The young Hufflepuff stared at herself in the mirror, as she attempted to fix into her hair the last few strands of her brunette hair, she'd taken great care in making her hair ready, fixed it into play using magical items that ensured that her hair would not fall out of place and had followed the instructions to a T, after all, this was an important Yuleball. She'd gone to all of the yuleballs prior to this but this was different, it was different to when she'd attended with Jean, different than when she had attended alone, because she was attending the Yuleball with her boyfriend. Lydia had put in a lot of effort into her hair, make up and dress, the lightly tanned skin from the increasing days of hot summer had definitely helped the dress which was a yellow colour, one that she used to both symbolise house and because Lydia loved colours. She liked the bright yellow, she liked how it look, she liked how the dress felt, hugging her still forming body. The keeper was feeling pretty confident about it, and she was very eager to be meeting Felix.

The girl checked herself over one last time, making sure there were no stains on the dress that her hair was indeed staying in place and then with that, she was was sure to leave behind her wand and then slip on the heels. They had agreed to meet outside the Hufflepuff common room, so they would be able to walk together into the great hall, and Lydia was bubbling with excitement, although she realised as she stepped out of the common room to stand a little awkwardly on the fourth floor that she was early, her mind considered going to the library seeing if her cousin was there and if he would comment upon her dress, keep her company during this time as she wait the few minutes for Felix, but in the end she decided to just stand waiting, playing lightly with the ring on her finger just waiting for him to arrive. She was both a bundle of excitement and nerves, she had no reason to be nervous they were already dating, but she wanted to look good for him, she liked how she looked, but she wanted him to like it too, and more than that she was excited to spend this night with him.

Felix was nervous. Felix was never nervous, but this wasn't like anything he had done before. Sure he had been to the Yule ball before but never had he been with his girlfriend. It meant so much more than any other time he had gone before, but among the nerves was excitement. Felix still had the image of Lydia's Halloween costume in his mind, he remembered thinking how amazing he looked and how his jaw had remained in place he still didn't know, he was excited to see how she would look, no matter what he knew she would look good and he wanted her to know that. Felix ran his hands over his white shirt to make sure it was perfect before he took his bow tie and fastened it around his neck. Finally he slipped on his jacket and fastened the buttons. He took a few moments to look in the mirror, he was very happy with how he looked and he hoped that Lydia would be just as pleased.

Having agreed to meet outside the Hufflepuff common room Felix left his own and made his way down to the fourth floor. He had a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach, it felt strange to be nervous as he made his way down through the castle, he and Lydia were already dating so why was he so nervous? Felix rounded the corner to the Hufflepuff common room and all his nerves fell away when he laid eyes on his girlfriend. "Wow," He stammered as he took in the sight of her dress, it was beautiful and it hugged her well. Felix tugged at his collar as he walked closer to her. "Lydia, you look beautiful," He smiled at her. Standing next to her he held out his arm, "Shall we?"

Lydia hadn't been sure what to expect, as she stood waiting, her nerves mixed with her excitement, creating such an odd feeling within her, such a strange amount of emotions that she wasn't quite certain of how to explain. The teen smiled happily when she looked round to the person who'd just said her name and she blushed lightly as he complimented her, Lydia was glad that he liked it, appeared to like it and she took a moment to take in the sight of her boyfriend in front of her, "You look handsome, you do clean up nice," she returned smiling at him, with all nerves suddenly completely gone and the only thing that matter was that they were spending this night together, and that she really liked him. Lydia had been surprised when she found herself falling pretty quickly for Felix, all the time they spent together was the time she looked forward to the most, it felt so easy and she was definitely glad that they were attending the yuleball together.

Lydia nodded at him and took his arm easily with a smile at him, and beginning to walk to the great hall, she leaned into him slightly with out realising and just enjoyed the fact they were attending together, the teen had a little trouble on the stairs, not yet the most confident in heels although she was getting better at it, eventually they arrived at the Great Hall and Lydia just smiled at him, "So, what do we do first, picture, dance or food?" she listed the options they had for this night, and though she imagined they'd get to all of them, it was a matter of picking what went first, she was barely noticing the surroundings around her, almost solely focused on Felix in front of her, "I say we dance,"

After successfully picking his jaw up off the floor Felix extended his arm out to Lydia and she took it. He grinned as she blushed at his words, Felix liked that he could make her blush so easily, it gave him a strange sense of pride that he had such an affect on someone who had a pretty big affect on him. Felix considered himself very lucky to have met Lydia, at least to have met her properly that day in the garden and having got to know her it was no surprise to him that he was falling for her fast, she was amazing and made him feel things he had never felt before, it was quite scary sometimes but it was an amazing experience.

