Vader had not particularly known what to do for halloween, he had never been invited out with others and his parents growing up had really taken advantage of their love of star wars to put him in costumes he hadn't understood at the time. But, because of that, Vader hadn't actually planned a costume at all for this event and only last minute had he decided what he would go as. The young gryffindor had written to his parents for some ideas and they had clearly allowed his sister to be a princess for halloween because they'd sent him pink body paint and pink hair spray, so with nothing else Vader had used that. He had put bits of the body paint around his body, painted some on to an old black shirt and old worn trousers. He had put some on his face and positively covered his hair in it. It was a little odd, he looked pink, but it wasn't glaring obvious that was his costume, he mostly looked like a zebra who'd accidentally fallen into pink paint that had only stuck to it's white stripes, but with nothing else, Vader wore it to the great hall. At the very least he had his camera so if he felt awkward at any point he could rely on that and technically the job he was supposed to do for Accio. He was wondering about the hall, he'd yet to make any friends, so mostly he was just wondering around. Hoping that he could enjoy himself, maybe the tent would be a fun thing to visit. He had time during this night, and he was just going to have to lean into to being a colour for halloween. At least he could say that he deeply contrasted the dark and spooky atmosphere that the room was going for with his bright pink.

The First Year was proud of her genius creation. She didn't have any money to buy a costume, but after hearing all about House competitions and wars, and being very proud of the house she was in, Uno had poured paint on a scarf, and spare bit of fabric to wear as a cape. Then, with help from an older student (because lets face it, Uno knew nothing about magic), she had used the flashing paint charm to change both objects to colors of the different Houses - all except Slytherin. Because, to be a student in any of the other Houses would be horrific, and the scariest. She was sure she'd had the scariest costume of them all. Uno grinned as she entered the Great Hall, the place was amazing. Far better than anything her mother could have ever dreamed of. She wished she could have sent pictures of it to her friends, or even snapchatted the party, but the stupid place didn't allow muggle technology. She was still bitter about it. However, she did see a boy who had a camera. Her eyes lit up - how did he get it to work? Rushing over to him, Uno realized he was wearing pink, but she couldn't figure out why. There weren't any pink Houses were there? "Yo, kid, how'd you get a camera to work here?"

Vader was happily minding his own business when a girl spoke. There was no friendly introduction, just a yo kid. He looked to the person, a girl, who was certainly in his year and she seemed like a nice enough person on the face of it, though her costume was a little weird and she was asking a rather blunt question. He had come to realise that camera's that he'd brought with him from the muggle world didn't work, much like all of the muggle stuff he'd brought. Most of it, he'd sent back to his parents, since he really wouldn't need it here with him. The young gryffindor took it in his hands, "It's a magical camera," he told the girl, perhaps she was like him, from the muggle world and just figuring the different quirks of the magical world, "It takes pictures that move," he told her, he wasn't sure how hard to go into the explanation, he wasn't too sure he wanted to out himself as a muggleborn to many people, only the older girl in slytherin knew about his origin and he'd really rather keep it that way, and if this girl was muggleborn there was no doubt that she'd find his name hilarious. But, Vader took the camera off and held it out to the girl to look at it, so she could see for herself that it wasn't a muggle camera, though the style of magical cameras seemed to be catching up in a way to the way muggle ones had been. Vader did also want to ask her about her costume, but he figured one thing at a time.

Uno's mouth dropped open in shock as he explained what he was holding. That was incredible! The boy then held it out to her and she grinned, taking it in her hands, looking at it. "You're messing with me!" Uno exclaimed, holding it up to her eye to take a photo, before realizing she'd have to turn it on first. She quickly fiddled with it, before lifting it up and taking a picture of the boy in front of her, then moving it back towards the boy. "Now how do we get it to move? Mr - what's your name again?"

Vader was a little surprised by her reaction to him saying it was magical, and barely had any time to react as she took the picture of him. Since it was a moving picture it was likely to only look like he was very bewildered by the picture which he was in a way. There just hadn't been enough time for him to pose for it. The boy couldn't help but share in this girl's excitement over the camera, it had been his own reaction to it when he had seen in one of the magical stores, he couldn't not have it. The boy had used it several times before he had realised he wouldn't be able to get them instantly, it had been a good thing therefore that he'd been brought on to the yearbook team and therefore had access to the facilities he would use to be able to develop the pictures, "The pictures need to be developed, and the process with the film in the camera makes it move," the boy explained, "Like those darkroom things that muggles have," Vader hoped that she wouldn't notice that he hadn't introduced himself by focusing on the fact that they had to be developed and that she wouldn't be able to see the picture directly. He didn't know whether to tell her why he could, "I'm an intern for the yearbook, so I have access," Vader added, figuring it was better to tell her than to not, where she might have more questions, this way she would hopefully forget that he hadn't said anything about introducing himself.

Uno listened to the boy talk, she didn't quite understand what a dark room was, but apparently she wasn't going to get her picture straight away. She thought it was cool that the school had a yearbook though. It was disappointing that the camera wasn't like a Polaroid, it would have been cool to see it move straight away, like the portraits in the corridors did (the first time that happened, Uno thought she was going insane). "Sweet deal, how did you hook yourself up with that gig?" She asked, "Is my picture going to be in the Yearbook then? I mean the one I took. Of you. Hey what are you dressed up as anyway? I didn't think this place had Houses that were pink."
