one morning a flock of owls entered the great hall each with an identical letter on them. they flew to the students they were designated for mainly third and fourth years. they had come from a third year hufflepuf student. she tried to watch each of the students read them but lost track of where each of them were sitting. so the third year just sat and ate her breakfast deciding to let the other students show up if they wanted to.
the letter said:
you are invited to a picnic tomorrow afternoon at the lakefront. feel free to come down any time and come and join in any time
hope to see you there
Tara

It was March and that meant that the weather was cooling down, but there was still a few more nice warm days left, and thankfully today was one of them. tara made her way to the lakefront with a large hamper levitating beside her, she had decided to invite all of her friends to join her in a picnic to celebrate her birthday. once she found a nice place under the willow tree that she often painted at she stopped and lay out a large picnic rug. she had invited all of her friends down to the lake for a picnic lunch, and an afternoon off.
she then took each of the foods she had organised the elves to make and laid them out, she had tried to think of what everyone liked best. there was her favourite curries, there was sandwiches, cake, fruit, soup, crisps, potato and pasta salads, along with many other things, the one key feature of all of these was that they were all vegetarian, as she was vegetarian herself and she felt odd preparing and distributing meat. once everything was ready she sat down and waited for her friends to arrive. so much had changed since her last birthday, and even more since the birthday before when she remembered that they had had a paint fight. however over the last few weeks she had learned that she couldn't look back to what she was and what she could have done, she had to live with what she had, this she was trying to do. the other week she had gone into what had used to be her favourite place in the castle until the start of the year. and now she realised that she shouldn't hold herself in the past.

Sara was delighted when she got her invitation from Sara-she hadn't seen her in a while. She knew Kate would probably be there, and that wasn't a pleasant thought, but she didn't have to let that stop her and she didn't plan to have any drama, Kate could do what she wanted, it wasn't any of Sara's business anymore-though she did hope her and Stefan got things together.

The next day she went down to the lake, with a basket ofcupcakes, they were chocolate flavour, and she'd gotten some really cool icing and decorations for them. The recipe was simple, but the icing had taken quite a while. she hoped the others liked them. She spotted a girl setting out a blanket on the ground down by the lake and ran down to her. "Tara!" she shouted, slowing as she reached her and setting down her basket, which was covered by a criss-crossed cloth. "Need any help?" she asked, starting to help lay out the food. Tara-Sara-Tara-Sara-she'd always found ti funny-the way their names rhymed, she hummed as she helped. "I haven't seen you in ages! How are you?" she asked, looking up at her companion.

Kate had been surprised when that morning an owl had appeared in front of her with a letter tied on his leg.She had smiled as she had read the letter. It would be a fun occasion even if Sara would be there but their dispute was between them and not their friends no point fighting on Tara's birthday.Kate remembered Tara's first year party. It had been a fun day throwing paint at each other. They must of looked hillarious to the other students but Kate hadn't cared. It was usually the the things that made you look like a fool in front of others that were the best.

Kate set off after making her cookies and getting dressed.Since it was a picnic she had dressed causal. She had also baked biscuits to contribute to the picnic. She didn't know how many were coming so she had just made two batchs of them.As she walked out of the school building she smiled as the sun shone in her face.It was a beautiful day though you could smell autumn. It was a perfect day for a picnic and Kate couldn't help but keep the smile on her face. She heard someone shout Tara and she turned and saw her sister running towards a girl setting out a picnic blanket by a huge tree. She watched as Sara helped Tara. She didn't exactly want to go over there. She had been hoping there would be more people but things weren't always in her favor. She shook her head telling her to get rid of those thoughts. She walked over and smiled when she reached them "Hey Tara,Sara"She said smiling. She saw the food laid out and she couldn't help but feel hungry everything looked lovely and she couldn't wait to dig in."I made some biscuits"She said holding out her tin before opening it and laying it on the blanket. She then went over to her friend and gave her a hug "Everything okay?"She asked. She hoped things were better since they had last met. When she broke the hug she looked at Sara and smiled "How are you?"she asked smiling.

