Hera had exams to prep for so she had come to the library, a place she only came to when she needed somewhere without any distractions aka the few weeks before exams. In her family failure was unacceptable, especially for her. She was the oldest so she was to set an example to her younger sisters in every field of life, not like it was supposed to be her parents setting that example or anything. They had barely managed to set an example for her other than how to get from one place to another and how to move around as often as possible. Hera had always been good at school, everyone assumed it was something that came naturally for her but unfortunately it wasn't. She worked for it hard. Countless hours in the library went into the success of her grades and that was something none of them saw since school was away from home for them.

So there she was, head buried in a book about what the f*ck was it even about? Honestly her mind had been racing about what the break would look like enough that she had no idea what subject she had in front of her now. With bleary eyes the Wampus put her book down and let out a deep sigh, turns out she had in her haste picked up a second year history of magic book. Honestly the year had already been anxiety filled knowing first of her younger sisters was now all on her own on the other side of the world at school and she had only received one, ONE letter so far...

Lennox knew he shouldn’t have been doing it, but he had been trying to balance a chair on two legs when he caught sight of Hera at another table. She always seemed to look like the weight of the whole school was pressing down her shoulders. He let the chair drop with a soft thunk and headed over, plopping himself in the seat across from her without so much as a hello. He really couldn’t say why someone so pretty was fretting so much about everything. She was too young for worry like this, or whatever it was. “You know that’s a second-year book, right?” he asked, nodding to it like she hadn’t just realised it herself. He reached across the table and tugged on it, to take it out of her hand and looked over it. “You studying for your big return to the glory days or just collecting dust for sentimental reasons?”

Hera's eyes shot up as someone tugged at the book and then it was out her grasps, what? She blinked a few times at the boy, Lennox. His comment made the Wampus roll her brown eyes, now of course she had known it was a second year book. "No genius, I wasn't collecting dust just... Preparing to be the 'oh so perfect example'." She made air quotes and mimicked her mama's thick Greek accent. To be fair maybe reading that book would give her a better chance at helping her sisters around if she had her own memory refreshed. "On a second thought, maybe I really should read it after all." She shrugged reaching over the table for him to return the book.

Lennox held the book just out of her reach, and smirked before flipping it open as though he was suddenly an expert in history, or something, one of the classes he had paid the least amount of attention in. “Oh yeah, because nothing says cool big sister energy like brushing up on goblin rebellions from a decade ago. Bet your sisters are losing sleep just wondering how Gringott’s banking laws evolved,” he should know, because he was definitely a cool big brother. Queenie told him so, on a fairly regular basis. “Man, your mum sounds terrifying. No offense. Actually - scratch that. Full offense. Parents really know how to mess us up in fun little overachieving ways, huh?” Not that he would know about that, since he suspected his parents were a little more relaxed about things than most were. He finally let the book slide across the table towards her lazily. “Here. Knock yourself out. But if you start quoting dates at me, I swear I’m bailing.” Not that she’d invited him, but he liked to think she at least enjoyed his company, since he was so much fun to be around and all. “Still think you need a break though. Ten minutes. No books. Just you, me, and some serious avoidance of responsibility. Could be educational in its own way.”

Hera narrowed her eyes at the boy, he must have sooo much experience being a cool big sister then. "Lucky for me, i am not looking to be the cool big sister. I am looking to be the responsible one, one that can set a good example." She remarked. She raised her brows at the comment about her mum, Sofia Athanasiou wasn't for the weak but Hera would hardly call her terrifying. She took the book back and was about to open the book back out when he made another comment, "Who said you needed to stay in the first place," If he didn't like studying he was free to go, though then he mentioned a break and the Wampus took a look at the time on the clock. She'd been at this for hours perhaps she could use a small break. Biting her lip with indecision Hera looked back at the book and then at the boy, decision made she put the book back down closed completely. "Fine, ten minutes, that's how long you got of my undivided attention. Make the most of it." She challenged him crossing her arms over her chest and leaning back in her seat slightly.

Well, he definitely wasn’t going to walk away now. How could he when she was happily challenging him like this. Lennox felt like maybe he’d just won the game he was the only one who knew they were playing. He was surprised she was giving him even ten minutes, he had been hoping maybe for five, but he wasn’t going to complain about extra time. He dragged his chair a little closer and flipped it around so that he could lean on the back of it. He hoped he looked impressive. “Guess I better make it count before your Responsible Sister Mode kicks back in.” He grinned, tilting his head a little at her and shook his head. He liked Hera, she was fun to be around, even if he wasn’t around her all that often.

“Alright, serious question to kick things off: if you weren’t stuck being the model child™, what would you be doing right now? And don’t say reading second-year textbooks for fun. That’s not a dream, that’s a cry for help.” He looked at her, playful but genuine, he really needed to make more friends and he felt like maybe she could be a friend if she was up for it. Still, sometimes he knew he should be a little more or he supposed less himself, but to be honest, if someone didn’t like him for who he was then that was just on them. He wasn’t going to pretend to be something he wasn’t. “And no pressure, but your answer may determine whether I declare you secretly cool or tragically beyond saving.”
