Mitch laughed as Phillip went on to pay for the ice cream. “I’ll pay on the next date, Hun.”
 
"Yeah, sure," he didn't even really register what she'd said, or what that meant.
 
Mitch chuckled and watched as Phillip went on to buy ice cream just as Lorelai began to tell the tale about her adventures at the park.
