The idea had come to Orwell while making flower crowns, he'd been sat in the gardens surrounded by their beauty and decided to do something with the flowers, the teen had of course consulted with Archie about it, and then the wider members of the wild patch club, and eventually he'd decided that it was the right thing to do. Orwell had the lanterns ready to go, well most of the them, they were made of biodegradable materials, and covered in flowers, flowers whose stems twisted around the outer shape of the lantern, they would be of varying colours and people who came could attach a little message or wish to one or several, there were more waiting to be made, and eventually they would let loose into the air with a little light in the center, casting varying colours of light across the gardens and grounds. Of course, they were attached by string so that they wouldn't actually fly away and he thought it was a good way of demonstrating pollution in the atmosphere, that it couldn't just fly away and stayed caught, therefore combining the flowers with his own political views. The teen was putting the final touches on the event, he had the buckets of flowers and the bits of parchment that could be attached to the lanterns, the lanterns that needed more flowers and the leaflets and placards about the dangers of pollution. He'd canvased less for this event although the event itself didn't break any rules, and with the end of the term approaching, he was sure that people would look to make wishes or to escape their studies.

What the king of flowers really thought helped was that given the time of year was that the garden looked amazing, everything was in bloom, all the flowers were of the varying beautiful colours and he had used his magic to string white lights to that the place looked even better which would dim the more lanterns were in the air, he had blankets laid out in this empty lawn area of the gardens with enough space for people to lie down and just watch the lanterns light up the sky in their varying colours when the eventually let them lose, of course people could release them whenever they wanted but he was just thought it would be good to realise more than one at once, to fill the slowly darkening sky with the colours of summer, with the flowers, and wishes. Orwell stood back from his work and marvelled at it, the garden looked amazing, the only thing they really lacked was real food, he wasn't sure if people would want any and assumed if they did they would bring the food themselves. But he couldn't help be proud of the work that he and the other Wild Patch members had put into this event, they'd worked tirelessly at making the already made lanterns, in organising the bits of parchment to be able to attach, making more flower crowns for the event, one of which the leader was currently wearing, the place looked amazing, and Orwell was stood at the table with all the leaflets and the bits of parchment to attach, looking over the work, from the blankets to the lanterns just needing people to let them lose with the wishes. The teen just had to hope that people attended, one lantern floating in the air casting a lilac colour about the place looked very lonely.

OOCOut of Character:
HELLO! Welcome to another Wild Patch Club event! It is free for all to attend, as always. It's a simple flower lantern festival combining the lantern festivals with flowers, folks can come to attach wishes to the lanterns, attach flowers to the unfinished lanterns, and then eventually release them, or just watch them. If you have any questions, feel free to message me about them. If you want to join the club, just post your gif in the Accio page! My post is super long but this can be Old School Week style

Tholomyes had been particularly excited about this, and really just the thought of not having to get into trouble was good, he was sure that this event wouldn't break any rules and he was attending with his sketch book in his bag, arriving at the event where everything was so perfectly laid out, following the light to where he spotted the leader of the club stood as always in the place of honour at the head of the event, and Tholomyes smiled at him and waved, it was nice to see everything having come together and just grinning at the lantern already in the sky, he couldn't wait to release more of them, they'd be anchored to the ground but he knew that the points they'd be anchored to were scatter about the gardens. The boy put down his bag on one of the blankets before grabbing one of the flower crowns and putting it on his head, brushing the strands of fringe out of his eyes and then grabbing on of the unfinished lanterns and beginning to intricately place yellow flowers in the design which he had started but hadn't finished, Theo had no been happy with it and this was his third attempt to getting it right, and he knew he had little time left, he hoped to see Emma at this event, she was part of the wild patch after all.

Lydia loved the flowers, she loved the gardens, she though the wild patch was a little strange at times, but she thoroughly enjoy being able to do things with flowers and she'd yet to disagree with the leader about what he was preaching, and she had to admit that the thought of the lantern festival was enough to make her excited, she arrived at the event a little before she was sure than most would be able to and greeted the leader and the younger Ravenclaw. In the name of the event her summer dress, was adorned with a flower pattern, she smiled at them both as she twirled under the light of the lantern already in the air, loving the look of the flowers attached, and the light it cast over the rest of the gardens, she couldn't wait until all the lanterns were in the air, and Lydia went to one of the finished lanterns and took a bit of parchment from Orwell and wrote down a small wish and attached it to the lantern, she was excited for this, if only because it was sure to be quite the event, providing more people did attend, although she did assume that even if people didn't they'd still release all the lanterns, and enjoy it just a handful of them.

