Freddie stood near the apple-bobbing barrel, doing his best to look menacing. He was menacing. The student who'd helped him with his face-paint had done such a good job that when Freddie caught sight of his reflection in the water, he almost made himself jump. He could have kept looking at himself forever, but he was supposed to be looking out for Declan. He'd be here any minute, probably. Man - he was gonna lose his mind when he saw this costume. But not as much as he was gonna lose his mind when he found out what Freddie had hidden in his pocket.