Tra looked up at the sound of someone approaching and was a little surprised to see Sara there, "Hello Sara, I'm glad you could make it. I think I am just about done" she said smiling at her friend, she hadn't spoken to Sara in ages. "I'm good thank you. how about you?" she asked giving her firend a quick hug. she looked at what her friend was doing and realised that she had brought some cupcakes with her. "aww, they are so cute, they look too god so eat" she said. seeing another figure making its way over to them. As kate approached she felt an uneasy energy between the girls, she had hoped for a few more people to be around when the second twin arrived o sort of buffer the unease but apparently not. "Hello Kate" she called before the girl had made it all of the way over. she saw that Kate had brought some biscuits and smiled, they would have plenty of food to feed everyone twice. but that was mainly due to the house elves who had kept pilling things on her when she was in the kitchen. "please miss, you cant have a picnic without crisps"[/b] one had said whilst another two were offering her different things. in the end she had taken some of everything so as not to be impolite. "they look delicious Kate" she said as Kate lay them on the mat. "Everything is great, thanks for asking, how about you, are you okay?" she said, she knew kate knew what had happened last term but she had recovered a lot over the last few weeks and was glad that she had had a friend like Kate. she felt her friends arms around her and gave her a hug back.

It was like any other day that Willow has experienced while she was here at Hogwarts, nothing new happened, nothing extremely interesting happened and she was starting to feel more isolated as the days come. Sitting on the windowsill at her dorm was a common place for Willow to be, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of just gazing down on the lawn and the lake and watching happy students going about in their own business - even from sitting in the tallest tower of Hogwarts she can still smell the pine and the crisp air from down below.

On the other side of the room, she heard small tapping noises, diverting her gaze she noticed the tiny small owl pecking at the window, scroll attached to it's leg. Getting up from her comfy daze she walked to the other side of the room and un-latched the window and pulled it up so the tiny bird can get through, holding out her arm she felt the small grip of the bird and un-tied the parchment from it's leg before giving the small owl a nut to nibble on before watching it sore back to it's home in the owlery.

Un-scrolling the parchment she read the letter - a picnic party down at the lake front the next day. Deciding that she should at least make an appearance she made her way down to the Kitchens to try and think up of something to bring a long - after all, Willow seemed to be the pastry chef amongst her friends.

-----Next Day------

Clipping her hair bow into place, Willow picked up the platter of Petite Fours she made yesterday, thanking her lucky elves that they were set on time. They were delicate, pretty little things but a nightmare to make, just hoping that her friends would appreciate the effort that she put into making them in the first place. She decorated them to make them look like they were little gift boxes, inside each of the petite four she made a simple filling (enhanced with magic of course) that whenever they bite into each one, the filling inside will taste like the sweetest food they love - as if that was the present itself.

Making her way down to the Lakefront, she noticed Tara and Kate was already there - whom she hasn't met much of lately; breathing deeply she put on a smile as she approached closer and gave them a cherry hello. "Sorry I'm late!"

Dymetris invitation for the picnic came as a surprise to him. After his ordeal with Tara at morning breakfast, she still have the characteristic to invite him along. Everything would be better if they didn't talk much to each other. Though it be difficult not too, since they were in the same house and all. This was the first time he wish he had been sorted some place else. Yet the manners in him, told him to shut up and deal with it. He had to act like a gentleman and go along with it now. With nothing to bring to the picnic area, Dymetris decided maybe a gift for Tara would be great. He thought of the simplest gift and at the last minute, the choices were slim. In the last minute he wrote down a poem, maybe a poem would be great he figured?

Walking out of the castle, from far distant Dymetris saw all of Tara's friends already taking part of the invitation. He walk slowly, like if his leg weighted to much for him to walk. But he made it, despite not wanting to be here, he grace Tara and her friends with a smile. "Hey, umm happy birthday Tara" he sauntered forward and gave her a light hug. "Here's your gift, not much but it's something" he gave her the piece of parchment and went back to looking around her group of friends. great, the only guy here.