Miya almost couldn't contain her excitement upon hearing of the lantern festival. Daisy chains adorned her wrists and Miya had braided flowers into her hair until she almost looked like a walking garden herself. She felt a little self-conscious about it, but her excitement masked her nervousness and she had a curtain of hair to hide behind if she needed. A wave of homesickness overcame Miya as she walked to the event. The festival reminded her of the ones her dad used to take her to and she looked around in wonder. She raised her hand slightly to wave at Orwell, but changed her mind and smiled instead. She doubted he would even remember who she was against every other student in the school. She looked over at the other students who had arrived, glad the event wasn't busy yet. Miya couldn't think of a wish to write down yet, so she decided to help by winding flowers onto the lanterns.

Although Reuben knew it was healthy for him to participate in activities and events without his brother, he couldn't help but feel a little miserable as he approached the students in the Hogwarts garden. The place looked spectacular, as was to be expected when someone like Orwell Brocken was in charge, but it only livened his spirits a little. He smiled half-heartedly at a Ravenclaw boy he recognized from lessons and took a flower crown, studying it for a moment before placing it on his head. He'd tried to replicate one several weeks ago, to no avail. He knew he'd have to ask Orwell to show him eventually, but he hadn't worked up the courage yet.

With nobody to hang out with, Reuben approached the lanterns and took a slip of parchment to write a wish. There were so many things he wanted that he had to think for quite some time before eventually scribbling one down and tying it to the frame. Then he twisted a few more flowers around it, ruining the symmetry but caring very little, and sat down on a blanket beside it to let the other students know it had already been claimed.

Eleanor could not wait for her first Wild Patch Club event. She came in her bright yellow daisy-covered shirt, ready for it to begin. The Wild Patch Club was definitely something that Eleanor was excited for. The only people she knew that were in it were Orwell and Miya but hopefully she'd meet more people as she kept attending the events. Her eyes widened at the beautiful display that Orwell had set up when she arrived. It was spectacular and she was really amazed at the Ravenclaw's efforts. Were all lantern festivals like this? Eleanor had never been to one before and she only hoped that perhaps it was some kind of tradition at Hogwarts and that she'd be able to one day organise the event too. She grabbed one of the flower crowns, something that she had trouble making when she first tried, and simply stood there admiring everything around her. Many people were already there before her that she didn't recognise. She gave a polite wave to Miya and watched as many others arrived too. Were all these people in the club too? It sure seemed like something everyone enjoyed and Eleanor could not blame them.

After deciding that she should go and do something to contribute, Eleanor happily made her way over to Orwell and took a piece of parchment from him to write a wish down, except she wasn't really sure what to write and hesitated before talking to Orwell about it. "Hey Orwell! What do you think I should wish for?" she asked him, leaning against the table with the quill held firmly in her right hand, ready to write. Eleanor didn't really need to wish for anything as she thought her life was perfect. What could an eleven year old ever want to wish for? A pony? Eleanor didn't really like ordinary ponies as much as magical ones but she didn't want to waste her wish on something as stupid as that. Making up her mind was hard and not even a magical lantern festival could inspire her to write down something she had always wanted, which wasn't very much at all.

Orwell was glad when more of the members of the wild patch turned up, he waved and smiled at them as they did knowing that they would just get stuck into the event, he waved happily at Miya as she arrived, "Miya! Welcome!" he called to her hoping that she would feel more welcomed to the event, and he just happily watched as more arrived, he didn't know Reuben that well, although he got the impression from the boy that he didn't know any one here that well, and where Orwell had wanted to go over to him and be friendly with him, he had to man the stall, and couldn't exactly leave it, not so early on in the event. The teen was then distracted by Eleanor turning up, he smiled happily at her as she took one of the bits of parchment, "Whatever you want, but remember don't tell anyone or it won't come true," he joked with her with a bright smile, he had plenty of things he wanted to wish for, the primary one was for Archie to stop being sad which he had noticed was happening increasingly often. This thought prompted the teen to look back up at the younger boy, "Reuben, can you come help me out here?" he called to the younger boy, motioning with his hand and a bright smile on his face loving how the event was coming together.

