Willow Autumn stood in front of the mirror in her bedroom, criticizing her looks at every angle.
She wore a simple outfit - a Vintage silk dress with ocean blue tights, completing the look with silvery bronze peep-toe shoes. Even at her standards - it was a below-par effort into glamoring it up for the once-in-a-year event. Although she would have preferred to wear last year's Yule Ball outfit again (Dark glittery Blue with a black bow) she knew she would have been judged for wearing it again. She couldn't help but think that the Students get more uptight about each other on this one day, night, event. Never to give up the good fight, Willow started to fiddle with her hair but that just started to annoy her also - Settling down with soft curled ends and spraying it with shiny soft hairspray until she choked on the own fumes. So far, not so good. But make up had to be easy right? She hated wearing the stuff, she was twelve and preferred to roll around in mudslides - although her peers would beg to differ. Like always, her Aunt would send up some new cosmetics - and here she was brushing her face with liquid foundation and settling it with powder. She glanced at the Eyeliner. Her head started to scream no, but her hands applied it - thick and strong around her crystal blue eyes. A coat of the Mascara on her thick lashes and she was done. She wasn't pleased with her effort and promptly placed the floor length mirror on the ground. Exhausted by the effort already, she grabbed her clutch and made her way down to the Great Hall - Where she felt completely out of her zone.

Kate looked at herself in the mirror. She was rather pleased with her outfit though she wasn't completely comfortable in the dress. But that couldn't be changed now so she had to make do with what she had. She sat down by her dress side table and started to apply her make up.She wasn't putting on much just some mascara.eyeliner and lip gloss. She loved messing around with her eyes but she didn't have much time. She started fixing her hair. She hadn't done much with her hair. She had just put some mousse and hairspray in and that made the curls. She liked her hair this way and she silently thanked Willow for suggesting it.She then stood up and took a last look at herself in the mirror. When satisfied she made her way towards the Great Hall.

She was looking forward to tonight. She would have her good friends with her and they would hopefully have a good time. She was a little upset that Stefan wasn't coming but she at least had Jake. When she cam to the entrance to the Yule Ball she spotted Willow in a beautiful dress. "Hey Willow"She said walking over. She looked at the dress more closely,it was a very nice dress.Willow looked very pretty tonight "I love your dress"She said with a smile.

Sara was getting ready in her dorm room. She had used her GHD to perfectly style her hair, and was just about finished. Thankfully she had started early, so she still had plenty of time. She carefully combed her hair, flicking out the ends and spraying it with john frieda shine. Then she moved on to her dress. It was a beautiful cut-dior. A nice, bronze colour that brought out her skin tone. She pulled it over her head-it fit like a glove. Thankfully-it hadn't been pricey, though it was designer, because she got it at TK Max-a shop which sold designer clothes at low prices. She loved it and took a few moments looking in the mirror before she slipped into her matching shoes.
She then began working on her make-up. She sat in front of the mirror, in front of a well-lit window and applied liquid foundation, covered by blusher, which was then blended in by a light powder of powdered foundation. She smiled and put on some pinkish-nude lipgloss and took up her eyeshadow. She put on a small layer of brown, barely noticeable, but enough to frame her eyes. Next came eyeliner, applied with pristine care. Last, but not least was mascara, perfectly framing her dark, exotic eyes.

She smiled at herself in the mirror as she left and walked toward the great hall-she looked good tonight, and that was important to Sara. She glanced aroyund the room, giving it a once-over as she looked for her friends, many of the students were glamorously dressed, in beautiful satins and silks, but Sara still felt confident in her girlish ensemble. She walked over to Willow and Kate. They both looked wonderful, in a beautiful array of colours. "Hey guys." Sara smiled, shyly, they both looked amazing, and she tugged at her dress-nervous. "You look great." it had been a while since the three had hung out and she hoped it went well.

Link to Sara's outfit in the siggie.

Willow walked down the stairs and was greeted by the excited chattering of students and the hushing tones made by the professors. Everyone looked beautiful and Willow couldn't help but feel a little jealous again - Why didn't she make more of an effort on her outfit? Sighing and figuring it was too late, she walked around for bit, smiling to other students. Walking around in circles for a while, she found herself back to the Entrance and noticed Kate, she skipped towards her and grinned at her; "Kate! Your Dress is amazing!" and it was, Willow knew how it could have been hard for Kate to explain what her dress was like. It definitely had the red and black flower motifs and the dress was like a bubble dress emphasized with the glossy wide belt. "And you look amazing too" Willow gave Kate a hug and was starting to feel a little more excited.

Willow saw Sara coming along and was forcing herself not to drop her jaw. ...don't get jealous Willow. They can afford these type of things...don't get jealous.... Her mind was chanting. Sara looked amazing and she was feeling perhaps a little envious of Sara's dress. It fitted her perfectly and it was in shades of golds and neutrals. And Willow? Well she was just in a shade of blue and now Willow was starting to think her dress was way. very. way. too casual. She felt out of her zone but she was still happy (she thinks). "Sara, your dress! it's!" Willow pointed to the bow and the detail - she gave Sara a 'wow!' type look before giving her a hug to hide her jealous feelings. After all the dress talk she cocked her head and smiled; "So....did you two ask any guys to come along...or vice versa?" She gave them a wink.