Poem by Emily Bonte

Tara looked up and saw someone else making their way she realised it was willow. she hadn't spoken to the girl in a while, she knew that she had been off sick, but she wasn't entirely sure how sick she had been. she gave the girl a hug glad that she had been able to make it. "I'm glad that you came Willow. and you are not late at all, the invite was open time-wise she said. realising that the girl was holding a plate of food. "here let me take that." she said trying to be polite. "wow they are so pretty. little presents" she said looking at them, her friends had all bought such cute sweets that she didn't know if she would be able to eat them.
Just then her attention was taken by the next figure making its way towards them. she felt the usual rush of emotions she got when he was around but with the addition of a sort of unease. part of her knew that she was shouldn't have invited him, and that she should let him go and be part of her past, but she couldn't. "Hey. thank you for coming" she said, briefly giving him a light hug but letting go pretty quick before she felt comfortable there. "you didn't need to get anything, none of you did" she said graciously taking the pice of parchment. she read it quickly and smiled. "thank you its very nice" she said tucking it into the hamper so that it wouldn't get blown away, or get anything spilled on it. "help yourself to food guys, i'm sure that some of the others will arrive soon" she said eyeing some of the sandwiches hungrily.

Sara smiled back at Tara. she had gotten Tara a gift, but she'd wait a while before giving it to her. She didn't want to bite the bullet and go too fast. "It's great to see you!" she grinned. She liked Tara, she was so kind and she knew they hadn't seen a lot of each toher, but hopefully that would change soon. "I'm great!" she smiled, enthusiastically-things had been great. She found she didn't need Kate anymore. "Thanks!" she grinned, she'd worked hard on the cupcakes, hoping she had made enough. Plus, she liked baking, always had-ever since she used to help her Mam baking pple tarts back home in Ireland.

Unfortunately, the next person to arrive was Kate. -Speak of the Devil, or rather think of her- Sara thought to herself, indulging in some black humour-she immediately reprimanded herself-she shouldn't think like that. "Hello." she replied breezily. She was an actress, that's how she'd always thought of herself, and what was this, but just another play. Although, pretending to get along with Kate was more of a charade. She watched as Kate greeted Tara, praying to God she wouldn't try to hug her, but Kate was smarter than that. She didn't hate her sister-she didn't like her, but she was more indifferent than anything. she didn't see why things should be awkward, but her friends knew the situation. If they could avoid saying anything about the two of them-everything should go smoothly. "I'm great, thanks-you?" she asked, grinning, she was convincing-no one would see through her. She was able to be mature, and treat Kate like anyone else-it would be interesting to see how Kate reacted to that. Hopefully they wouldn't fight-she wouldn't like that. The effort of getting angry with Kate didn't seem worth it.

She saw Willow arriving and her heart was warmed by the sight of the girl whom she considered to be one of her best, closest friends. her and Stefan. however, her relationship with Willow was much less complicated than with Stefan. "Willow!" she grinned, going over to hug her. "I'd ask you how you are, but seeing as we only met up a few days ago-it might be a bit pointless." she joked "But seriously, how are you?" she grinned, looking to see what was in Willows basket-something amazing no doubt. willow was an amazing cook. "Whoa, Willow-they are beyond cool!" she exclaimed, seeing the little parcels. "They must have been so hard to make."

Dymetris was the next to arrive, Sara didn't really know him, though she knew he'd dated Tara at some stage in second year. She extended her hand and said. "Sara Moon, nice to meet you." she smiled as she said it, casual and breezy. Meeting new people used to be stressful to her. she was always fraid they'd think she was weird, but being surrounded by people you trusted changed that, and she had no problem with it now.

Having received the invitation to the party a day before, the Slytherin had felt very unprepared. It wasn't like he could quickly make her something, like food. He also had nothing to give her, since he barely had anything. Birthdays' were great, he really enjoyed them, but he never had anything to give, and he didn't have the money to buy something for the people he was friends with. Stefan also didn't really know how to cook, so it was not like he could just whip something up. Stefan sometimes had to cook for his father, but then there was so little food in the first place he couldn't really mess it up, not to mention his father just wanted food, if it was burnt or undercooked his father would be beyond angry. Stefan had learned how to not do that, but it didn't meant that what he actually managed to make actually tasted nice. more often than not his father was generally satisfied with whatever Stefan managed to come up with. IN the grand scheme of things, his father knew that he could hardly make large gourmet meals since the had very little food in the first place. And it wasn't like Stefan actually got to eat any of it. It did still leave him with the problem of having a birthday party the next day and having nothing to give to the person. After spending a lot of time, just sitting in the common room thinking about what he could get her, when he figured out that the best possible thing to get was probably just to make something. A card with a very simple apology as to why he could not afford to give her anything. Stefan Archer was a fairly good drawer, he had just never really done it, or had any reason to. He couldn't see colour, it had always seemed a little pointless for him to bother. But he had reason to now. It would take a while, but Stefan was willing to spend the time if it meant he had at least one thing to give to Tara.

