This year had already been hectic, and this was only the start. Eoghan knew that he had another semester to get through, and even then, what would change? Life at Hogwarts had become much busier since his third year and it was hard to keep up with everything going on. He could feel himself changing in ways he hadn't fully expected, too. He was becoming more withdrawn, more so than was usual for him, and angrier at things outside of his control. If he was going to stop himself slipping down a slope that would remind him even more of the person he'd left behind when joining the school in the first place, then he was needing to find a better way of dealing with things.
Armed with a large blanket, Eoghan had made his way up to the point in the grounds that until now he'd only heard rumors about. Finding his way to the cliffs had been difficult, but by the time he reached them he was sure they would be the perfect place for what he needed. He'd read enough books about what it was he wanted to do, now he just needed to put it into practise.
Laying the blanket out on the patches of grass and stone, Eoghan sat crossed legged on the blanket overlooking the horizon. The sun would soon be setting behind the clouds, but he still had a good hour or so to himself before he'd be plunged into darkness. He sat up straight, resting his hands in his lap, and with one more glance across the horizon toward the mountains, he closed his eyes. In and out. In, hold it, and out. He was here, in the moment. He was sat with the ground underneath his legs, the wind brushing his face, his hair, his eyelashes. In and out. First impressions would suggest he couldn't hear much, until he really listened. Then he could hear the birds talking amongst themselves. He could hear the rustle of the leaves as the breeze caught up in them, and even the way the pebbles across the floor were rolling against the rock. In and out. Right now, in this moment, there was only Eoghan and the small piece of world around him.