Kate smiled "Thanks,as I said yours is lovely too."Kate said admiring the dress.Willow looked fantastic.Kate smiled shyly as Willow again complemented her.She wasn't really used to these type of things so all she could do was bow her head slightly and smile. "Willow you look amazing too"She said hugging her back. She was getting more and more excited about tonight and she could wait until the others arrived. She wasn't sure if Sara was bringing anyone. She knew Willow was and she herself had invited someone. She looked into the Great Hall and saw lots of people dancing. It looked really fun and Kate silently started singing along with the song.

Kate looked over and smiled when she saw her sister coming over. She looked very nice in her dress. It looked designer and it fitted Sara perfectly. She took a glance at Willow. She had a mixed amount of emotions on her face and Kate wasn't certain what they were but she had a bad feeling about it. "Hey sis,I love your dress"She said smiling and giving her a hug after Willow. She looked at Willow and Sara and at herself they all looked beautiful and Kate hoped their guests would appreciate the fact they were with such beautiful women.Kate did a little laugh "Well I am bringing a friend,a boy but don't worry we are just good friends"She said smiling her thoughts floating to Jake. They were best friends and had only met once or twice. They had a weird sort of relationship.Their moods constantly changed when they were with each other. One minute they could be dead serious then another they could be bursting out laughing. He was a good friend and she was glad he was coming tonight "His name is Jake"She said smiling. "What about you Sara"She asked. She already knew who Willow was bringing and she couldn't wait to meet him.

"Thanks-yours too!" Sara grinned, hugging her sister. "It looks really good." she grinned "Thanks, I got it at TK Max, they sell this stuff off really cheap." she smiled, she had made a great bargain on this dress-she could've bought a dress in Penny's for this much, but she loved TK Max-it was one of her favourite stores. "I love your dress, it matches your eyes perfectly." Sara grinned excitedly-fashion sense had become a lost art-so many people just wanted designer, but looking at this outfit she could be sure Willow wasn't one of them.

She pondered Willows question and said, with a mask of indifference. "No, I was going to ask Red-he's my best friend, but I haven't seen him lately." she smiled, glad that awkward moment was over. In fact she hadn't seen Kayden in weeks-were they still friends? "I'm looking forward to meeting the famous Jake. Who are you bringing Willow?" she asked, smiling. She had no doubt Willow would have some gorgeous guy on her arm. She was beautiful. Sometimes Sara wished she could have her long, black hair, but she knew she never would and had to settle with boring brown. "The hall looks great." she commented, almost to herself. She loved that she could be arround these friends and just feel comfortable being who she was.

Willow smiled; "You should have invited Red anyway" She laughed, "I've brought Chris along. You probably remember him from the wheelbarrow race?...anyway, I have no idea where he is sometimes so he'll probably bang into us at some point." She shrugged and smoothed out her dress again. Cursing herself quietly that was still so casual compared to Kate and Sara's, making a mental note that she'll make more of an effort next year.

Kate rolled her eyes at her sister.Jake was just a friend,a good one but nothing else. She smiled over at her sister "Are you sure you and Red are just friends?"She asked living the question hanging in the air.She had a little hunch about her sister and Red she could never seem to stop talking about him.She was kind of glad her sister was (maybe) liking somebody and making a good friend. It made her job as a sister a little easier knowing there was somebody else looking out for Sara even if Kate wasn't doing as much anymore.

Kate smiled at Willow "I can't wait to meet Chris,he seems to be something special"She said looking at Willow wondering was there anything going on there. She was a small bit jealous of the two. They had two nice guys how didn't have much secret where as she had somebody who was the biggest liar and @sshole on this earth. But she knew he didn't deserve those names he had a good reason even though she didn't know what it was.She did a little sigh her love life was so messed up tonight and it would be a little hard seeing lots of people happy together. "So will we go in or wait for the others"She asked. She knew the song that was starting and for the past few minutes she had been silently humming along with the previous songs

Jake had to go to the Yule Ball. He had to do it as a favour to Kate. That's why he got dressed in the standard for boys, he didn't make much of an effort. Mostly because he didn't know what to do. Fashion wasn't his forte much like any other guy. His hair was in its usual accidentally on purpose mess and that was all. It was nothing special really, but Jake had already assumed that it was up to the girls to make an effort on a night like this. Jake left his dorm room in a slight hurry, he was a bit late, by his watch at least and he didn't want to disappoint anybody. That's why when he got to the great hall he paused for a moment and looked around at the groups of students that were dressed up to the nines. He needed to see somebody he knew so he wouldn't look like he had no friends.

He saw Kate instantly, he let out a sigh of relief. She was with two other girls, one he recognised, it was Sara, Kate's twin. The other girl Jake hadn't seen before at all. He walked up to Kate and stood next to her. "Hey, I thought I was late." Jake stated, pretty casually at that, considering he was anxious. It was the massive crowd of people that was making him that way, and just as he thought he was starting to become confident too. Jake hadn't said anything to the other girls or taken much notice of them for that matter, he would talk to them if he needed to but now he just wanted to talk to his friend casually. Which didn't seem an easy feat at the time being.
