This is open to anyone on the Thundelarra Thunderers. No need to ask just hop on in!
Honestly, Derrick didn't know what he was doing. Well no, he knew exactly what he was doing. But still, he didn't know. Maybe moving halfway across the globe to try and see the kids he had practically abandoned years ago was not a good idea. He was sure his Ex would agree with him on that one. So it was lucky that she didn't know he was here. Not that her knowing would change anything. Derrick was pretty damn determined to have a better relationship with his offspring and try and make up for all the lost time. Which there was an awful lot of.
At least he had an excuse other than his kids to be here. After retiring from playing, it kind of made sense to move into a coaching role and luckily enough there was one open. Sure, he had failed to mention he had never actually coached before. And while he was sure he was not going to be the coach of the year anytime soon, he was going to try and give it a shot. How hard could it be? He knew the game, he had played it professionally for over a decade. All he had to do now was stand there and yell at people to play it better than they were. Easy enough. But as he stood there in front of the Thundelarra Thunderers, arms crossed over his chest and the semi-permanent scowl on his face, he did have to wonder again what he was actually doing here. "Right." Might as well start simple with an introduction. "I'm Derrick Elliott and I'm your new coach for the foreseeable future. Yes, I am English. Yes, I did use to play at a professional level. Any other dumb questions before we move on?"
