Briony had been more than keen for a pet for Hogwarts but after only one very brief conversation with her parents over school approved it had become clear quickly that if she wasn't planning on getting an owl, she likely wasn't getting anything. That was fine, Briony wasn't going to dwell on it. Especially not when she could improvise now that she was at school.

So, head in a bush, Briony poked around curiously, parting branches slowly and humming thoughtfully as she waited for movement to catch her eye, heedless of her legs and body stretched out across the garden path even as a few loose stones dug uncomfortably into her stomach.

Morrie strolled through the garden in a particularly foul mood, her thoughts a tangled mess. She had been reflecting on her time at Hogwarts so far and how horrible it all was. As she walked along, she suddenly tripped over something, sending her stumbling forward with a mix of surprise and annoyance. Looking down, Morrie discovered a girl with her legs sprawled out across the garden path, further souring her mood. Morrie snapped at her, "Seriously? Could you be any more inconsiderate? You shouldn't leave your legs in the middle of the path like that!"

Kyousuke hadn't visited the gardens yet but now that the weather was warming up he knew some flowers might be in bloom, and he was curious to see if the school had any cherry blossoms. He was stumped when he saw a student with her body lying across the pathway, head in a bush. Another student had happened upon her too, snapping angrily at the girl for some reason. Kyousuke recognised the latter girl as one from his year, but didn't know her name. "Is it that big a problem?" Kyousuke asked, thinking it was weird, but it was easy enough to walk around her. "I'm more interested in why her head's in the bush in the first place," Kyousuke said, tilting his head slightly to the side. "Is there something in the bush?" he wondered, half to himself, half to anyone else.
