Agnes had managed to get away with avoiding most people since coming back to school, and while she knew she was going to have to face the music at some point, she still wasn’t convinced now was the time. She kept trying to tel herself that she was just learning the language that girls used with one another, but the more she looked into it and questioned her own opinions the more she was struggling to keep part of herself buried down. Today was the Halloween feast no doubt, and the fourth year was out of her common room but only because she wanted some food she could take back to her room. She moved quickly past the large doors that looked into the Great Hall, risking a glance inward and hoping that she managed not to catch anyone’s eye. She wasn’t dressed in anything more than dark jeans and a black sweater, and dodging between the crowds she just wanted to grab some snacks so that she could go back into hiding.​

Elsie was tired. The fest was moving along without her, she'd shown up and made her presence known, so now it was time to leave, only, as she was leaving, she spotted a familiar head she hadn't seen a lot of lately. And as much as she wanted to be a little bit mad and just keep walking, she missed Agnes and wanted to be around her and she wasn't stupid like Rowan, so she wasn't going to make the same stakes she made with Elio. "Finally slither out of your nest did you?" She asked, which maybe came out a little sadder than she'd meant it to. She always looked good and it pained Elsie that she was too scared to tell her so, since last time she'd tried to compliment Agnes hadn't gone so well. She wasn't good at this. "It's good to see you, are you hanging around a little?"​