Felix grinned at her when she told him that he scrubbed up nicely, he enjoyed dressing up like this, that had been one of the fun things about the winter holidays was that he had gotten to dress up for a wedding, his only wish was that he had been able to bring a date because he knew that Lydia would have looked as dazzling then as she did now. Once she linked her arm with him they began to walk to the Great hall, Felix caught sight of the other students, he looked at some of the other girls in their dresses and he couldn't help but think, that even the seventh years seemed to pale in comparison to his date. Once they were inside Lydia listed their options for the night and pondered what they should do first, they were all things he wanted to do but before he could give an answer Lydia gave one of her own. She wanted to dance, Felix smiled at her. "Well as you may remember, I'm quite the dancer," He smiled unlinking their arms and taking her hand in his.

As much as it was a lot of fun to get dress up for the Halloween feast there was something just as fun in getting ready for the yuleball, there was less effort just in terms of costumes and well, it was in Lydia's view just easier, the atmosphere was easier. The hufflepuff teen smiled easily at her date, at her boyfriend as he agreed to dance, she easily cast her memory to the Halloween feast where they had danced, where they had enjoyed themselves and definitely been able to have fun, the same she could probably say of this day, of this with him, and knowing how good he was, and how he agreed the girl couldn't help the small giggle of excitement which crossed her lips before she leaned in and easily kissed Felix on the lips, just as he took her hand, just a small peck but she was smiling brightly as she pulled away.

Lydia squeezed his hand lightly as she led them both out to the dance floor, picking the best spot that she could find in the short amount of time they'd been there, a position to begin though not to be the one they likely remained in. She listened to the music for a few minutes before just beginning to dance, she had her hand in his and danced to the music, it wasn't an overly fast song but it was also not a slow song, she was grinning at him as they danced. It was a little tricky of course to dance in the heels but at the very least she didn't have to worry about too restrictive a skirt. The girl easily danced, she was so happy they were able to share this moment, this evening. And feeling so much joy for the moment leaned in to him and kissed him once more.

Felix loved everything about the Yule ball but it was such a better experience for being there with Lydia. As beautiful as the decorations in the Great hall were he couldn't take his eyes off his girlfriend in her dress, she truly was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Felix's enthusiasm to dance seemed to go down well with Lydia who smiled brightly and seemed to giggle at the excitement of it all, before Felix was able to say any more she placed a kiss on his lips, it was just a peck and Felix had little time to react before she had pulled away with a big and bright smile on her lips.

Felix allowed Lydia to pull him onto the dance floor, the teen was happy to follow her where ever she wanted to go. When she found a spot he was happy with the two began to dance, Felix held her hand in his and placed his other on her waist. The music had a little rhythm but it quickly changed to a slow song which Felix enjoyed all the more, the two move moved together in time to the music. Felix looked down at Lydia who seemed to be lost in her own thoughts as without a word she leaned in and kissed him. Felix kissed her back, happy to enjoy the moment with her.

It was easy Lydia thought to get into the Yuleball, she liked dancing with Felix and spending the time with him now, while dancing was something she was definitely happy to be doing. The teen was feeling at ease, and she had a clear smile on her face. It was as she broke the kiss and just looked up at him smiling that she just felt so much pure joy over it all. She was so excited to be at this with him, and she very quickly began dancing with him, just following the flow of the music. She wasn't an awful dancer, perhaps not one that would win any prize but not awful, the hufflepuff smiled warmly at Felix, she was sure that he too was enjoying himself. Lydia liked both the Yuleball and Halloween equally, they offered different things, and she was always happy to spend her time at both, there was always fun to be had at these things, "I think I prefer this to Halloween," she told him honestly, since in that moment with him at this event he thought dancing with him was a hundred times better than anything halloween might offer her, the formality of the event and just seeing everyone dressed up so nice was a good sight. There was little that Lydia could do to stop the joy she felt, she felt so free and happy in both it being the end of term and with Felix, all this dancing would eventually tire her out, but she was enjoying it.
