Food. That was the thing on the twenty-one year olds mind today. As soon as Jack Kaster woke up this morning, his stomach grumbled, which meant food was to eaten unless he wanted to die. So naturally, Jack aparated to the store and bought himself a bag of unpopped popcorn so he could eat it, without sharing with Parker. Parker had vaccumed up his last packet, the pig. The vegetarian couldn't resist the popcorn, especially since it was Jack's favourite food on planet Earth, but it seemed that Parker ate them, just as much as Jack. Jack had to be honest with himself, he was suspicious about it, because Parker was a vegetarian, and had never eaten popcorn until Jack sat down one night eating it, and then he practically attacked him for the bag and ate it all, how rude could he get? Just because Jack was living in his house he thought that he could eat all of Jack's food and leave him starving, what sort of best friend was he? A damn good one. Jack tottered into the kitchen that he helped keep clean and sat on the bench, reading the instructions on the back of the bag. Considering that he ate the popcorn all the time, he often forgot exactly how long to put it on for, it was crazy, but true. He smirked and hopped down, humming as he put the popcorn in the microwave and turned it on. There was one thing he hated about living with Parker. Parker seemed to like not using magic. Jack found that simply crazy and he never failed to laugh, because Parker was a pure-blood, and by a lot of people he would be considered 'more wizard' than Jack, but who used their magic the most? Jack. Who was the most used to using muggle stuff? Parker. Who apparated everywhere? Jack. Who yelled at the other for being 'lazy' and 'addicted' to magic? Parker. Jack found it really funny.

POP!Jack smiled as he heard the popcorn start popping, he would be having popcorn deliciousness very soon. He was super excited for food. Jack loved to eat, it was great, and the best bit was that he never gained weight, it was great, though he did do a lot of flying and Parker at a clearing nearby, they would play two-player Quidditch there for fun, they had to change a lot of the rules though, because of the fact that there was only to of them. One of the rules Jack loved the most was the fact that, if they really wanted to, they could apparated around the place, it was hilarious. When he thought about it, the game they made up really couldn't be considered Quidditch anymore, because nearly every rule was altered or changed in some way because of their numbers and the fact that they had to be quiet and had to make sure they they could stop in seconds, just in case some nosy muggle came back on a bushwalk or something. Since they were both too lazy to put up any spells that would make people ignore the area, they had to change the rules. POP! Jack smiled again, just a few more pops like that and he'll have his popcorn. He nodded slightly and crossed his arms across his chest and lent against the bench lazily, he wanted the popcorn now, as in, right now. He didn't want to wait anymore, though he hadn't been waiting that long, his stomach was starting to eat his insides. He chewed his lip and began to think of Samual, that boy had an endless energy. He shock his head, not again, everytime he thought of Samual or Lisa, or Tamalia, or Hamish, or Bethany, or even Tess and Lucy, his heart swelled with regret at the thought of them all sitting in obscure places and missing him, he missed every single one of them, he missed how he and Tess would fight like cat and dog over nothing. He missed how Tamalia would find new and exciting ways to scare the crap out of him. He missed Samual being his typical crazy self. He missed playing Quidditch with his magical siblings, though the rules would be slightly altered, they were allowed to tackle eachother in Kaster Quidditch 'tournaments', great times. POP! "Oooh, food!" He cheered excitedly, forgetting the depressing thoughts of family and leaping to the microwave, pulling out the popcorn, forgetting that it was really hot. "Merlin!" He yelled, shaking his hand and adding a few colourful words. He then calmed down and quickly pulled the bag out and opened it, pouring the yummy contains into a large yellow bowl. He looked down at his breakfast. Oh yes, he was one happy twenty0one year old.

