Open after Flynn

Ivy had been surprised to hear Flynn had no costume planned for the Halloween Feast, nor did it seem like he had any intention of going. Thankfully, she was able to talk him into it, though without a costume. He claimed he was going as someone without a costume, but she didn't think it counted. Ivy held his hand as they walked to the Great Hall from the Gryffindor common room, partly because she liked holding his hand and partly because she wanted to make sure he was actually going. Her own costume hadn't taken her a lot of effort, but she still thought it was at least pretty original. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but Ivy really wanted to win the costume contest sometime, and she only had two more shots before she graduated. Once they arrived at the Great Hall, Ivy glanced at Flynn, who looked rather yellow through her visor. "If you really want to leave after a while, that's okay." She said as she didn't want him to feel obligated to stay all night. She smiled. "But I'm glad you're here." She added quietly.

Flynn hadn't had any intentions of going to the Halloween Feast. He hadn't gone in years. The only reason he was there now was that Ivy wanted to go. Though he didn't know why she would want to go. The best part of Halloween had always been eating buttloads of candy and going trick or treating. But you couldn't go trick or treating when you were stuck in a castle. So, the whole thing had sort of lost its interest and Flynn didn't really get any enjoyment from dressing up in some stupid outfit. Which was exactly why he hadn't bothered to get dressed up for the occasion. "I don't mind sticking around for a bit if you are," he offered with a small smile of his own, giving Ivy's hand a squeeze as he did so.

Ivy grinned when Flynn said he wouldn't mind sticking around for a bit. She squeezed his hand back. "Awesome, then I'll pretend to forget you're being boring and not wearing a costume." She said with an exaggerated frown and shake of her head. She smiled to show she was joking, mostly just glad he was here with her. "Let's get snacks." She said to start, dragging Flynn over to the snack table and looking over at the selection. She finally let go of his hand to pour herself a drink. "See anyone we know?" She asked, glancing around.

Flynn made a mock face of hurt when Ivy dared to insult the effort he put into his outfit. "I am wearing a costume. It's just beyond your comprehension." It was probably past most people's comprehension and everyone was just going to think he was lazy. Which was true, but he wasn't about to admit it. And he certainly wasn't going to complain about snacks, letting Ivy pull him over towards the assorted snacks on offer. But then she asked about people they knew and Flynn wrinkled his nose, having a quick glance around. "It's impossible to tell who anyone is when they're all dressed up." He wanted to add on 'like idiots' at the end but refrained from doing so. He didn't think Ivy would appreciate the insult.
