Enoch tended not to bother with the halloween costumes, but he was so tired of everything. But he had been trying, trying a little more, making the effort, so he had got a costume together, it was mostly just his uniform, but he had rapier sword, a fake one of course. He walked into the great hall, and just watched things for a moment, while standing off to the side, at the entrance.

Elise really liked Halloween and especially loved putting effort into her costumes. This year she had worked hard to get the flowers on her shirt to move and behave just right. It wasn't the most flashy of costumes but it had taken a lot of time. She smiled to herself as she entered the great hall, she liked the spooky decorations the best. She hesitated though when she spotted an older boy from the arts club. He was holding a sword which piqued her interest but the rest of his outfit was comparatively unremarkable. "I think you're missing the rest of your costume." she said, surely he must have forgotten the rest of it. Or maybe there had been some accident and the rest of his suit of armor was missing. Stolen even.

Enoch had known he'd get bothered by someone, that was half of the appeal of this. being able to spend the time with someone, hanging out with a friend, Enoch was just terrible at being friends with people. "Am I?" he replied, "What am I missing?" he asked, wondering what she thought he was supposed to be, though he wasn't sure what she was supposed to be, flowers...or something..

Elise cocked her head to the side when he asked her a question and she considered thoughtfully. Was he really missing something? She guessed she didn't know what he was supposed to be, maybe there was a vision she just couldn't see. "Well what are you supposed to be?" she asked. "If I had to guess, with a sword like that you might be some kind of knight, or maybe a pirate. But your outfit doesn't quite work for those options." she explained.

Enoch didn't think he'd ever get a costume that was more complicated than what he had. What was the point, it was so much effort for one night, and you got barely anything from it. So no, he wasn't going to do much more than this. "Why doesn't my outfit work?" he asked, figuring that instead of arguing with her, asking the questions was a much better use of his time.

Elise shifted her weight and crossed her arms as she considered his question again. If he didn't see anything wrong with his costume, who was she to say he was wrong? But she still struggled to make sense of it and tried to be open minded and engage with him honestly. "Well there's nothing about what you're wearing that would make me think you're any of those things." she explained. "But-" she added quickly. "if you were trying to be a modern version of those costumes that might be something. What would a modern knight look like?" she wondered aloud. "But then why the sword...." she trailed off, still trying to make sense of what his nameless costume could really be.
