Closed Making Things Up

[Gregory Friend]

Gregory had been really surprised that Snow had been disappointed over him not asking her to the yuleball. He just hadn't thought about it, but to make up for it and because he felt pretty bad about it, he had invited her to the Valentine's day dance. Gregory felt nervous though he wasn't entirely sure why. He liked Snow, they were friends. This was...as friends...he was sure, so why was he nervous. He kept glancing around the room, trying to keep an eye out for anything he should move out of the way for. He was hoping Snow would be there soon.

 

[Snowdrop Chase]

Snowdrop had sort of forgotten about the Valentine’s dance until Greg asked her. She had left things fairly vague with their last conversation on where she stood in there relationship with a maybe response on if she wanted to go to the yule as friends last semester. She arrived and spotted him, smoothing her red summer dress. She had chosen something simple as this dance didn’t feel as important as the last. She tapped his shoulder from behind. “Hey, hope you weren’t waiting too long.”

Gregory hadn't been waiting too long when Snow reached him. He weakly smiled at her, and shook his head. He had been thinking about her a lot an d everything about it. Gregory liked her, she was a good friend, but he worried that perhaps she liked him as more than just a friend. It maybe helped that she was pretty. But he didn't know if he should like her like that. "No, not long," he said with an awkward shrug. "You look nice," he said, though his tone was uncertain. Like he wasn't sure he should say it, or if she'd want to hear it.

The tension was palpable and Snow wanted to ease it somehow. He complimented her and she gave a gentle smile to him. “Greg?” She said softly. “It’s me, you don’t have to be weird about things. We’re just here to hang out right? We can talk video games or classes or whatever. Nothing has changed.” She insisted.
