New Friend in a Nice Place

"I don't need it, but it looks interesting. And I can usually pronounce stuff pretty well. And just a tip from my friend Lexi, to reverse some spells, e.g. the Leg-Locker curse, just say "Infinite" and it will be reversed." Hiria said.

"Oh. I'll have to remember that," Sarah says, getting a quill and some paper and wrote the tip Hiria said. "You know, I think you're very smart. What you say is always useful. Very useful." Sarah compliments Hiria.

"Yup. Honest. I learned lots from you today even if it's just one tip." Sarah tells Hiria.

Suddenly something dawned on Hiria. "Whoops! I got it a little bit wrong. It's supposed to be Finite, not Infinite." Hiria said feeling idiotic.

Sarah chuckled. "That's okay. Everybody makes mistakes. Just don't always repeat them." She told Hiria.

Hiria was glad that she had such an understanding friend as Sarah. "Can I tell you something?" Hiria asked Sarah.

"You can tell me anything as long as you want to tell me." Sarah says simply to Hiria.

"I'm a bit depressed. I don't have a date for the Yule Ball. But then again, no one ever really asks me to dances, so I either go alone, or I don't go. " Hiria said to Sarah.

"Hmm..." Sarah thinks. "Do you have to have a date for the Yule Ball? When is it again? I forgot." Sarah asks. "Don't worry, hopefully, you'll find one. You should go there, because, I'm pretty sure you'll have fun, whether you have a date or not. When you don't have a date, hang out with friends. It's better to be with them than a random person. Well, at least in my opinion." Sarah tells Hiria.

"I will, It's just that I was hoping, that even if it was just once, I'd get a date. I will definitley go though." Hiria said.

"Oh well. Good luck." Sarah tells Hiria. "Why don't you ask them? Maybe. Maybe, only, they'd say yes. You know." Sarah advises Hiria. She didn't really care if she agrees or not. Her suggestion was pretty much lame, that Sarah was sure, Hiria would disagree.

"The problem is, I don't know who to ask. I only have 2 friends here who are guys, and I don't know if I like them in that way." Hiria said.

"Why don't you go around and...socialize?" She suggested. Then she had another "I-don't-know-if-it's-a-good-idea" thought. "Err...maybe...you can ask them as friends?" She suggests again. She knew some Muggles who ask their friends as dates when they need one. But in this world, she didn't know if they do that.

"I suppose I could. Thanks Sarah." She said, and smiled knowing that Sarah was trying to be helpful.

"You know, you don't have to do what I always say. I'm just saying. Or suggesting." Sarah was looking for the right words. Right now, she has no date. But she didn't care, she thinks she's too young to even care, but she liked being helpful when it comes to different types of problems. "I just have one question," Sarah grins. "Are you really going to do what I said? I don't mind if you don't. Honest." She asks Hiria.

"I might." Hiria said grinning trying to give that being-mysterious-while-joking effect.

"Really?" Sarah asks, with her one eyebrow raised and smirking. "Who are you planning to go with? What are you going to wear?" She asks.

"My friend Hamza I think already has a date, so I might ask my friend Claude. I don't know what I'll wear yet. Something purple, maybe?" Hiria said. Purple was her favourite colour.

"What do you mean he thinks you already have a date?!" Sarah exclaims. Uh-oh. "Sorry, I'm really sorry, I had an "argument" with a friend and I..." she trails of. Relax, Sarah. Inhale. Exhale. Deep inside, Sarah wanted to scream because of him. Her face was tomato red. Inhale. Exhale. "Sorry again," she smiles. "Oh, okay, well, at least you have an upcoming date already, and I'm sure you'll look good whether it's purple or not." she tells her.

"I was saying that HE already has a date, not me. Oh well." Hiria said. Hiria hoped Sarah would talk about something else, because she was lost for words.

"Oh..." Sarah nods. "Have you ever had a best friend and you had an argument with her?" Sarah asks. This wasn't about him, because...she couldn't really say, but she didn't like it. "Or him?" She asks. Now she thinks she needs help.

"I've had a few arguments, nothing major usually, except for that one time......." Hiria paused then said "I don't really want to talk about it." She said then shuddered at the memory. It was something she regretted saying to one of her best friends, even though the friend didn't remember, but Hiria did. It had haunted her ever since. She'd said something stupid, and didn't mean it. She had Aspergers Syndrome , and that sometimes meant that she burst out with stuff she didn't mean.

She smiled. "That's okay. Nobody wants to remember bad memories." She sighed.

"It's alright." Hiria said. Sarah hadn't meant to. "How do you think you'll do in flying next semester?" she asked.
