Rose had always liked to wear goofy and funny outfits for Halloween, so this year she had decided on something funny. Though she knew that it wasn't the most original idea, it was still a lot of fun. Besides, walking around in her pajamas felt extremely comfortable, which was a definite plus. She was going to the feast as a date, her first official date with Kauri. They were dating now, and even though that felt a little strange, Rose was also very happy. She hoped she could also talk to some friends, as she didn't want this to be a very formal date. But things between her and Harley and Hayley still weren't back to normal. Perhaps they would run into Corrine? She was a mutual friend of theirs. Rose smiled at Kauri as they entered the great hall together. "Do you need to sit down, old man?" She teased him gently. She liked that Kauri wore something a bit silly and fun too, they were well matched in that regard. Rose glanced around, excited for the night. "What do you want to do?"

Kauri loved Halloween, but it was difficult to stay focused on the holiday today. Today was also a date, his first real, proper date with Rose. He hadn't been able to forget about their first kiss since the holidays, and after liking her for so long, it still felt almost like a dream that Rose was really his girlfriend. Kauri couldn't help his nerves, hoping he wouldn't do anything wrong. It had been so long since he had dated Tristan, and at the time the older boy had set the tone for their relationship. He didn't know if there were things he should be doing, but for the moment, Kauri simply resolved himself to be the best boyfriend he could, and do his best to make Rose happy.

The fact that they both had funny costumes definitely helped ease Kauri's nerves for tonight, as it was something they could joke about together. He laughed at her comment, shaking his cane slightly. "I'm as sprightly as I ever was, whippersnapper!" He said in a fake old man voice, then giggled slightly, dropping the voice. He looked around when she asked what to do, shrugging slightly. "Wanna check out the mirror tent?" He asked, gesturing down the room with his cane.

Rose caught herself looking around for Harley and Hayley, and when she didn't spot them anywhere she felt a little sad. They were probably somewhere together, not even thinking about her. That thought hurt, but she tried to push it away so she could focus on a fun night with her boyfriend. She wished her fight with her friends didn't hang over her like a cloud every time she was with Kauri, but her friends' comments about him kept coming back to her. She giggled at Kauri's joke, but was also glad when he dropped the voice. "Let's go! I bet you look ridiculous in that costume in a fun-house mirror. I want to see." She said, grinning. She had taken an empty coffee cup as a prop, and waved it around with enthusiasm. "Then we can get drinks, I need coffee." She was going to fill it with punch later, but pretend it was coffee.

Kauri giggled and nodded at Rose's comment. He hesitated a moment before reaching out and linking his fingers with her, smiling shyly as he began walking towards the tent with Rose. It still felt strange to think of her as his girlfriend, still felt almost impolite to reach out and hold her hand after holding back out of respect for so long, but one look at Rose's face reassured him. He laughed when she waved her coffee cup, nodding in agreement. "Just make sure you don't fill up on sweets, eh? You kids and your lollies and fizzy drink, it's far too much sugar..." He teased in his old man voice, shaking his cane again as he spoke.

While Kauri wasn't Rose's first boyfriend, this did all feel kind of new and different. Rose felt herself blush as Kauri linked their fingers together, and she returned his shy smile. She hoped this would be a fun evening. She was about to lean in to kiss him on the cheek, when he started to speak in his old man voice again. Rose burst out laughing, then shook her head. "Please stop doing that, it makes it hard to kiss you when you sound like a grandpa." She said between laughing. "No kisses until you talk like yourself." She then declared, sticking out her tongue at him. The two made their way to the tent, and Rose peeked inside. "Dare you to knock on one of those rattling coffins." She said immediately.
