Seamus was loitering outside the forest, the patrols around it had been difficult to even get close, but it was the break, and everyone was busy, so Seamus had come to the edge of the forest, trying to decide if it was worth going in. he knew it was the wrong and dangerous thing to do, but there was just so much that could be interesting about the forest and the snake was dead, so what else could be that deadly. Seamus didn't know what he would do in the forest, wandering around seemed like as good an idea but having a set goal of the forest would be good too. He just needed to decide, and decide quickly before a professor caught him loitering outside the forest and forced him to leave.

With the first semester almost over, Sloane had for the most part, played by all the rules. She'd been where she needed to be, she'd worn what she needed to wear, and was on her best behaviour most of the time. With the holidays on the horizon, she wondered if this was what her whole life at Hogwarts was going to be like. Trying to fit in and belong somewhere and be accepted as one of the magical few in this new world. In truth it was all a bit daunting, and the first year had set out to take a walk around the grounds, considering what she was supposed to make of it all.

She spotted a person up ahead, and at first, she thought it was a prefect. Was she not supposed to be out at this time? Maybe she should head back to the castle before they spotted her. After a few moments she realised she didn't recognise the boy, and that he didn't really look old enough to be one of the prefects. That and the fact he seemed almost as suspicious of being found as she did. It probably wasn't best to intrude, and the student was probably doing something that he didn't want to be found doing if he was lurking about in the trees, but curiosity got the better of the Ravenclaw and she pressed on. "Are you hiding?" she asked him directly. She had no plan to tattle, but if he was, she would like to know what he was hiding from so that she too wouldn't be caught.

Seamus was just trying to settle on what to do, he wanted to go in and felt pretty determined, but knew the consequences to going in. He wouldn't get away as lightly as he had the previous time, that was for sure. Seamus was startled from his thoughts as a voice spoke, he gave a little gasp, before glancing at them, her. The person who'd spoken was younger than him, probably a first year rather than a second year. "No...I'm just...waiting," he added with uncertainty in his tone. "Are you hiding?" he retorted since if she thought he was hiding then what was she doing.

Sloane didn't think she was a surprising person, but it seemed her presence had still been enough to spook this student, at least for a second. She gave a small slow lift of her head, "Oh," in understanding, but she wasn't entirely convinced. The Ravenclaw's body relaxed a little however, because if the older student wasn't hiding from something then that meant that Sloane didn't have to be either, and she trusted that an older student would have a better idea than her about what could have been seeking them, in a place like this. "No, I'm not hiding either," she began, still just watching the boy in front of her, "unless, you think I should be?" her eyes very briefly glancing to the side in case there was something or someone they should be watching out for. "What.. are you waiting for?" she settled on instead, wondering what event was about to happen.

Seamus wondered why she thought he was hiding, but she wasn't hiding either. He glanced back at the forest, he didn't really have an answer for it, he was waiting to maybe go in, but he didn't want to say that out loud, what if she tried to go tell an adult, and he ended up in trouble. He looked back at her and let himself frown and glanced at her. "None of your business," he replied, somewhat sharply, deciding that he was shutting this conversation down and ignoring her. "You shouldn't be at the forest, it's forbidden," He reminded her.

Sloane was confused. If students weren’t allowed in the forest, and he she was being told by a student that what she was doing was forbidden, then how was this student in here too? Maybe he was a prefect and she just didn’t realise. “Is it dangerous?” She asked, wondering why everyone was so adamant that they not come in the forest, but if a seventh year was able to hatch a basilisk on school property, maybe the forest was the least of their issues. She took a few steps closer into the trees, almost in line now with the older boy, and tried looking around to try and see what was going. “It doesn’t look dangerous,” she stated, hoping he’d tell her more than just to go away.

Seamus nodded at the question, "Yes, very very dangerous," Seamus told the young girl. It was probably true, but in his case he was still going to go in and he just needed the girl to clear off. Needed her to go away so that he could go inside. "No forest looks dangerous, but they are. The trees block out the light and you could get lost, and there are a pack of centaurs in there," Seamus told her, using the knowledge he had of both forests and what he had seen in the forest too. He had noted that the girl had approached the woods a little and really if she went in, he wouldn't stop her. Not at all. That certainly wasn't his place and he was certainly not going to bother.
