when it comes to it you just run out of time and it's all a confusing blur. I'm happy that it turned out well, I couldn't have asked for a better wedding." He beamed, the memory of it filling him with a flush of warm feeling that had nothing to do with the bubble around them. "And it's alright, I didn't have a lot of time to get to see everyone there either. I'm glad you could make it though."

Finishing the muffin, he dusted the crumbs from his fingertips. "Other than the wedding, Brodie and I went on a holiday across Europe which was absolutely amazing. I have one album just full of photos of the trip. But unfortunately I didn't have too much free time, we had to get back so I could manage my Menagerie on Obsidian Harbor." He replied, breathing a disappointed sigh. The store got busy during the school holidays, especially with new students coming in for the new year. "What about you? How was your holiday?"