It took most of the night to make the card. The colourblind Slytherin had gone to bed just as the sun was rising. He had been hungry, and worn out. His hands were dirty from all the pencil markings he had made. He had a small bin full of attempts at the drawing. Ones almost done, others just beginning, but only the one still on his desk was the one he was actually a little happy about. It wasn't perfect, but the boy had given it his all. And he hoped Tara would be able to see that. If not then Stefan could live with it. Even if she didn't like it, Stefan was pretty certain that she wouldn't mock him like his father mocked him. She'd be kind about it. He was sure. As soon as he'd been done, Stefan had just lain down on his bed and fallen straight asleep. Ignoring the pain that he was feeling in his ribs as he lay on his front. A few hours later, Stefan felt himself jolt awake. As of lately he had found that he'd been waking up during the night after a bad dream. He could never remember the dream once he was awake, but he remembered feeling terrified in the dream. ANd he always awoke with tears coming out of his eyes. The Slytherin had these dreams or nightmares fairly often. But it was mostly when he wasn't comfortable and that triggered them. Stefan woke with thick layer of sweat covering his body and making his clothes stick to his skin. Making him look even skinnier than he did generally. After a what felt like a quick shower, the Slytherin realised that he had to start getting ready for the party. It was fairly simple, the boy had so little clothes to choose from it that it took a matter of seconds. However told the boy was considering not wearing his jumper. It was still sunny and hot outside. He had no reason to not. He was wearing his black jeans and his usual white t-shirt, both old and worn. The jeans and t-shirt however still making Stefan look incredibly skinny. Like he was. But they made it worse. The t-shirt looked as though it was eating Stefan. He was so small in it. Although over the past week or so, Stefan had actually put on weight. It just wasn't clear. Stefan looked over his arms. The bruising around his left wrist where he had sprained it were looking fairly good. Still visible but not bad looking. The bruising on his right hand was fading too. It was still fairly painful, but nothing he couldn't deal with. The rest of his arms were pretty untouched. A few old cuts that were neither deep nor that bad looking. He had a lot of old scars in different places. Ones that had once been pretty bad cuts. But overall the Slytherin was feeling like it wasn't too bad. He could go out without his jumper. Even though he was thinking this the Slytherin still put his jumper around his waist. If it got cold he wanted at least the option of putting his jumper on.

Leaving his dorm room with the card in hand, the colourblind Slytherin headed towards where the letter had told them to go. He didn't really know what to expect. If he ended up having a good time that would be the best. But, if he didn't, well, he could just think of it as good since he knew what it was like to truly have an awful time. Two weeks at home was like hell. A few hours with friends would be easy. Different sure, but easy. The Slytherin was smiling slightly. He was actually a little excited. And he hadn't needed a cheering charm to feel that way. The Slytherin was pretty sure he'd most likely be the only Slytherin to attend but this didn't bother him. He just found it funny that unlike his Slytherin classmates, he didn't think of any of them as people he'd want to be friends with. And of course the feeling was actually mutual since Stefan was a muggleborn after all. As the teen made his way out and to the ground and began walking in the sunny, he spotted the group of people he wanted to be near instantly. A slightly bigger smile appeared on his face. His friends, the people who kept him going over the holiday's. Stefan neared the group and realised that Tara was of course already their, but so were his other closest friends. Kate, Willow and Sara, he didn't know what it was about being around them that made him feel both extremely happy but a little on edge. He guessed it was because they knew. Kate had seen with her own eyes the way his father treated him. There was no denying that when anyone saw that it changed things. But, he cared so much about Kate, and all of them. He didn't want to lose them, so despite the close friend status he still said nothing of what they believed his home life to be like. Stefan felt his dark blue eyes linger upon Kate. And it was as he did this that he noticed the other male. Someone he had never met before.

