Now that it was getting cooler outside, it wasn't quite as comfortable to be sat out on the grass than it was to be spending time inside the castle instead. At least, not unless the goal was to wrap up and go for a walk or do an activity that would be more than just letting the cool air slap him in the face. He had enough of that at home. Then again, home was a bit of a stretch these days.

Instead, Eoghan had taken up a sort of nest area underneath the winding Divination stairs. The dark blue carpet at the bottom was perfect for him to spread out various books and study materials, and with Lilith there too they'd been enjoying the afternoon to themselves before the break. He simply didn't want to think too hard about what the summer was going to be like for him this year, and what it would be like to face Imogen after the things she'd been saying to him in her letters over the last few months.

With his back up against the wall, and with Lilith's back against his chest, Eoghan was chuckling quietly at his own stupid joke. "I think if aliens did exist, we'd know by now," the Ravenclaw smiled again. Muggles would often blame the things they couldn't explain on the paranormal or claim that it must be aliens, but anyone who was privy to the magical world knew better. "Maybe there are some, somewhere, and much too far away for us to ever find, but I don't believe they'd have anything to do with what we experience today," he was saying, flicking the next page of their History book in Lilith's lap.

The school year had been rather busy, there was a lot to do all the time albeit it was sort of her own fault for picking so many electives. Then again she could also blame it on the electives for being interesting, but there was no winning that war. Honestly with balancing her life between lessons, homework, quidditch and some of the clubs she was part of there was little to no free time for the Ravenclaw, which honestly she didn't mind at all. She liked being busy most of the time, but bit of time she got away from the hassle to spend with her friends, cat or boyfriend was much appreciated.

They were currently tucked nicely under the stairs reading through he History book when Eoghan made a comment that made the brunette let out a soft laugh. Turning her head sideways, so that she could glance back at her boyfriend she raised a brow. "You think so? I don't know, maybe they are using some sort of mind control to make us forget what we know or not figure it out.." She was half joking, but a part of her thought that probably could be true too. Who knows what might live out there, after all Muggles thought magic didn't exists yet it did, right in front of them at times. Eoghan seemed to echo that thought of them possibly existing somewhere but doubting they'd have anything to do with things they experienced. "Yeah, probably not." She agreed, if they did she hoped she'd never find out about that. It was sort of a creepy thought that they'd be meddling in their business and quite frankly sometimes ignorance was bliss. Turning her head back towards the pages of the book Lilith leaned her head into her boyfriends chest and sighed. "Can you believe we are going into fourth year next year? It feels like we just started our first one just yesterday." It was crazy how fast time seemed to run by, scary too.

Eoghan caught Lilith's glance when she questioned the aliens, his own mind now wandering in possibilities. "I mean, it could be. I doubt it's allowed but.." no, that would be silly, wouldn't it? "Legilimency and Occlumency, those are the abilities to control a mind or block others from it," he thought out loud, "Wouldn't that be just as bad as using Imperio? Of planting ideas or thoughts into someone's head, especially if they couldn't defend it." He was trailing off a little now, his own mind getting the better of him. Perhaps it wouldn't in that case have been such a bad option for everyone to learn how to defend their mind.

As Lilith moved to get more comfortable against him, he planted a small kiss on her temple, their close proximity making it incredibly easy to show her affection, especially since that had been so lacking in their recent schedules. "I know," he replied, a little heavily. "We're almost halfway," he added, his forehead still lightly leaning against her cheek. Halfway until graduation. Until they weren't here anymore. They'd be on their own out there, expected to just what, live as a witch or wizard and assume they knew what they were doing? Eoghan moved his left hand over Lilith's, taking it in his own and glancing down to her fingers. They had years still, he knew that, but the idea of returning to his old life after his eyes had been opened at Hogwarts was still daunting. "One day, I'll have my own practice," he said it with such confidence as though he was trying to prove it to himself as well as Lilith. "Doctor Blyth," a smile reappeared on his lips,
"I'll make it work. And if you wanted to, you could come to visit," not as a patient with any luck, but he could hope Lilith would still be in his life after they graduated.

Lilith could practically hear the cogs spinning in Eoghans head and she smiled, tapping his nose with her index finger. "I meant the aliens Antares, but I doubt they'd go through such bother just to remain undiscovered." Though the thought of it now planted in both their heads was unsettling to say the least. "I mean I think if someone invaded my mind without permission to do so that's breaking every boundary and every law of privacy there is." She said, feeling a shudder run through her spine at the mere thought of it. She'd share her thoughts with those she trusted but still anyone invading her brain felt like a violation.

