Most of the roses have been yellow in Wendy's basket, and a few less of the other ones. This was her second pink rose to deliver and it was for a professor! Wendy blushed, shyly approaching the staff's table. "Hello Professor Phillips." She greeted the man as she held the rose right in front of them.

Jon was sitting at the staff table, chatting happily to Olive when a student approached him. He looked over at the girl as she greeted him, smiling when she offered him a pink rose. Being the sponsor of the wild patch club, he had been well aware of the rose deliveries though he had not expected to receive one himself. "Oh, for me? Thank you!" He exclaimed, accepting the flower. After looking it over for a moment, he returned his attention to the girl. "Is there a note to tell me who sent this?" He asked, hoping that there was indeed a note since it would be incredibly awkward for him to receive a pink rose out of context.

"Your welcome, and yes of course." Wendy pulled out these small little notes that had cute little messages to along with the roses. "Mhm! I've got you right here. And it's actually from Olive." Wendy made a face, pondering if it were from a student, or the professor sitting right besides him. She didn't read the note to be able to tell. "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Note said:
Popcorn buddy,
Cats still win.
Love Olive

Jon continued to smile as he watched as the girl retrieve the note meant to accompany the pink rose. She eventually said it was from someone named Olive, causing Jon to look to Olive who was sitting right next to him raising his eyebrows dramatically. "Olive, huh?" He asked, moving his gaze from Olive and back to the young student so he could accept the note. When he read it, he laughed out loud, noticing the similarities between the note he had sent her. He placed the note on the table in front of him, keeping the rose in his hand as he turned to his colleague once more. "Ooooh pink! Someone likes me!" He exclaimed, mocking Olive's colour choice while brushing the rose against his face. "You signed it with love, too!" The volume of his voice was gradually getting louder as he made fun of his friend, wanting to draw attention to the pair of them for the sake of embarrassing her. He doubted that she meant the rose as anything more than platonic admiration, but it was fun to poke fun at her about it.

Olive had already read Jon's rose, and so when she looked up to see a student deliver one to him too, she smirked as she waited for him to finish reading it, glad that they'd been on a similar wave length. Olive smiled between the student and Jon, her face turning slightly pink like the rose in front of them at his ridiculous teasing. The smile remained on her face though as she watched him do his best at making her feel embarrassed for her choices. She knew they were both aware of the meanings of her rose, but that didn't stop her picking up a sausage roll from the plate in the middle of the table and throwing it straight at his head, watching it bounce off his skull with a snort of laughter, her nose crinkling as she chuckled loudly. She'd was delighted to be able to call the Muggle Studies professor her best friend, and while she was happy to spend time with him it was moments like these that their true friendship shone through. "You're such an idiot." she stated with love once her giggles had settled down enough to speak, before munching on a chicken wing.

Monty wasn't particularly hungry that morning, but it would have taken much more than a diminished appetite to make him decline the opportunity to spend time with his friends. He giggled behind his tea as Wendy delivered Jon a pink rose from Olive. "At least somebody does, eh Jon?" he teased, raising his eyebrows as a sausage roll ricocheted off Jon's head and bounced on the table. "Head-shot."

The impact of a sausage roll against his head cause Jon's mouth to hang open in shock. When he got over the initial surprise a mock offended expression took over his features, only becoming more obvious as Monty piped in. He looked from Olive, to Monty and back again. He was impressed by Olive's aim but he wasn't about to show it. Instead his expression changed again to a mischievous, knowing grin while he placed the flower on the table in front of him. He picked up the sausage roll where it landed on the table and bit into it. "Olive, you know that they say people bully someone when they have a crush on them." He was well aware that assumption was outdated but wanted to taunt his friend with it anyway. In the process of it he did not realize that his actions could be considered as 'bullying' too and that making fun of Olive for her pink rose would be a telltale sign he had a crush on her in return, if either of them had a crush to begin with. Thankfully that was impossible otherwise the situation would have been uncomfortable rather than entertaining.

Wendy, somehow in the middle of them being silly and goofing off. The young puff slowly backed away before she went from innocent bystander to being another involved. Professor Pendleton joined in the teasing. Wendy, haunch over and begin to laugh hysterically. "Oh my god! What is even happening?!" Wendy cries out after her professors. "Okay, that's my cue to go!" Wendy fled, wiping tears from laughing away from her eyes. That was possibly the funniest and most confusing delivery she did today. Nothing will top that.

"See! Monty gets it," Olive grinned down the line, rolling her eyes back at Jon. "Yeah well in your dreams sunshine." There may have been a moment, a long long time ago, when Olive had feelings of a different nature towards the man, but they had been left with a life she no longer lived and the Potions professor had no doubt that what remained between the pair was simply a mutual enjoyment of the others company. She turned her head to the student, her laughter causing the Professor to reflect the amusement herself, "Thanks Wendy," she called out after her, secretly thrilled that their roses had turned out so well.
