Elliot had been all coiled anxiety on the bench during the game, watch the sky tensely as the snitch was released. After a few moments had passed without some sort of catastrophic bludger incident, he was able to tear his eyes away from watching April to glance around the pitch, sparing a shy smile and wave to Lars and even spotting what had to be Lily up in the stands with signs for them both. His nerves about the game didn't dissipate entirely, but just catching Lars' eye for a few seconds helped ground him a little. It was weird to be down on the pitch for a game, especially playing against Lars, even if technically neither of them were actually playing yet, but Elliot was glad he was there anyway.
In what felt like a few breathes later, the whistle was blown and April was already holding the snitch aloft. Elliot found himself on his feet cheering without even thinking, swept up in the swell of victory. Next was just a clamor of teammates dismounting brooms and the distant roar of the crowd shifting from the stands as something about a party in the common room was tossed around. Disentangling himself from the high spirits of the rest of the team, Elliot glanced around quickly, making a beeline for Lars before he could lose track of the other boy. "Lars, hey," He said, bouncing on his feet, suddenly giddy from the leftover anxiety he'd balled up before the game that he now had no outlet for. "That was quick, right?" He said, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. He wanted to compliment Lars on a good game, or even mention how relieved he was that neither of them got hurt, but the sentiment didn't feel quite right for a game so quick, especially since Ravenclaw lost. The nervous energy was pushing him to do something though, and he mostly just found himself smiling dopily up at Lars instead.
