Elliot's first year had been interesting to say the least, and he'd met a lot of different people, with lots of different skills and hobbies. He knew he was still young, but it unsettled him seeing so many other students with their passions and goals and having nothing that he wanted to work towards himself. He chewed on the corner of a thumbnail, staring out over the gardens and turning things over in his head. He really did enjoy his classes and learning, but he couldn't help but feel like something was missing.
He'd come out to the gardens with the intention of checking out the Wild Patch club. He'd been too overwhelmed at the start of year to actually sign up, but now that Elliot had found his footing a bit better at school he was already thinking ahead. With the school year almost over, he thought he might go check out the club greenhouse and see what they got up to. Maybe he could join it next year. Peering into the greenhouse windows hadn't revealed much however, and he'd eventually chickened out, too afraid to just go into the clubhouse of a club he didn't belong in. Retreating to the gardens instead, Elliot was surprised at the range of plants still so lively in the slowly encroaching autumn cold. It was nice to just take a moment and enjoy the grounds, no books, no notes, no exams, just for now.
