Lily Cliffeton had not slept since the night of the storm. When she had danced in the Great Hall. She was unsure as to why not. Slept just wasn't on her mind. It was late in the afternoon. And soon it would be dinner, but as Lily approached the forest, the very last thing on her mind was dinner. She didn't know why she was heading to the forest. She just wanted to go somewhere with a little adventure. Some where, with a little more danger, than the privateness of the school. Lily smiled to herself. It was very cloudy, and she wouldn't be too surprised if it rained again. Lily wasn't prepared for rain. But she didn't care. It was only water.

Lily stepped into the forest, with one final glance back the castle. Instantly being in the forest made Lily feel almost powerful. She took out her wand. She didn't know why. Slowly Lily could see the uses of magic. Lily hated herself for thinking this but it was true. She walked through the forest. She hoped she'd bump into someone. She wanted to annoy someone. Lily continued to just walk, listening out for even the smallest hint of someone near her.

Benson walked quickly through the forest in his Gryffindor robes, his lit wand was out in front of him. It was almost dinner and he was starving yet his snowy owl, Godric, didn't seem to want to return to the castle. Benson was quite annoyed that his owl had not tamed itself, it was still as crazy as ever. Like a young puppy. Benson was walking in the direction of the entrance of the forest, or the exit in his case. Slowly as the canopy of leaves overhead began to thin out he felt rain drops pour onto his messy red hair.

"Godric!" Benson called to his stubborn bird who had just rested onto a branch. Ben rolled his eyes, "You've got to be joking. I'm starving buddy!" He called up to it, knowing it wasn't going to take any effect, Godric was not going to budge. Benson looked around him grumpily, how he wished he could be inside the warm Great Hall eating a nice big steak instead of being in the forest with his bird who seemed to be determined to starve him. Benson was tempted to even climb the tree to get him down but figured that that would be his last resort. "Alright Godric. Get your feathery butt down here!" Benson commanded to his bird. With no surprise the bird stayed put, his eyes looking everywhere but Benson.

Lily heard a calling. It was a male voice. Also sounded like the boy was around her age. With a small smile to herself, she walked to where the voice was coming from. She noticed a boy with messy red hair, calling upwards. Lily looked up and noticed a snowy white owl sitting on one of the branches. She could help but laugh a little to herself, a little out loud. Her eye sight was drawn back down to the boy. He looked familiar. Lily wondered where from. She figured it would be from before school. Lily's eyes moved from the slightly hidden boy's face to his clothes. Gryffindor.

"Can the poor little Gryffindor boy not get his owl down from the trees?" Lily's voice sounded as she moved towards the boy and where he'd be able to see her. "Fly away birdie." Lily called looking up to the bird, before looking to the boy.

"Have we met before, Gryffindor?" Lily said, showing strong hate for Gryffindors in the way she said the word.

Benson turned his head sharply when he heard a voice, it was coming from a girl. Although it was a late Spring evening it was getting dark, Ben raised his wand in the direction of the voice. He already dislked the girl and he had yet to even see her however when she stepped closer there was something about her that was quite familiar. Benson looked back up at Godric and then to the girl. He didn't know which question to answer first, not that he praticulary wanted to answer any of them all he wanted to do was to be in the Great Hall, eating.

All of a sudden Benson remembered the girls face, it was all coming back to him. It was the stupid ignorant girl who had a thing about dogs. Benson rolled his eyes, "Eh yeah we met before." He told her as if it was plain obvious. "Unfortunately.." He mumbled the word under his breath. He couldn't believe his luck, first of all his bird was being completely stubborn and then the fur hag came along. Benson turned his back to the girl, he didn't care for her at all and didn't believe in wasting his time. Benson looked back up at his bird who had moved up to a higher branch, Ben's lips tightened as he thought of some way to get him down.

Lily remembered the boy, and his stupid dog. She couldn't help but laugh as she considered the situations in which they had met. First with the dog, and now an owl. Lily hated animals, and this boy seemed to like them, but was obviously careless when looking after them. Lily walked to stand beside the boy. She took out the wand that was in her pocket. She spun it in her fingers. A slightly sly smile on her face. She wanted this boy to hate her more. Not that it really was necessary. He hated her more than she hated everything about the school. Lily also hated him. He was such a stupid boy. Thinking animals were good companions.

"How about, you shoot it down. Quick, easy, painless." Lily said, looking slowly from the bird to the boy. She walked round to the other side of the boy. "Or you could just leave it there. It obviously doesn't want you as a master. Let the bird go. It's wiser than you'll ever be. And that dog." Lily smirked at him.

Ben let the first snide remark from the girl slide but the second one just went way too far. "He does want me as a master, he's just not tamed yet." Benson said in a matter-of-fact sort of way not looking at the girl once, his Irish accent didn't falter at all. Benson let silence fill the air for a bit before turning towards the girl, "So, skin any animals recently?" He asked her with a small smirk on his lips. He looked back up to his owl who was now flying off the branch but was still high up in the air, no where near coming down yet. However he didn't pester Godric to return to him, he just looked back at the girl with a calm expression on his face waiting for a reply.

Lily gave a hearty laugh to his question. She remembered how the boy thought she was the type to wear real fur. She really wasn't, but what was another lie. She didn't care what this boy thought of her. It was good that he didn't like her and she didn't like him. With a smirk, Lily continued to spin her wand in her fingers. Lily looked up at the owl. She couldn't understand why people would want animals as friends. Were people that desparate that since they couldn't find friends among humans they had to resort to animals.

"Oh yes, I have." Lily said. "I bought a jacket with real fur on it. It's amazing. Keeps me warm and snug when it's cold or wet. Fur coats are the best type of coats. Really. You should buy one, but I doubt you can afford to even go in a store that sells one."
