Practising/Studying after Charms

Estrella smiled. "most people dont know what they want to do yet. You're not alone."

Grinning, she replied, nodding, "I have both a job and a boyfriend."

Kat grinned at Estrella and said, "Oh really? Where do you work at? I work at Schrivenshafts." She paused for a moment and then added, "Is he in the same house as you?" Kat thought about Makato and was wondering whether or not she should tell anyone that she was 'very close' with a Slytherin, not knowing how well that would sit with some people.

Estrella shook her head. "No, he's a second year Slytherin. And I work at Flourish and Blott's."

She smirked. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Kat's felt her face go very red. She looked at the ground and said, "Well, not really a boyfriend exactly, I don't guess! He's more of a, urm, very close friend of mine I guess you could say. He's in Slytherin too. A first year." Kat looked up with a big goofy looking grin on her face and added, "I like him a lot though!"

"That's good," Estrella replied, smiling. Her gaze fell to the ground, watching the blades of grass bend in the breeze.

Kat sat there for a little bit, feeling the cool breeze blow through her hair and across her face. After a few moments she said, "So, fancy helping me practice a little bit more?"

"Sure," Estrella replied, smiling as she pulled a wisp of hair behind her ear, "What did you want help practicing with?"

"The summoning charm. I mean I know i'm not going to be perfect at it, but I at least want to get it to where i'm not going to have a bajillion things flying at me all at once." Kat said half jokingly with a little smirk.

"Okay," Estrella replied, "And another thing with the summoning charm- If you think real hard about what you're summoning, sometimes you don't even need to be super descriptive. At least, that's helped me." She shrugged. "So, what did you want to use it on?"

Kat looked around for a moment and then said, "You don't happen to have a book with you do you?" Kat had two books in her bag and thought maybe if she added a third one in there, then maybe it would add a little bit of a challenge to it.

Estrella smiled, opening her bag and pulling out The Hobbit, handing it to Katalina. "Does this work?"

"Perfect! Thanks Estrella!" said Kat excitedly as she took the book from her and placed it in her own bag along with Pride and Prejudice and Saucy Tricks for Tricky Sorts.

Once Kat had placed the book into her bag, she went and took her place a few yards away from where it sat. She took a deep breath, focused on what she was to do and said, "ACCIO Katalina's book!"

Kat saw two books zooming right at her. She managed to catch one, but the other hit her square in the stomach, slightly knocking the wind out of her and making her tear up a bit. After taking in a deep breath and wiping the moisture from her eyes she said under her breath, "Bloody toadstools in Spring that hurt!"

Feeling slightly embarassed she looked at Estrella and said, "Sorry, I usually don't use foul words, I swear it!"

Estrella laughed, "That's the most censored swear I've ever heard."

She smiled, "I would try saying Accio Pride and Predjudice."

Kat blushed a little bit and gave a goofy grin saying, "Well perhaps that was a little more censored than i've been in the past, but like I said, I try to mind my tongue, though admittedly sometimes thats hard to do."

Come on Kat, you can do this! she thought to herself and with that she took a deep breath, considering Estrella's advice, and went to replace the books in her bag, in no particular order.

"Accio Pride and Prejudice!" said Kat in a commanding tone. This time it worked. Her copy of the book came zooming towards her and she caught it in her free hand.

She looked to Estrella and said almost a little too excitedly, "I did it!"

Estrella laughed. "You should hear me on a bad day... I'm not proud of it, but I think I could put a sailor to shame."

She smirked as Katalina was successful upon her advice, and she said, "See? It's all about how much you think and how much you describe it."

"Thanks Estrella! I really think this is helping." said Kat excitedly. She looked around at all the objects that she could summon to her. She saw a small stone, just lying there in the grass all alone. Kat took a deep breath and concentrated really hard on the small stone. "ACCIO small smooth grey stone!" said Kat with a small flourish of her wand. The stone zipped swiftly into Kat's free hand. She jumped and yelped zealously, "AHA! I DID IT AGAIN!"

Estrella smirked, and stated, "It's not so hard once you get the hang of it." Pulling out a blade of grass from the ground, she examined it, turning it over in her hands, and bringing it up to her lips, she blew across it, making a high pitched whistle-like sound.

"No I guess it's not! Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!" said Kat as she watched Estrella do something with a piece of grass that made noise. "How do you do that? Is that magic too?" she asked with extreme curiosity. She had never seen anyone make noise come from grass before and wanted to know how it was done.

Estrella laughed. "No, it's a thing I learned from my cousin; me and him used to annoy the adults anyway we could." She handed Katalina a piece of grass, and she instructed, "Blow across the top of it softly; you can do the same thing with a piece of paper, and if you blow across a bottle, it makes a really awesome sound."

Kat picked up a piece of grass and held it the way the Estrella was holding hers as well. She gently blew across the top of it as instructed and when she did so a slightly high-pitched sound was produced. Kat got a michevious grin across her face and said, "Now i'll have a new way to torture my sister when I go home!"

"Torturing your family members is always fun," Estrella chuckled, remembering the pranks she had used to pull on Luke, and he in turn had pulled on her. She set her piece of grass down, smirking and said, "Did you want to practice more or are you done for the moment?"

"I think i've got it for right now!" said Kat confidently. "Thanks so much for helping me Estrella! I really appreciate it!" she added as she extended a hand shake.

Estrella took Katalina's hand, shaking it and smiling. "It's no biggie; anytime!" She seriously meant it; Katalina seemed like a great person to be around after all the drama that had been going down with the third years lately.

"Great! Well I have to run for right now! Have to write to my mum and dad, but i'll see you around and thanks again for helping me!" said Kat brightly as she ran off towards the owlery.