Lili smiled and felt the blush appear on her face as Eoghan gave her a kiss on the temple. Though they'd been together for well over a year now he never failed to make her feel all giddy and flustered, especially when he openly showed affection to her. The mention of being halfway done almost was scary enough on its own but thinking of everything it entailed added to it. Though she was looking forward to life after school the uncertainty was still unnerving. The mention of his own practice made Lilith nod with a smile, she had full faith in him and then he said doctor instead of a healer and it made her heart sink a little with uncertainty. What if she wanted to pursue life within magic and he went back with Imogen, she wouldn't and couldn't deny that from him not to mention what Imogen had said to her made her skin still crawl. Pushing those thoughts aside she held his hand back and looked at his face again with a smile. "You'll make a wonderful doctor, we'll make it work and don't be silly you won't get rid of me that easily. I don't intend to let you go just because we are no longer in school, I don't care what it takes when it comes to it we'll make it work one way or another." And he'd have her full support in whatever he chose to do after school. When they'd made the promise to always find a way through she had no intention of ever breaking it. The words from Imogen still haunted her but she trusted it was her and Eoghan's choice to make what happened to them after graduation, not Imogens.

Eoghan protested, but the grin on his face indicated he wasn't mad, "So did I!" Hey maybe he was overthinking it by assuming it was better to be protected, just in case, but they wouldn't know until it was too late. "Well of course, I was just thinking from a legal standpoint you know, it's got to be on par." He didn't know much about magical law beyond what they learned in class and in truth he had too much going on to worry about researching it for himself at the moment.

He'd heard it before, but Lilith telling him that they'd make things work after graduation only made his heart swell. He squeezed her with both his arms and legs, pulling her tighter against his body as though if he could just keep her with him then he'd never have to worry about losing her. He knew at the back of his mind they'd have another struggle in the future, but he didn't want to think about the conversation he'd have to have with his sister one day. As Eoghan's fingers entwined with Lilith's, his mind found itself wandering to what it would be like if one day, maybe, she wore a ring for him. It felt strange even in his own head to consider, that wasn't something he shouldn't even be thinking about and if he breathed even a word of that thought he knew the judgement he'd get from others. But what if for a moment, he allowed himself to consider the possibility that when they were older, Lili was his wife? He had to shake the thought from his head, feeling awkward at the prospect, an internal debate raging when it should have been the last thing on his mind.

The third year forced himself to drop it. Heck if the aliens could mind read, they'd probably ask what was wrong with him. His inner voice was teering on the possibility that he would, though. He may have been young in years but he'd told her before and it continued to ring true, that it wasn't just that he wanted Lili in his life, he needed her, and he wasn't about to beat around the bush when it came to proving it.

"Do you think Doctors ever need to reel off a historic fact to treat a patient?" He mused, turning another page to one that was covered in his notes from the last year. Of course if he was going to pretend to be a muggle doctor, he'd need to know how to treat patients in a muggle way. Perhaps muggle training would give him, give them, additional time.
"Gather around, let me tell you of the Salem trials to ease your pain."

Lilith smiled and let out a small laugh, shaking her head slightly before leaning to press a kiss on Eoghan's cheek. "Oh yes of course, I'm sure the aliens would care very much for the laws." She joked, keeping the smile on her face. "If they do come for me though I hope I'm far enough into my Animagus training to be able to fool them with whatever my animal form will be." She added to he joke, Merlin maybe she'd be a bird and fly away or a fish? Though hopefully not because she was not too sure how she'd ever figure out to function as a fish. Thankfully all that was still in the distant future, she had a lot of work to do before she could get to that point of the training still.

When Eoghan squeezed her closer a small laugh escaped the Ravenclaws lips, though it made her feel very safe. It felt like him holding her like that was all she needed and that nothing and no one could hurt her as long as she had him. That had always been sort of the scary part, having someone who made you feel that safe because then there was the fear of losing that someone. It was still something that was enough to make Lilith spiral if she thought too hard on it so she chose to push it away, focusing on the present rather than the what ifs. Looking a their entwined hands a small smile stretched n her lips. The silence was comfortable but Lili couldn't help her curiosity. "What are you thinking?" She asked, wanting to know what was going on in his head at he moment. Plus she liked hearing him talk so there was that too.

Eoghan's comment made Lilith consider it and give an actual answer. "Well I don't think it's like directly used in the practice but I'm pretty sure they have to learn the laws and history of medicine and I suppose-" In the middle of her answer her boyfriend made a joke that caught the third year so off guard instead of a laugh it was a snort that escaped her. Slapping her free hand over her mouth she burst into a full blown laugh, desperately trying to speak between. "Oh I'm so," another snort with some laughter, deep breath. "Sorry that," more laughing and more deep breaths. "Was so embarrassing." She finally got out, though with each word her voice grew more strangled from the laughter. Thank god she'd already won his heart over, because otherwise that snort might have ruined her chances. "Yes they'd probably have a field day with telling them all about the medieval healing methods, witch cake to reveal your tormentor aka the witch." Lilith said as she finally calmed down after the fit of laughter, though her face remained red from the slight embarrassment.