Stefan now felt a little uncomfortable. He reminded himself that they were here for Tara and he had to ignore what his mind was telling him. So after taking a deep breath the Slytherin continued walking towards them. "Hey" Stefan said as he approached them. He walked to Tara, flashing a small smile at everyone else. His eyes lingering slightly upon Kate, before looking to Tara. "Happy Birthday" He said handing her the card he had made. It was still fairly simple. A pencil drawing of Tara and her friends, with gifts at the front and balloons behind them. As if it was a photo not a drawing. Inside were the words, Happy Birthday Tara! I'm sorry I couldn't get you something better Simple. To the point, just what he knew he needed to do. "It's not much. I'm sorry" He muttered to her as he noticed others had brought food that they had made, and felt bad for not trying harder. Stefan smiled at her. While also looking round at the others. Stefan didn't know what else to do so he took a small step back slightly away from the group and just waited. As much as Kate, Willow, Sara and Tara were his closest friends, he still wasn't sure how to really act at this birthday. He figured waiting until things got under way would be best.

Dymetris ease up to smile, the gift hadn't been the greatest choice and the poem was something he use to read back in Moscow, but she like it. All that matters that she did and if she didn't, he would have to remember next time about gift giving. He extended his hand to greet Sara Moon. He remembered Kate, couple time in the common room, but never did he cross path with Sara Moon. "Nice to meet you and your sister" Kate was there and another girl, he caught her name just in time Tara said it. "Nice to meet you all" he was terribly shy and his people skills stinks. He ended up standing there with his hands in his pockets, this action calm him down when he was a down right nervous.
Thank goodness, another boy came striding up the path with a card in hand. The boy look odd and distant, much like Dymetris except his whole aura spoke different to him. He hated to judge, but he stood silence watching him greet the others and Dymetris kept still to himself. If he watch and chatted a little, time will passed and Dymetris would be able to bail. All this made him so uncomfortable, worst part about is knowing that he may still have feelings for Tara. He's been fighting for weeks to not care about her, but the truth bug him till this day.

Kate smiled "That's great"she said. She had gotten much closer to Tara after their talk at the beginning of Third Year. She was glad of this and she hoped this new friendship would last. "Its great"she said brightly things were great. After seeing Stefan and being assured that he had returned to Hogwarts some weight had been lifted from her shoulders.Kate smiled at Sara, she was rather enjoying this little game with Sara. Acting had never been her sort of thing it had always been Sara's and Kate had to say that her acting was very good.Only that Kate knew that they didn't care for each other anymore she would of believed it herself. But nothing could hide that little niggiling tention between them.It didn't paticularly annoy Kate she was well used to it but she was worried that it might make things a bit awakward so she would try her best to act as if nothing had happened

"Everythings grand"she said pushing a piece of her hair behind her ear. She saw another person coming towards them and she smiled "Hey Willow"she said brightly. She hadn't seen Willow since the Yule Ball. She was worried about her as was many of Willow's friends. She caught sight of Willow's cooking "Wow Willow they're fantastic"Kate said.Willow was by far the best cook she had ever met and probably she would be the best she would ever meet.Kate then saw another person come down and she immediately bit her lip.She had met Dymetris a few times before though she didn't really know him. She smiled as he joined the group.Kate was proud of Tara for inviting him and even though she didn't know Dymentris well she was proud of him too for coming. "Hey"She said smiling at him glad that he recognized her.Her heart went out to the two of them.

Kate looked longingly at the food. She was rather hungry and she couldn't wait to eat some of the food. She looked up when another person entered their group. The familar feelings appeared."Hey"she said in reply. She watched as he gave the card to Tara her eyes on him.She was so much more worried about him now that she had seen what happened. She cared about him so much and she didn't know how she felt knowing somewhat of what happened when he went home. But Kate acted as if she hadn't seen anything. She wouldn't feel comfortable talking about it and also she knew Stefan wouldn't want to talk about it.Who would? When he wanted to tell her she would be there waiting as would Willow,Sara and Tara. "So are we going to dig in or is anyone else due?"Kate asked Tara
.