Tholomyes was focusing hard on the lantern he was working on, he was trying to get it to be perfect and he had very little time left to actually get it to be so, but he was trying his hardest oblivious to the others who appeared around him, also arriving for the event, the boy only glanced up when he heard a familiar voice but it was different, and it took all of about two seconds to spot them, "Lilyanna?" he said questioningly, he hadn't really expected her to turn up at this event, and since she was a year below him he had no idea that this wasn't the girl he knew but someone identical to her, he wasn't sure what else to say, or if Lilyanna would even remember him, they'd only met once, and while the time had been good, he couldn't help but think that he wasn't all that memorable, that Lilyanna would've by now forgotten who he was, he motioned with his hand for her to join him, if she wanted to of course.

Arts and crafts had never been Archie's strong suit but he was determined to build a lantern all by himself to impress Orwell and refused to stop building the lantern until he thought it was perfect. He didn't notice when the event started or how many people decided to show up neither did he hear the sounds of everyone chatting from where he was sat cross legged in the grass. His mind was so engrossed in the task of building the lantern from scratch and adding flowers for decoration that he was entirely ignorant to the world surrounding him until after he added the final flower and stood up from his spot with a satisfied and accomplished smile on his face.

He dusted his clothes after standing up and then walked towards the event and ended up at Orwell's side while carrying his newly finished lantern in his hands. "I'm going to wish that we're best friends forever." Archie said. He had not heard Orwell mention that wishes told aloud aren't supposed to come true so he stood ignorantly with his accomplished smile still apparent on his face as he held his lantern towards his best friend for inspection. The lantern was not the prettiest Archie had seen. There were far better ones prepared for the event but he felt like his was the best regardless of it's appearance because he built the entire thing himself, without Orwell's help or the help of anyone else in the wild patch club. "What do you think?" He asked his best friend, hoping that if the lantern wasn't pretty enough for the event, that the effort he made to sit in one spot for longer than an hour while building the lantern and the wish he was going to attach to it would at least be appreciated.

Miya almost jumped in surprise when Orwell recognised her and didn't know how to react. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw Eleanor wave to her and Miya managed only a small half-smile, as the Hufflepuff was probably waving to someone else anyway. She frowned at the lantern she held in her hands. The flowers she had added to it looked wrong and too messy, and Miya was disappointed at how it had turned out. She thought about wishes she could make as she walked over to where Orwell was. "Hi?" she squeaked, generally greeting anyone within earshot. Miya pondered wishing for her parents to get back together, before feeling horrible. That would cause too much trouble and she didn't really want that. Maybe wishing for friends would be better? Acquiring friends though wish magic seemed wrong too. Miya entirely believed in wishes coming true and she did not want to jinx it. She fiddled with the flowers on her lantern some more while she thought of a suitable wish she should make.

Eleanor began to panic when Orwell told her that her wish wouldn't come true if she told anyone and instantly shut her mouth, not wanting to accidentally say anything. She was quite a gullible person and, despite not knowing what her wish was at the moment, she really did want it to come true and would feel bad if she did this all for nothing. She watched as an older boy had walked up to Orwell and Eleanor slowly took a step back away from the table, not knowing if Orwell would want her to stay there when his other friends that were his own age were turning up to join. She was glad that many people were there nonetheless and was very excited to see what else it would bring.

Eleanor quickly turned around when she heard her sister's name. She didn't think her sister would ever show up to something like a gardening club and was very surprised to hear her name. But looking over at who was saying it, she saw a boy who was looking directly at her. "Lilyanna?" she repeated, unsure what to say. The boy had obviously mixed them both up but since when had Lily made any friends at Hogwarts? "My name is Eleanor. How do you know Lilyanna?" she asked, wondering if whether or not she should join him. She wanted to find out how they met and simply walked over to him, not knowing whether or not she should sit down.

