It was halloween night and briar made her way down to the feast, after growing up the way she had she didn't really know what all of the fuss of halloween was about, it was just another night to her. however on no other night would she be walking down to the great hall with a tin of red paint in her hands, and a floor length pale pink dress on. the main reason for this was that she had never warn a proper dress before she had arrived at hogwarts, and to be truly honest she didn't really like it, she preferred the freedom trousers and leggings gave her, but her dorm mate Sid had insisted that she wear a dress. oh and the paint was not normal ether. as she reacher the fifth floor she took a small diversion and put the pain in a block of unused toilets, no one would be coming in here tonight, except her and Sid. as she left the room she checked both ways and slipped unnoticed into a group of gryffindor forth years, this wasn't hard as they were all rearing twisted masks with only pinpricks for eyes.
once she reached the hall she drifted around slightly until she saw a zombie bride, and now she knew why the dress was important, both she and sid were wearing similar yet different costumes.

A while later she left the feast a little early blaming tiredness and the need to complete a history of magic essay the next day. however she had no intention of going to bed as she stopped on the fifth floor landing and slipped back into the bathroom to await her partner in crime.

OOCOut of Character:
sorry if i god modded a little, but i can change it if you want

Sid had enjoyed the feast. She had seen Bri there in her costume, and was glad that she had taken Sid's 'advice' and had worn a costume with a dress. Her costume, which looked like a vampire bride-type thing, was wicked. She had spotted Bri leaving, and after waiting a few minutes, had followed her partner-in-crime. She was excited - the prank would be wicked, and she couldn't wait to see who they got. Taking a shortcut or two, Sid got to the fifth floor corridor quickly. Quickly glancing around, she knocked in a special way on the door, to make sure Bri wouldn't spring her. Knock knock-knock knock-knock! The knocks echoed slightly as she then made her way into the bathroom.

There, she saw Bri waiting with their red paint. "Hey Bri! Awesome costume!" she said, quickly tucking her dress into the shorts she wore under it. She didn't want it to get in the way, as dresses tended to do. "I know, I know, I look dumb like this, but anyway. Do you want to do the spell, or me? And where? Over the door, where we'll get them right away, or should we let them go to the toilet first and then spring them when they're washing their hands? And which stall should we hide in? You do know how to hide in a stall, don't you?" Sid was all business as she got to preparing the prank. She wanted this to go perfectly, and was just glad that she had finally found the perfect partner-in-crime. This was gonna be good.

Briar heard the knocks and opened the door. in came sid dressed berry nicely in her zombie bride dress, "your costume is awesome too" she said as Sid bulled on some shorts over her dress. that was one thing she had forgotten. she herself bent down and wrapped the seam up the side of hers and pulled the skirt across and tied it neatly (glad that there weren't many underskirts, just the one which she slitted but left down), something she had been itching to do all night.
then the conversation turned towards the plan "I don't think we should do it in here" she said "this room is meant to be out of use and most people would have gone down stairs or waited until they got bask to their house. ho i think that we should wet it up in the door over the stairs. theirs a dragon sculpture on one side we can hide behind and no one will see the paint if it is on the other side of the door. plus i think we will hear someone coming because the stairs are very echoey" she smiled hopping that this was a good idea. the fifth floor had been her choice of floor as she didn't want to be too far down as professors were patrolling everywhere, and the fourth floor was home of the hufflepuffs, who would probably get very hurt if a bucket of paint tipped on them, so the fifth floor was their home and their target would be the first student to walk past once they were ready.

Sid laughed when Bri ripped her skirt so that she could move more freely. "Well, that's one way of dealing with an annoying skirt," she chuckled. She nodded approvingly when Bri said they should do the prank out in the corridor. "Good idea - I hadn't thought about whether people would come in here," she said, grabbing the paint and taking it out, assuming that Bri would follow her. Once they were outside, Sid set the paint down in the shadow of one of the statues, crouching down beside it. "Should we wet the floor with the paint, or should we levitate it so it can drop down on someone, or should we do drips and prints of paint to look like someone's walked up here while bleeding? Or maybe we could do a combination, like using the drips/prints to lure them up then having one of the other set-ups. What do you think?" she asked, speaking each idea as it popped into her head. Sid was experienced in pranking, and was looking forward to seeing their plans go into action.

briar followed Sid out to the corridor and hid behind the statue. "i think we should spill the paint on someones head, and then perhaps we should do footprints up the stairs and clean the landing so that the prints disappear." she laughed and then tried to stifle it as she didn't want anyone to know that they were there. she heard the footsteps of someone at the bottom of the stairs and knew that they had about two minutes left to be ready. "but what ever we do we'd better do it quick i think someone is coming, do you want to levitate it, then i'll knock it down she pulled a sling shot out of her pocket and grabed small pebble, she knew that this would easily stun a deer at that distance, so tipping a tin of paint should be childs play.

Sid nodded approvingly as Briar outlined her plan. "Sounds good," she said, turning and taking the lid off the paint can. She carefully placed it to the side, then froze as she, too, heard the echoes of footsteps approaching them. She turned to Briar and simply nodded in agreement to her plan. She quickly withdrew her wand from its hiding place (a strap around her thigh that held it firmly in place) and pointed it towards the open paint can, whispering, "Wingardium leviosa!" The paint can silently rose in the air, and Sid ensured that it didn't wobble so that none would spill. Hearing the footsteps grow ever nearer, she shrunk back into the shadows, hoping that Briar was ready. Sid crouched low, making herself small and staying silent so as not to give them away. Turning towards Briar, she held the paint in place with her wand in one hand as she indicated to Briar that she should shoot her slingshot over Sid's shoulder, then turned back to watch the show.

Elvera was making her way up the stairs from the Halloween feast. she wasn't sure why she had gone this year but she was glad she had, as she had annoyed the food, the drinks, and the dancing. she made her way up to the ravenclaw common room, she liked living in a tower but she sometimes wished that there was a lift up as there was too many stairs, tonight was one of those nights; her princess dress was sticking to her back and her shoes were cramping her feet, as she had borrowed them of one of the other girls in her dorm who had feet half a size smaller than hers. when she reached the fifth floor she stepped out into the corridor as if to continue to the other end. not noticing the tin of pain above her head.

Briar saw someone pas through the door, she guessed it was an older student, and probably in ravenclaw house as she didn't recognise her. she aimed the sling shot at the paint can and took fire the sound of the peble hiting the tin echoed aroung the room giving the victim enough time to look up before a river of paint hit them in the face, this was a bonus that she hadn't planned, she looked at Sid and tried not to giggle as the victim stood there her blue and purple dress stained red from the paint.