When Sara introduced herself to Dymetris Tara remembered that he didn't know the others. "sorry where are my manners, dymetris this is Sara, Kate, Willow, and that it stefan, everyone this is Dymetris" she said gesturing to each of them in turn, realising that stefan was making his way down the lawn. When he arrived Tara noticed that he seemed to be paying attention to kate. she was happy about this as those two seemed go good together, and if she couldn't be with who she wanted then she could at least hope that her friends would be able to. "Hello Stefan, glad you could make it." she said as the boy arrived. she knew that the boy wasn't keen on any physical contact so she bowed her head in a traditional welcome. truth be told she hadn't expected anyone to bring her anything, so when Stefan gave her a card he had made her face broke into a wide smile. "don't be sorry, its great. you have all given me what i wanted but just being here" she said. she looked at the picture it was so similar to them all standing there. she knew that there were cracks, sara and kate were not the best of friends, and what had happened between her and Dymetris was not normal but she hoped that they would be able to work through it (and that she would stop getting butterflies when she saw him). but she was happy that she had such great friends, and that they put up with their own personal differences so that they could have a picnic together.
when she heard kate from near the food she laughed. "help yourself. I think that Sapphire is the only person who isn't here, but i don't know if she is coming or not, so there is no point waiting around"she aid making her way over to the rug and taking a sandwich hopeing that the others would follow suit.

Again he waved, and now knew the name of the boy who just join them. Everyone must be from different houses, or else he would've noticed them much more around the common room and his classes. Dymetris followed behind Tara and sat indirectly besides her. He acted like a lost puppy, these were her friends not his, so he was bound to feel awkward. And there was no doubt in his mind that Tara told them about him. "Sapphire? Shame she's not coming" than he would have another friend here, plus Jeremy. First thing his eyes spotted on the set up was Tara's sandwiches. He snag one and piled it next to a few fresh fruits. Like an ant, he ate slowly and in silence. He wonder how much will he have to endure, before he skip out on them. He felt like a terrible friend to Tara thinking like that. "Your spread is great Tara" he mouthed for her to hear alone.

Willow smiled and then cringed - was this a birthday party? ...oh merlin..I must have misread this note...why Willow of all days did you not pay attention? - I didn't even get Tara anything Feeling horrified Willow wandered over to the the food table and looked at the other sort of food that the others have brought. There was a sweet selection from cookies, cupcakes, sandwiches and other sweet things. Everyone here was a good baker and a good cook.

She hung around the table as she watched the others talk and mingle amongst themselves, Willow wasn't really sure what she was supposed to do, she felt like she made things uncomfortable and she hoped that Kate and Sara were playing nicely with each other on a day like this. Picnics to Willow was an enjoyable occasion - even more so if it was for a birthday party. She spotted Stefan approaching and smiled - all her favorite people were here in one place - and possibly make a new friend - she hasn't met Dymetris before and he seemed like a pretty cool guy.

((ooc: Sorry for lame response))

Sara smiled back at her sister. Part of her wished they weren't related, wished she didn't have to see her every day and remember what had happened, how rejected she'd felt. However, it had helped her grow, helped her realise that no matter what anyone else thought about you-you should never change. Because, they were wrong, and that was their problem. You were perfect just the way you were, and that's what she lived by now. She knew that given the choice, she wouldn't have changed the way things worked out, because she wouldn't want to be in the situation she had been in-ever again, and there would always be a danger in that. People had a habit of disappointing you-well some people.

"Good." she smiled brightly, part of her felt strained, part of her wanted to run away, not to have to speak to her, to pretend she didn't exist, pretend she'd never known her, but she couldn't do that. She couldn't lose face. She couldn't let her win. She was distracted, thankfully at Stefan's arrival. "Hey Stefan." she beamed, looking up at one of her best friends, she raised her arm to salute him. "How art thou?" she asked, as he approached them. She saw his card, it was amazing. It looked so realistic, and she knew it would've taken him ages to make it, with his colour blindness, but she made no comment, Stefan could be easily embarrassed, and she didn't want to point out that he couldn't afford a present.

