As sorry as she had felt for Asaiah's relationship to have ended, she was secretly glad for it at the moment because now he could be her date to the Yule Ball. Her break up with Octavian had been abrupt and sudden, so the Gryffindor was still trying to get over it. She was not going to show up to the yule ball without someone so she was glad that Asaiah didn't have a date either so they could go together. Even though she was still sad about the break up, she was excited to go with Asaiah because it would be like their first year when they had gone together and she had had lots of fun then. After getting dressed in an olive dress and making sure her ponytail draped over her right shoulder to cover the scars on her shoulder, Marisol went down to the Great Hall to wait for her best friend.

Asaiah had been preparing for most of the night. He was excited to go to the Yule Ball with his best friend, especially after attending the ball solo for the past two years. Asaiah looked into the mirror one last time and smiled to himself, pleased with his own reflection. Before leaving the common room, the Slytherin took out his wand and charmed a corsage together to give to Marisol just like in their first year. He figured she'd appreciate it. After that Asaiah quickly left the Slytherin common room so he wouldn't show up late, smiling as he made his way up to the Great Hall. When Asaiah arrived it didn't take him long to spot Marisol waiting for him where she said she would meet him, and grinned from ear to ear at his best friend. "Hey you!" he said excitedly as he approached her, and hugged the girl.

Marisol didn't have to wait long for Asaiah to show up since his common room was pretty close to the great hall. She was afraid she'd end up alone for a while and run into people she didn't want to, but thankfully he was here. Just being around her best friend always made her feel better so she knew tonight would be a good night. "Hey!" she said excitedly as he approached, squeezing him with a hug. "Thanks for agreeing to be my date," she said as she pulled back, mirroring his smile. "You look good," she nodded approvingly.

Asaiah smiled brightly when she hugged him back and told him that he looked good in this suit. ''Who wouldn't want to be your date to the Yule Ball.'' he commented after looking at his best friend from head to toe. ''You look amazing.'' Asaiah added with a wink, and then offered the girl the corsage he made. ''I made this for you, figured it'd be fitting since I gave one to you in our first year, too.'' He had really enjoyed attending the ball with her back in their first year, specially the hours with her at the lake afterwards, and was hoping that maybe this year they could spend some time at the lake again.

Marisol smiled appreciatively at Asaiah's compliments and she honestly had to wonder why Zara would ever break up with someone like him, but she had already gotten her revenge and had a talk with the girl so she wasn't going to pry anymore. Instead Marisol got to enjoy his company tonight. The Gryffindor beamed as he showed her the corsage and laughed when she recalled the memory of their first yule ball together. "Thank you Asaiah!" she said, taking it and putting it on. She had been afraid this night would be a disaster for her but it had just started and Asaiah was already making it much better than she expected. She looked down at the corsage once more and smiled, and then looked up at the Slytherin. "Let's go!" she said excitedly, linking her arm through his.

Asaiah smiled and lead them to the dance floor when their arms were linked together. The two fourth years stepped inside the nicely decorated Great Hall. Like there was every year, there was a band was playing a jazzy song at the end of the room and several students were singing along. A lot more students were huddled up with their friends, standing near the table with the drinks, laughing and enjoying themselves and a few others had already started unfolding their dance moves. ''Are we going to talk about our hypocrite of a best friend and his.. girlfriend?'' Asaiah asked when spotting his best pal with who he assumed was his date.

Marisol followed Asaiah to wherever he led her, happy to do whatever he wanted to do. It felt like their first year all over again except better because now they were closer than ever. Once they reached the center of the floor, she turned to look at him and they began to dance lightly. Marisol looked over to where Asaiah was referring to and grinned cheekily when she saw Wyatt and another girl. Marisol laughed openly. "He actually asked me for advice on how to ask her to the yule ball," she said, snickering. The latina tiptoed over the crowd to get a better look at the girl Wyatt was with, because he hadn't told her who it was. "I wonder if he'll get the guts to kiss her finally," she teased. After all the nagging that Wyatt gave them, it was fun to see the roles reversed and she enjoyed teasing the other boy between her and Asaiah even if they didn't mean it badly.

Asaiah's dancing had definitely improved since he last danced with his best friend, 'cause this time around he wasn't as awkward at he used to be when dancing - even it it was just lightly. He shook his head and grinned when Marisol told him that their best friend had come to her for help. ''Looks like whatever you told him worked.'' Asaiah was happy that his friend finally seemed to have snapped out of the delusion that girls were disguisting because it would mean that the two (or three if Marisol would be around) could finally talk about all that stuff without his pal making a comment on how gross having a relationship is. ''Want to bet on it?'' the Slytherin asked, grinning at her when he turned to look at his best friend again.

Marisol grinned mischievously when Asaiah mentioned placing a bet on Wyatt's actions. "Always," she replied, ready for the challenge. "What's your guess? Do you think he'll do it or chicken out?" she snickered, amused at the fact that they were making fun of their other best friend. She wanted to hear what Asaiah thought Wyatt would do before she made her decision and they'd shake on it. As she looked over at them again she saw two other people she recognized as well. She saw Asaiah's cousin with..her younger sister? "What's mini Murphy doing talking to my sister?" she said suddenly, laughing at the idea belatedly. She hadn't ever considered the idea of them knowing each other but it was so bizarre to her that they did.

Asaiah sucked air through his teeth and held his head sideways as he was trying to think what his best friend was most likely going to do. ''He's going to chicken out for sure.'' the boy said, grinning at his other friend. ''You know, because of 'all the diseases you can get from kissing.''' It was stupid that Wyatt believed that such a thing could possibly happen. Both him and Marisol had kissed people before, and neither of them had ever gotten ill because of it. ''Alright, if he goes through with it, I'll do your homework for a whole month next semester. If he chickens out, you will do mine for a whole month next semester. Deal?'' Asaiah held out his hand for Marisol to accept this bet. Then he looked over to where she was looking at, and saw his cousin standing next her younger sister. ''Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Elliot and your sister are attending the ball together. They almost look as cute as we did in our first year.'' he said jokingly.

Marisol laughed when Asaiah brought up Wyatt's insistent germ phobia when it came to kissing. She felt bad because she knew Wyatt had already kissed someone, her, so the chances of him doing it would be higher now that he had survived a first kiss. But Marisol felt awkward telling Asaiah that she had kissed Wyatt even if it was just to prove to the boy that he wouldn't die from germs, so she decided to keep that information to herself. "Deal!" she said, shaking his hand firmly on it. She felt certain that her chances of winning this bet were higher based on the info she knew, but it was still a 50/50 chance she could lose and she didn't want that so she hoped Wyatt's practice lessons had paid off. Once they had shaken on the bet, she looked over at her sister and Asaiah's cousin again and chuckled, she couldn't tell what they were talking about but they seemed to be having fun. "I didn't know they knew each other, that's cool!" she decided, beaming at Asaiah. "They'll never be as cute as us," she agreed, taking his hand and twirling around as they danced, laughing lightly.