Orwell smiled warmly when he spotted arriving with a finished lantern in his hands, and couldn't help the small joke scowl that appeared on his face when Archie proceeded to tell him what he was wishing for, and although Orwell was sure that it wouldn't matter that Archie had told him his wish, he wholeheartedly intended to be Archie's friend forever he going on the pretension that it wouldn't become true if anyone said, "Archie," he fake whined but he just smiled at his best friend clearly not meaning it at all. The ravenclaw was glad that he had come to the event they'd been organising and he looked at the lantern he was presented with which was clearly made by Archie without much help from Orwell and Orwell as ever just loved it, because when it came to Archie he didn't need to do much to make him happy, "It's perfect," he told him honestly, the king of flowers took one of the parchment's for wishes and quickly wrote down one of his own wishes, which was almost identical to the wish that Archie had said he was wishing for and then he attached it to the lantern to show how much he intended to let it fly with the others, "There!" he added once he was done attaching it to the lantern, "You should attach it to some of the string I have lying about," he told him, unsure as to where this string was. It was as he tried to search for some that Miya walked up to where he was stood and greeted him with a nervous smile, and Orwell couldn't help but smile brightly in return, "Hey, Miya, this is Archie, Archie, Miya," he introduced his best friend to the girl, "Are you alright?" he asked the girl, "Do you want a hand with something?" he asked brightly he wanted to be sure that everyone had a good time.

Tholomyes was surprised at the Lilyanna's reaction, almost as if she didn't know who he was and the boy had been about to just ignore it and chalk it up to just not having made as good an impression as he thought he had but it became clear very quickly as this girl spoke that the reason she didn't know him was because he didn't know her. Perhaps they were twins, it would make sense as to why they were essentially identical and why he had mistake this girl for the other one, and Theo just gave her a small smile, "She's a friend," he replied with a little nervousness in his tone as if not entirely certain as to if they were actually friends, he figured that they were, since that would make sense but he was very unsure about that fact, Tholomyes could understand if she would suddenly decide to not be his friend, the ravenclaw thought of himself as a drag anyway. The boy smiled at this girl, forced a smile, "I'm Tholomyes," he introduced to her, "Theo for short," he added with a small shrug, "You must be Lilyanna's twin then?" the question was an obvious one but he figured that rather than assuming it was always good to ask, and if this girl was anything like her twin he was sure that they'd be able to get along, "Do you want to," he motioned to the area beside himself, as if asking her to join him but the words fading away before he was able to ask the question.

Miya smiled at Archie as they were introduced. Meeting people was always exciting and the school had so many new faces for Miya to memorise. She nodded once at Orwell's question. "I? Don't know what to wish for?" she admitted with a small shrug. There were too many wishes in the world and Miya was not prepared for the responsibility of picking just one. Being one of the floating lanterns would be less stressful, but Miya was not a lantern and therefore could not float, although she could fly a broom. She wondered what would happened if she tied some string to her ankle and jumped up into the air. Probably just fall into a heap on the ground and look silly, she reasoned.

Maddie had been too reluctant and shy to join the 'Wild Patch Club' in her first year and decided that she would turn up to one of the events this, her second year to see what all the fuss was about. She had heard great things about the club and she loved nature and the club was all about celebrating nature therefore she should love this club right?

She walked down to the Gardens and saw an already big group sitting around making something that she couldn't quite make out. But as she got closer she recognised someone, a boy with curly brown hair, a boy she hadn't seen in (what felt like) a long time. She skipped over to him and patted him on the shoulder "Theo! I didn't know you were part of this club!". In fact there were many people at this meeting that she knew. Maddie smiled and waved at Reuben who seemed busy writing something down. She also recognised one of the first years who she had taken out into the Forest with Hemi. She gave her a quick wink and decided to sit by Theo, hoping he didn't mind her intrusion.

Eleanor found it very hard to believe that her sister had already made some friends. She nodded at the boy nonetheless, making a mental note to ask her sister about it later, and smiled as he introduced himself. "Hey Theo, I'm Eleanor!" she exclaimed cheerfully, telling him her name again. "Yeah, Lilyanna is my twin." She sighed, somehow feeling slightly embarrassed at the fact. Theo probably already knew how annoying she was and hopefully he didn't think of Eleanor like that too. They were completely different people and Eleanor didn't like people who judged others too quickly. Thankfully, he seemed to want Eleanor's company but before she could sit down the girl that she recognised as the leader of the adventure club came up to them both and took the spot Eleanor was about to sit in. She took a step back. "Oh," she said, unsure what else she could say. She didn't know how to wink back at her and simply just stood there awkwardly, looking at the grass below her feet. Maybe she should get started on that wish soon?
