Wyatt hadn't made much of an effort for Halloween as he felt he was too old for this even if wizards did seem to love the holiday. He wondered if this was the wizard Christmas as he found his way at the snack table making a small plate of food for himself. He'd have to find Asaiah to gloat but for now he couldn't spot his bro or Marisol so he munched on a biscuit and figured they could find him if they wanted to - which he very much doubted seeing as they were a couple and did couple-y things that really did not involve him.

Amber was in a confusing time of her life, but it wasn't bad. Not in the slightest. It was just something she had to deal with and accept, even though that wasn't easy for her. Her talk with Ainsley had helped clear a lot of things up, more than she had expected. But it was still very new, and Amber had avoided going to the Halloween Feast together in case it felt strange, but she did end up looking around for her anyway at the party. Part of her wanted to show Ainsley her costume, and she hoped she would run into her later.

Rather than Ainsley, though, she saw someone else. Someone she hadn't seen or spoken to in a while. She stopped near Wyatt and gave him an awkward smile. After her recent revelations, it was sort of strange to see him. He was still nice-looking as he had been before, but not in the kind of way she would crush on. She felt a little guilty, but hadn't lied to him on purpose when they dated. "Hi Wyatt, having fun?" She asked him with an awkward smile.

Wyatt looked up from his plate when he heard Amber's voice and he smiled at her behind a full mouth. Quickly the boy chewed on his food and swallowed hard before he said, "Hey. Yeah sorry." He chuckled awkwardly at the situation and rubbed his cheek, fearful that there was food in his growing, patchy beard. "How about you?" he asked Amber with a smile, glad to have her company even if maybe things were a little strange between them after their breakup even if it had been mutual.

Amber covered her mouth to hide her laugh at the boy's face when he tried to quickly finish his food. She saw he was growing a little beard now, and couldn't help but be glad he hadn't two years ago when they were dating. Though it didn't look bad on him. She smiled at him as he returned the question to her. "I'm having fun too, though I'm sort of keeping an eye out for my friends." Her expression soured slightly, as she thought of Wyatt's friends. "What about your friends? Where are they?"

This was Sara's second Halloween feast, she thought, and because she had so many years left at the castle she had doubted coming tonight. But she had thought it'd be easier to find the person she was looking for here instead of around the castle. If he wasn't here, it would be a problem. After walking around the room for a bit, Sara's gaze stopped at the snack table and she grinned. She didn't think she would be very recognisable though to anyone who knew her she looked more or less the same. Sara tiptoed quietly towards her target and the girl, her wand lit. When she was close enough to the Gryffindor, she decided to be smart about this and she crouched down, rolling under the table in the process. Then, she reached out with her wand hand and from behind, attempted to touch Wyatt's ankles from her position, hoping he hadn't noticed.

Wyatt’s cheeks flushed in embarrassment when Amber laughed at him choking down his food. He recovered once he had swallowed with polite conversation because he thought she was nice. He had always thought she was. She never seemed to have a reason to want to be around him which had been surprising then and now too. “You got one right here, ma’am,” he said of her friends in a southern accent as he tipped his cowboy hat playfully. He didn’t want to seem to unhappy as he said, “They’re here together.” He rolled his eyes and asked, “Do you wanna bob for apples or something, maybe?” He stepped forward and turned to face Amber instead of looking out into the crowd when he saw someone crawling on the floor with a lit wand. He chuckled and said, “Ah you missed!” He’d hopefully get his target tonight instead.

Amber couldn't help but laugh when Wyatt said he was her friend in a southern accent,"that's true." She said happily. "It's been a while since we hung out, I know, but I'm happy to see you." She frowned a little when Wyatt said they were here together. Marisol had told her last year she was dating a girl, something that had stuck in her brain for now obvious reasons. "I thought Marisol had a... girlfriend." She said quietly, stumbling slightly over the word. But before she could answer his question about bobbing for apples or anything like that, she saw a girl crawling over the floor with a lit wand. She stared at her in confusion before remembering the game that was going on. She hadn't signed up, but clearly Wyatt had. She smiled sympathetically at the girl before returning her attention to Wyatt. "That sounds fun." But that's when she spotted Ainsley in the distance, talking to another girl. Her hair was dark for her costume, which Amber thought looked quite nice. She found herself staring for a moment, before finally tearing her eyes away. She hoped her cheeks weren't too pink.

Wyatt shrugged when Noelle was brought up. In truth Wyatt didn't know a great deal about the break up except that Noelle was at a different school much to the teen's disappointment. "She's in Beauxbatons now." It hadn't occurred to Wyatt that Amber had meant why Marisol was dating a boy rather than a girl because the idea of such things seemed pretty normal rather than everything else they had to deal with on a daily basis. He didn't know what internal struggles Amber was facing or else he might've said something different to reassure her but with most delicate topics Wyatt was left unaware as to the world around him. They then decided to go bobbing for apples and Wyatt walked forward, assuming Amber would walk beside him as he asked, "How are you managing with your OWL year?" He was never very good at small talk but he was trying.

Amber nodded wat Wyatt's explanation about Marisol's girlfriend, or ex girlfriend. She resisted the urge to ask more about it, and the urge to glance in Ainsley's direction again. It wouldn't be nice of her to bother Wyatt with her problems, and a part of her worried he would be angry if he knew the truth. She had in a way wasted some of his time last year, even though she hadn't purposely mislead him. She walked along with him to go bobbing for apples, though she wasn't sure if she would actually join in. Her costume could get wet. "It's going alright, so far." She said in response to his question. "Is sixth year easier or harder?" The sixth year didn't have as big an exam at the end, but she figured the material would still be more difficult. "Are you currently dating someone?" She asked, and it came a little out of nowhere even to her. She just wondered if he was doing okay, as he seemed down by the idea of his two friends being here together. But that was probably answer enough to her question.
