🌹 Rose Giving Nothing Quite Like The Smell Of Fresh Roses

It was, without a doubt, Nia's favourite time of the year again. AKA ROSE GIVING!!! Las year she'd given out so many roses and it had been way to much fun so she hadn't hesitated when signing up for it again this year. First on her list was someone called Rion, she had no idea who that one was but she had the same last name as her tutor Monty. Nia really liked Monty, he'd been very nice to her since the beginning and she planned to ask him for advice regarding her next year's electives. "Rion? Rion. Are you Rion?" She sang while walking down the side of the Ravenclaw house table. "Rion Pendleton where are youuu?" She sang more quietly to herself, popping her head between students every now and then to ask them if they were this Rion girl. "Aha, you look like a Rion, are you?" She asked the latest girl, no idea if she actually did look like a Rion but you know, semantics.

Rion didn't expect to get any roses this year. She didn't expect to get roses any year. But still, a small, romantic part of her hoped she might have finally have got herself a secret admirer. It was a hope she clung to every Valentine's Day, no matter how unlikely it seemed, and every time she was sadly disappointed. So when he heard someone calling for a Rion, she thought she must've heard wrong. No - she was definitely saying Rion. "I'm a Rion," she said, raising her hand. ​

Mania shot towards the girl that had identified herself as Rion, it having not been the girl she'd just asked, alas she'd found her anyways. "Hello, I have a rose for you!" She said taking out the yellow rose with a note attached. "Oh also out of curiosity are you related to Monty Pendelton? He is my tutor, he is awesome!" She couldn't help herself from asking the question, she needed to know. Besides it was true Monty was awesome.

We should have another game some time or something. You seem pretty cool, I only wish we'd hung out more before this year. Love Ten x

Oh. Yellow. But that was still nice. Rion took the rose, but she didn't even have a chance to read the note before the girl started talking about Monty. "Oh. Uh-huh. He's my granddad," she said, with a hint of pride. "What's your name?" Monty didn't talk about his students, but maybe she could pretend he did, for the sake of brightening her day.

She read the note. Wow. Ten... liked her? She thought Rion was cool? Rion had never been called cool before. She'd spend most of the camping trip sitting by herself, feeling too shy to talk to anybody. That wasn't cool at all. Honestly, she'd thought Ten and Ned wouldn't want her hanging out with them. Maybe she'd been wrong after all.​

Mania smiled, she thought Rion was lucky. To have a grandpa like Monty. When Rion asked for her name Nia didn't hesitate. "Mania!" She said happily, though she doubted the girl knew of her. "You have very pretty hair," And as though in response her stomach started growling. AWKWAAAARD. "Uh do you mind if I sit with you for a bit, I was so excited about the roses I didn't even have the chance to eat breakfast yet... I get very excited about things I'm sorry." She wasn't sure why she apologised for it but Rion seemed nice enough, maybe she'd eat a little something with her before continuing on her way with the rest of the deliveries.