She shoo the boys hand in return-Dymetris, cool name. She knew him and Tara had a history, but didn't ask how they knew each other-that would just make things awkward. "You have a cool name." she replied, voicing her thoughts.

She walked over to Willow, who was wanering on the outskirts of the group. She spoke quietly to her, knowing that Willow had become shy, she wasn't sure why, but she wasn't going to put Willow in a uncomfortable position. "Are you okay?" she breathed, something meant only for Willow's ears. She was determined to ignore the fact that she was dying, having to inhabit the same space as Kate. She picked up a sandwich, plain ham, she only ate ham and cheese sandwiches, she'd never liked salads. "These are lovely." she smiled, as she swallowed her first mouthful.

tara remembered that she had sent a couple of more letters, and took a moment to remember who to, "oh, yeh, and Danielle and Amberly may be coming" she said referring to a couple of the younger students who she had met and got to know. She looked around the group and saw that the twins were alt least pretending to be civil to each other, and she realised that Sara had managed to find a ham sandwich which was odd as she had asked for all the food to be vegetarian. she realised that to people didn't seem to be fitting in Willow and Dymetris. she was going to go and check on willow first before Dymetris because she knew what would be the problem with him. however as she saw Sara go to willow she decided to work it out the other way around. she walked towards the boy pausing at the food to pick up a naan bread and some curry. "I don't know if Sapphire is coming or not. basically i told everyone to just show up" she said realising that she could have done with seeing who was coming or not, she would know for the future. when he complimented her on the food she smiled. "thanks the house elves did most of it, but the red cupcakes were made by sara, the biscuits with jam in were make be Kate, and the cakes that look like Presents were made by willow" she said before realising that she was babbling. "Sorry if you feel uncomfortable here. feel free to go if you want to, its not that i don't want you here, but i don't want you to feel left out. but if you do go make sure you take some food" she said. she knew that seeing him walking to the picnic had helped make her day (even though she knew it shouldn't have), but she didn't want him to feel obliged to be somewhere he didn't want to be.
Once she was sure that he was okay she went over to Willow, who seemed a little worried about something. "Are you okay Willow? do you want me to get you a bite to eat? you name it the elves packed it" she said. putting her arm around her friends shoulder a giving it a reassuring squeeze.

Kate looked at Sara and wondered how were they even related? They weren't one bit a like and they looked completely different though that wasn't uncommon in twins.Kate was surprised by the fact that she was not really annoyed by Sara's presence. It was a relief to Kate because she didn't want any tension at the picnic that would be unfair to Tara and everyone else here. She remembered when an old friend of hers had told her what Sara had supposedly said.Kate had felt a mixture of emotions sadness, anger but also a strange feeling of release.Kate had realized it then she had been to numb to but as the weeks went on she felt better.when she had been told that the friend had been lying she had felt a sense if relief that Sara hadn't actually thought that way about her and she guessed it showed that they would of moved on eventually because if that had happened to people that were really close once they had realized tht it wasn't true they would of gone back to each other but with Kate and Sara they hadn't Kate in a way had still felt hurt and she felt as if she didn't need to go back.To some people that might seem weird or mean but that was the way Kate had felt none the less and even though at the beginning of third year she had felt so much loss after her talk with Tara and some thinking she had realized maybe it wasn't? She realized that she shouldn't of felt still so hurt after being told it was all a lie.She should of felt happy relieved and gone straight back to Sara but she hadn't wanted to and that just proved that maybe they hadn't meant to be close forever.Kate didn't know how Sara felt about all this probably the same way as Kate hadn't seen her after they had been told. She was glad that she didn't because she didn't want Sara feeling sad or anything Kate would feel bad.Knowing Sara though she didn't want to be anywhere near Kate and Kate was grand with that she hoped after a while Sara would learn or maybe just feel the same way Kate was.Kate had moved on and left her old life behind.

