Finally, Mikhail Matthias was sitting in his quiet, small home when his owl delivered a letter right in his lap. He opened it, and found out that he managed to become a potential candidate for the Minister of Magic. Mikhail smiled kindly to himself, as he rose to his feet. He got himself dressed in a suit with a tie. He looked presentable for the public, and he could not wait to get to know the New Zealand public more. It would be much better than his rather diverse family. He was closely related to the other deputy Minister, Thomas Hensel. There was a change in the last name and a difficult past, but luckily, he did not think anyone could trace anything relatable except the mysterious, golden eyes. His golden eyes reflected wisdom, intelligence, and a strong sense of kindness. What they hid was his troubled history, and he was not married with children or a family. He sacrificed that life to become a healer and work for others opposed to finding someone himself. The more he helped, the better he felt about what sort of life he became acquainted into. He went on dates on occasion, but his life was too busy to maintain a relationship, and now he felt like he was far too late to find someone. Helping others was what he was born to do, and he was going to try to help New Zealand.

Mikhail combed his black hair and he felt that it was time to go out now. Mikhail placed his wand inside of his pocket on his coat before he left his house. He sealed it behind him, knowing that now that he was a candidate, he might be in a little more danger. His stance on the Scitorari were in fact, firm. He was determined to get rid of them all, and he would send them all to Azkaban, Minister or not. It did not matter to him. People like that were insane and monsters. They did not deserve to walk the streets. Mikhail felt the same way about Death Eaters, and one of the reasons why he excluded himself from Arman for many, many years. Even now, Mikhail did not fully trust him, but he seemed to be working away from his past. That had to count for something. Mikhail sighed as he thought over his brothers, how they were all estranged but loosely connected. He was the loosest of all. And, he was not even the youngest or oldest. He was the second youngest. Making sure that everything was in order, Mikhail apparated to a place where his campaign could hopefully begin. Brightstone village.

Mikhail used magic to help set up an area, decorated with beautiful colors that showed just who he was, and that he was here to meet the people. A smile spread across his face as he faced the people, hoping that someone would come over and start talking to him. He wanted to learn more about the New Zealand people, since he was native to Russia. He lived here for years, but he still could always learn something new. And now, it was the perfect time to meet everyone he could, and to get his cause across.

Ever since the news had broke that Minister Snow was stepping down from her position, Jeremy had been following the news. Each day had come with some rumor about who might run up until the candidates had been announced. Jeremy, always a Ravenclaw, was determined to make an informed decision so when he'd heard about the public appearances that were scheduled, he was pleased to see that at least one of them fell on his off day. Dressing comfortably, Jeremy apparated to the square where Mr. Matthias was meeting with New Zealanders. Of all the candidates, he seemed the most determined to rid the magical world of the Scitorari. It was an ambitious goal, one that he was interested to hear explained. People were milling about, and Jeremy joined the growing crowd who were all waiting to hear from the man.

Stefan had been sort struggling to get to grips with this whole political situation which had been forming. Having lived so closed off from both the muggle world and the magical world of politics for so long, he had read the article in the daily prophet, but unfortunately for Stefan it hadn't been clear enough to him. The one candidate he had really disliked had been Brandt or something, she hadn't appeared very nice on paper, and Stefan wasn't looking to support that kind of person. The other three to him, seemed good, but a little similar, he wanted to know which would be best for him. Which way he would have to be voting. Stefan had therefore been incredibly thankful when one of the three had decided to go meet some people in Brightstone. Stefan had decided that since he had the time, that he would go. It would be for him a good opportunity to be able to listen to what one of the candidates had to say, and also to try to figure out which way he should vote. As much as Stefan knew so little he was really looking forward to hearing what the professor had to say, and was actually getting quite into reading all about the politics, even if he didn't totally understand it a lot of the time. After saying a quick goodbye to Kate, Stefan had put on his shoes and coat and apparated out the door and to where the meet and greet was suppose to take place.

