Felix had made a point not to ask anyone to the Valentines Dance this year. He'd been hanging out more often than not with Cassie, but he was also well aware that whatever they had was purely for fun, and purely temporary. He liked it he didn't have to worry about the future of whatever it was they had, because after Esme, Felix knew he wasn't cut out for a real relationship, but it was still strange to think she wouldn't be here in a few months. With any luck, Tori would be back though, so at least there was something to look forward to at the end of the year.

Felix sauntered through the Great Hall, before taking a seat in one of the comfortable looking chairs, observing those on the dance floor. He had no intention this year of dancing, but he was curious to see who else would turn up to the dance in the first place.

She didn't have a crush on him or anything, not really, and if anyone asked her she would have denied it anyway, but she'd heard several girls had gotten pink roses from Felix, so she probably wasn't that special, but she had gone to the Yule ball with him, that counted kind of for something right? Well, when her roommates had asked who they thought was cute, she was pretty sure they'd all agreed that Felix was on their list. She wasn't going to tell him that though. "Hey Felix!" She said, trying to pretend that there top parts of her cheeks weren't slightly pinker than normal. "I didn't get to say thanks earlier, for my rose, I mean," she said, fidgeting just a little bit.

Felix looked up as he heard his name, it taking a couple of seconds to register that it was Christa that had come over. Honestly the lights in this place might have been romantic but they were hardly practical. "Hey!" He smiled, "I'm glad you liked it." Or at least, he assumed she did, given she was now here thanking him for it. He'd sent roses to anyone he was happy to spend time with, or perhaps, people he wouldn't have minded spending more time with. It hadn't been intentional that most of them were Gryffindors, nor roommates, but such was the way. "Are you here with anyone?" Felix asked, wondering if Christa was just coming by to speak to him before joining her date. They'd gone together as students in other houses for Halloween, but Felix fully expected her to have a dance by the time Valentines came around.

She had liked it, though she realised he hadn't actually said that. "Yes! I did like it, it was very sweet!" Wow, okay, calm down Christa. It was just a rose. Was she the first to thank him? She kind of hoped so. When he asked her if she was here with anyone, she resolutely shook her head. "No I'm here on my own this time. No one asked me and so I just decided to come on my own," she had kind of thought someone would have asked her, maybe Felix - but she wasn't going to tell him that because she didn't have a crush on him. She would deny it to anyone who asked. She didn't even know what a crush was at her age really. She thought quite a few of the boys in the upper years was cute that didn't mean she had a crush on all of them. "Did you come alone as well?" She asked, looking to see if anyone looked like they might have been heading over to be with him.

Felix wasn't sure whether or not that was a dig that Felix hadn't asked her. He hadn't asked her to go to the Yule Ball either, although it wasn't because he hadn't enjoyed Halloween nor did he want Christa to think he'd had a problem with her. "I would have asked you, but, I didn't know if you'd wanna come," it wasn't exactly the truth, but it would be enough to show that he hadn't minded her company, right? "Yeah," the third year nodded, "I guess I didn't know if I wanted to come either," another stretch of the truth, but the statement did what it needed to do. Felix waved a hand to the seat next to him, "You're welcome to join me if you want to." Maybe Christa was just popping by to say hello, or to thank him for the rose and then be on her way to meet up with her friends, but the offer was there. "You look good by the way," he added.

Christa nodded as he said he would have invited her, well that was nice at least. She had thought maybe he hadn't wanted to hang around her anymore, though he had sent her a rose so it was hard to say. Sometimes boys didn't make any sense. And they said girls were hard to read. She didn't think she was very hard to read at all honestly. Julian made no sense to her either, he was always upset every time he saw her. Like that one time she had a towel on her head. She'd just been trying to dry her hair! "It's okay, I didn't expect you to ask me," well maybe a little. She'd thought Yule was a bit of a fluke. But she was sure he had other friends too, so maybe he wanted to spend time with them, she couldn't blame him. So she took a seat beside him and smoothed out her dress. "Thanks!" She liked her dress and she thought the blue really made her hair stand out. "You look nice too." Obviously. Felix always looked nice.