Kate waved when Tara introduced Dymentris.Because she didn't know him that well she decided it was appropriate. She watched as Dymentris followed Tara and Sara went over to talk to Willow that left Stefan and her.But as she was hungry and she had learned not to ignore those food pangs she went over and took a salad sandwich. She noticed that everything was vegetarein but that didn't bother her.She walked back to Stefan after collecting her sandwich "How are things"She asked her mood already brighening because he was here.It was strange how one person could just make everything feel better.Stefan probably didn't know it but whenever she saw him it was like her heart started beating faster. He would nearly always bring a smile to her face when she saw him.It was just something she did she did't even think about it really.Even though she worried about him and his health she managed to hide those feelings when around him and friends. She didn't want those thoughts bugging her down she may as well enjoy her time with him.She loved being around him and she hoped things would get better for him in the furture.

Willow felt the attention going towards to her and it made her feel both uncomfortable and angry at herself - this was Tara's birthday party and now the attention was on her. Willow felt the reassuring squeeze from Tara, she was a good friend and she was glad to have a friend like her - all her friends here in fact she was truly blessed to have and thankful to come across such pleasant and trusting friends. She gave Tara a smile; "I'm sorry Tara, I didn't get you anything for your birthday and I'm just feeling a little guilty for it" She came out with the truth, she couldn't possibly hide her true feelings on a friend's birthday party.

She gave Tara a hug and feeling a bit better now she pulled out her wand and pointed at the nearby tree; "However, I feel like can do something though, i've been practicing is this since I've got here...so lets hope this works" Willow waved her wand at the tree and spoke something quietly, small ribbons of color were protruding from her wand, decorating the nearby tree in beautiful hufflepuff colors and small flowers colored with every color from the rainbow. "Wow, that actually worked" Willow smiled, the atmosphere truly did feel a little more happier. "I'm sorry that I was a little down before. But...hey! Let's eat!" Willow laughed and grabbed one of the sandwiches - chicken and pesto, Willow's favourite.

Dymetris was left to endure eating alone. He watched while he took a few bites of his sandwich, Tara comfort her friend name Willow. Selfless, Tara worried about her friend, rather than ignoring the girl, she wanted Willow to feel as comfortable as possible. Dymetris admired his ex girlfriend caring characteristic, but he fell odd sitting there alone. Thought time continued to tick away, the boy grew tired of being here. His energy left him the night before, so it was no shock when he stood up to leave. Tired and restless, he yarn the wanting of being in his bed today. .He felt bad, but he was afraid he couldn't deny himself of the sleep he needed.

He walk over to Tara and ask quickly if he could have a word with her. The exchange took no longer than five minutes, he explained why he was leaving and by any chance he could make up the time with her alone some other time. He briefly hugged her and said his goodbye to the group of friends, he made exit to the cast;e entrance. Relieved, he took his time walking up the steps to the common room.

Tara saw that Kate and Stefan were standing together and smiled she was happy to give those two some time together as they were just such a cute couple. she looked at Willow as she spoke, she didn't realise that she felt guilty for not getting her anything for her birthday. "Oh, Willow, thats nothing to worry about, those cakes you bought were amazing, and anyway i never said that it was a birthday party" she said, in fact she had been surprised that the people who had remembered her birthday had. she watched as willow did some pretty amazing magic, and banners and flowers decorated the tree that they were near. "wow, that was magic, you must show me how to do that" she said looking at all of the bright colours, they made the place seem much more partyish. "no need to apologise being down, everyone is allowed to from time to time, but the food is good. I'll be over in a couple of minutes" she said adding the last bit when she saw Dymetris walking over to her.
she listened to what he had to say an nodded. she realised that here probably wasn't the right place for him to be at the moment, no matter how hard she had hoped for the alternative. "I am sorry you didn't enjoy it. maybe I shouldn't have invited you, if it made you feel uncomfortable" she said realising now that fourth years didn't really want to hang around with a bunch of third years that he didn't know, but she was happy that he had made the trip into the grounds to join in. "Thank you for coming, and I am sure that we will see each other around, but before you go take some food, as there is way too much here for us" she said before briefly returning his hug and watching him walk up to the castle. she then headed back over to the rug to take a curry puff and some mango juice.