Parker Smith sighed as he started back towards his apartment. He had been at the store all morning trying to find some redvines. Apparently you couldn't get them from anywhere anymore, which was kind of a shame really. Parker and Jack did so love their redvines and now they would no longer be able to just chew on a redvine when they were angry. Parker shook his head. Wasn't that how things always went these days. The things you needed would go away? He sighed and turned the corner. The candy store was only a ten minute walk from his house. Sure he could have apparated but he much prefered to walk. Afterall he needed the excercise and he saw magic as just a cheap way to get out of doing the things that needed to be done. Take Jack for example, he had a way of getting under Parker's skin by using magic for everything. Parker was still trying to figure out how and why the man wasn't fat. Sure Parker was a Pure-blood and all, but did that mean that he had to use magic all the time? If it meant that Parker had to ignore his friendship with Jack, a half-blood and his obvious attraction to Jack's younger sister, Tess, then he didn't even want to be a Pure-blood. He would be just fine being a half-blood or a mixed blood or even a muggle-born. They were the ones he really admired. They came from muggle homes and had to learn a whole knew way of life. It was okay for those of the magical community who were born into it, but the muggle-borns had to learn all about the culture and the magic. They were at a disadvantage and yet some of the smartest people he knew were muggle-borns. Even Richard had married a muggle, until she and his two kids had died and he had then gone all dark and scary and become a Death Eater. He couldn't help but to wonder if the fact that Nadia had stopped sending him letters had something to do with that. He shook his head and sighed. That was between Nadia and Richard and there was nothing he could say that would change the way they treated each other. He and Richard used to be very close, but now they barely spoke. He was a blood traitor. Disowned from the family. Never to set foot in the family manor. He didn't care though. It wasn't something that he particularly missed anyway. He had barely spent time there as a child anyway.

As he got closer to the house he could almost sense that something was amiss. He cautiously approached his front door and pushed it open. Hard. There was cursing and movement coming from the kitchen. Parker jumped over to the enterance and nearly screamed. In his attempt to make popcorn, Jack had somehow managed to knock over every one of Parker's appliances and the corresponding power cords aswell. "Jack! Mate, what the hell?" He asked as he stepped into the once spotless kitchen. It was for this reason that Parker usually banned Jack from the kitchen. He had a way of making a complete mess of anything anc everything. Even their last packet of redvines was all over the ground. Though he had to admitt. Not one piece of popcorn was out of the bag. A new record for Jack it seemed. "Are you going to clean this up?" Coz I'm sure as hell not. I didn't make the god damn mess..." He complained as Jack tried to settle his obviously burned hand. Man his bestfriend was dumb. If Parker didn't know any better he would have thought that Jack had the iq of plankton. And knowing Jack, he would be pleased with the result.

Jack began to eat the popcorn, one by one, totally ignorant of the fact that he had killed the kitchen, and basically everything in it. He looked up when he heard Parker come in the house, by the sound of the door being opened, he didn't seem very happy at all, and hwen Jack saw his best friends face, he could have swore that he was going to have amental breakdown, he was pulling that face where his right eye would twitch and his mouth would basically land on the ground, his blue eyes looked about ready to fall out of his skull too. Oh how he loved seeing Parker's crazy face, it never failed to send him into fits of laughter, and this was no acception. He place the bowl on the empty bench and frowned, he could have sworn that the microwave once sat there, how interesting. He then lent on the bench, something he always did because he was too lazy to stand, he tilted his head and then came to the realisation that he had killed the kitchen. He began laughing once again and Parker started to complain. Sometimes Jack felt that he moved in with an old lady, because Parker was always complaining about something, it was crazy, but Jack didn't overly mind, it reminded him of Ben, so in a way it was comforting to him, he had grown to accept the fact that Ben was never going to be by his side again, finally, it was about time too. The dreams slowly stopped and the looking over his shoulder, or pause in sentence stopped too, all the old habits he had because of his twin were nearly gone, or they were replaced by Parker, Jack had really grown to Parker, he was like his unofficial twin now. It felt nice, having a 'twin' again, even if he couldn't use Parker as a mirror, it was okay. He wasn't sure if Parker realised that ack considered him his new twin, but he was positive that he wouldn't overly mind it either, Jack wouldn't just choose anyone to be his twin. Parker only made the cut because they had known eachother since forever and in all honesty, when attending Durmstrang together, they went on all sorts of completely crazy adventures that ended up with one of them suffering from hypothermia or something similar. Jack nearly caught frostbite once, that was a good memory, except when he thought he was going to lose his toes, that wasn't so good. He smiled weakly. "I was making breakfast..." He explained, looking at the bowl of popcorn that sat innocently on the empty bench, where the microwave used to be.

He then rolled his eyes at how old personish Parker was sounding, he must have traded personalities with one of the nosey old ladies next door, the ones Jack spoke German around so they wouldn't talk to him, they creeped him out. "Parker, calm your wand." He said, waving his arms slowly in a calming motion. "Everything will be fine. The kitchen will live to cook more popcorn for me, don't worry. I can fix this easy." He said, noddding.