It really didn't take long for Stefan to spot the man. He could tell by the slowly growing crowd as well as the fact he recognised the man ever so slightly. Stefan didn't want to stand too close to the front however. He wasn't sure how these things went. Someone was asking him a question. Stefan wasn't sure what to ask himself. He didn't really know what to ask the man. He knew that the man wanted rid of the extremists, but he wasn't sure how this man planned on doing that. He knew that it didn't really altogether affect him or Kate, they lived pretty apart lives from most. Staying well away from any places that would have them pinned as muggleborn. As Stefan made his way through, he noticed, someone he hadn't seen in a few years. "Jeremy? Hey" Stefan said in surprise, he wondered if the man might remember him. It hadn't been too long ago since they'd run into each other. It was just after Stefan had graduated, or shortly after. He gave the man a smile, before looking towards the man at the front. Mr. Matthias. "Mr. Matthias, what do you plan on doing about the Scitorari?" He asked, not sure if he'd been heard, but it was the hot talking point, Stefan wanted to know what this man promised which the others were perhaps not promising.

Mikhail reached out his hand and shook someone's hand, smiling as he did so. Mikhail was a proper gentleman after all, as he made himself to be. He looked to the others in the crowd, when someone asked him about what he planned on doing about the Scitorari. Mikhail smiled at the younger man, and he reached out his hand to meet him personally. He decided to share a bit of his plan, which was large. "Well, I plan on having the Aurors work nonstop on identifying the Scitorari by their rings, much like the great flaw with the past Death Eaters. The group seem open about their goals, and it should not be hard to identify who is and isn't. I will make sure plenty of Aurors are recruited, and I want to work closely, but not be overbearing, with the Aurors to make sure the society is safe." He hoped that was a good answer, and he finally asked the young man who asked him the question, "You know my name, may I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"

Following the elections was something Ava Davershire didn't think she'd ever see herself doing. It was never something she followed when she was younger, or even right up to the previous Minister. She usually couldn't care less about politics but this time round she found herself being very interested. Ava figured it was because she was the Headmistresses and was curious as to what each candidate had to bring to the table where her school was concerned. Ava had read the Daily Prophet, and found herself discussing her thoughts with Nicolas.
However, today was the day to go out and meet a specific candidate. Ava made her way out, dressed warmly, as she went to meet Mikhail Matthias. She was pleasantly surprised to see two former students, one of them now a current staff member of the school conversing with the Candidate. The Headmistresses waited her turn, before approaching the man. She held out her hand in introduction. "Hello Mr. Matthias. I am Ava Davershire, Headmistress of Hogwarts New Zealand. I noticed that you were the only candidate to not have any comments or plans for the school. If you were made Minister, what would that mean for the school?" Ava asked curiously.

Mikhail turned his attention to someone who introduced herself as the Headmistres of the school. Her name was Ava Davershire. He shook her hand gently, and gave her a polite smile. It was true, he was one of the only ones that did not have anything to say about the school. He thought that the Ministry interfering with the school was a dangerous mix, as he read with the late Dumbledore and the Ministry over in England or Scotland, one. Mikhail decided to tell her his views, "The school does not seem to have any threats, but I trust that you have your school guarded as is, and does not need to have Ministry involvement. If you needed anything at all for the school, and if I became the Minister, feel free to ask and everything will be provided. I trust security measures are in place, and that no Scitorari reside in the school to your knowledge." There was one within the school, but Mikhail had no idea, and Ava sure did not either. Mikhail thought that the school was fine as is, so why try to fix something that was great right now? Mikhail hoped that she liked his answer.

Now for her last visit to the candidates, Seraphine Hensel found herself at the oldest of candidates, Mikhail Matthias. His name sounded familiar, but she did not seem to catch it. Seraphine approached the candidate, and she introduced herself, "Seraphine Hensel, it is a pleasure. Now, I heard basically nothing on your stance of the education system. You believe that the Ministry shouldn't get involved unless necessary. Tell me, why do you think that? Do you think the school and the curriculum are fine the way they are? Also, Mikhail, you seem to be hate the Scitorari so much. Why do you view them as a threat? I know they are, but do you think they'll get as big as the Death Eaters back forty years ago?"
