((Pink rose for Videl Zhefarovich II, open after Kaitlyn))

Now that Alice had had a bit more time to look over her list and prepare, as she had organized the list of people herself, she felt like she had a better grasp on who she was delivering to. So she knew the next boy on her list was a first year Slytherin. Alice decided to look around until she saw some first years in a corridor, possibly moving from class to class. "Excuse me, is anyone named Videl here?"

Videl tried to keep from yawning as he moved from one class, and started to head toward the dungeons. However, he heard someone call his name. Rather, asked if anyone was named Videl. He groaned and turned around to see who it was. A Hufflepuff, older than he. He stared at her, cocked his head to the side, and asked in a bored tone, "What."

Alice was glad when she got a reaction out of one boy, even when it wasn't the most enthusiastic reaction in the world. She approached him with an unwavering smile, holding out the pink rose. "This one is for you." She told him. It was pretty unusual for a first year to get a pink rose, and she was curious about it.

Videl slowly took the pink rose from the Hufflepuff. What in the world was this about? Videl did not know the annual rose giving thing, having slept through most of February to begin with. "Okay, what is all this?" asked the Slytherin with a raised eyebrow.

Alice had expected everyone to know about the rose event, especially with it being in full swing. But apparently it wasn't as wide spread as she had expected, or maybe some first years just hadn't heard yet because they weren't that interested in it. She smiled as she explained, "every Valentine's Day we organize an event where people can send each other roses, in three colors." She said, nodding to the rose he was now holding. "Yellow is for friendship, pink for a crush or admiration, red for love. Someone sent you a pink one." She nodded to the note that was attached. "They may have signed their name, or added a nice message."

Videl,

Thank you for walking me to breakfast

Amari

Videl took the note and read it over. Amari. He hoped it wasn't a crush because he didn't feel like that. "She should have sent a yellow, or just did nothing." Videl shook his head before turning and leaving, not bothering to thank the girl. The Valentine's thing sounded so stupid right now.

Alice faltered at the boy's words. "Maybe she just liked pink!" She suggested, trying to stand up for this mystery girl. But the boy was already leaving, and Alice frowned after him. Then she turned too and left herself, she wasn't going to be able to cheer up every grumpy person, especially not those that seemed determined to be grumpy.
