Landon always enjoyed the start of a new semester. Everything was fresh and people genuinely seemed in better moods, which the man liked to see. He thought that getting people together when they were in the best of moods was a great idea, and there was nothing he would've liked to see more than his students getting along and making more friends.

Landon spent the morning organising a picnic for his Hufflepuffs, as it had been a while since he last organised a get together outside of the usual meetings. He liaised with the house elves to get some sandwiches and drinks prepared, and they helped him bring them out to the Great Lawn where he was setting everything up. He had a few large picnic rugs laid out on the grass, and on each rug he placed a basket full of sandwiches, sweets, and drinks.

There was a pile of board games in the middle that he hoped that his students would find entertaining. Most of them were classic muggle board games, but for those that might have found them confusing, he also had a game of wizard's chess and some stones for a game of gobstones. Additionally, he had prepared a basket of flowers for those that wanted to make flower crowns, so that way there was hopefully some fun for everyone.

The man didn’t expect many people to come, but he waited eagerly for those who would. He checked every picnic basket twice to make sure no one was missing out on anything, and paced around a little anxiously, really hoping this was all going to go well.

Geo felt more secure than ever, back at Hogwarts and amongst her family. Of course, gradually her step children were now graduating and making lives of their own, but it would be a long time until her youngest children attended the school, and even longer until they'd all graduated.

She was taking a walk through the lawn, something that was a common experience ever since her jogging days when she was a student herself, although it was much healthier for her to be walking in her current state. She smiled at Professor Carter's, spotting a sort of gathering he'd erected on the grass. She didn't want to intrude, perhaps this was part of a lesson he was teaching, although with thr students currently doing their own thing, the professor seemed be pacing in anticipation.

When Geo was a student, she'd moved to Hogwarts Scotland during her sixth year. It was beneficial for her to spend more time in the UK since she planned to work in the British Auror Office, however once she'd returned to New Zealand in her seventh year she'd been greeted by a new Head of House. Her former Herbology professor now lead her house, and while she'd never really had the chance to speak to him properly before, maybe now was the chance.

Closer inspection told Geo that games had been set up, and there was food and snacks readily available too. "This looks like fun, professor," Perhaps it was his birthday. She'd paused her walk a few feet away from the event, unsure whether she should proceed.

Mary Paige had read about the Hufflepuff event on their bulletin board and headed out to the lawn, hoping to see some of her roommates join the gathering. She waved at the professor as she gathered some flowers and then took a seat near one of the baskets. Flower crowns sounded like fun, and it was the perfect time of year to wear one. She started weaving two flowers together and reached for another from her pile.

Fi had been a little disappointed that the Hufflepuff meeting was a picnic. She had been reluctant to go, but as the day came and it was overcast, she decided that she could give it a try. She put on her sunglasses and a sunhat and went outside. glad that it watn too bright.
She sat in the shade of a tree near to one of the older students who was making something out of flowers. "how are you doing that? what are you making" she asked. wondering how she managed to get the flowers to stay together.

Mary Paige looked up when a seemingly younger student asked her how she was making a flower crown. "I'm just kind of twisting the stems together and then making sure the flowers are facing outward so they can be seen when it's all done. Here, you want to try?" she asked the girl, pushing the basket closer to her. "I'm Mary Paige, what's your name?" @Fiona Archer

Landon beamed as he saw his former Hufflepuff student and now colleague begin to approach. “I sure hope it’s fun!” he exclaimed in reply. He gestured for her to come over as she seemed a little hesitant to do so. “Come, Geo. Can I get you anything? A glass of pumpkin juice maybe?” He was happy for anyone to join, but really he wanted to make it most special for his Hufflepuffs, whether they be current or former. The man smiled at a couple younger students that began making some flower crowns and socialising. He was ecstatic that it was already turning out so good. “How have you been, Geo? Everything going well in your professor position?” Landon admittedly didn’t talk much to his colleagues as he was always so focused on making sure his students were happy, so he thought he should take the opportunity to get to know one of his newer colleagues.

Jonah had promised Hina that he was going to try and actually not cause trouble for Hufflepuff this year and give the house a chance. Which was why he ended up going to the picnic—it was a shame though, that he didn't know whether he could have asked Lumos to come or not. He did bring Eury along though. Practically had to drag her down really since she wasn't really the type for picnics. But they did get there. When Jonah saw the basket of flowers, he carefully made his way over to that corner, bringing his cousin with him. He took a seat and gingerly started to weave a flower crown for Eury and for himself.

Eury did not want to go to the picnic. It just wasn't her scene. It was... she didn't exactly want to sit on the ground and eat food on the ground. Nope. But Jonah had been insistent. And Jonah was ever really insistent. And besides, it wasn't like she really hung around him all that much since they were usually off hanging out with their respective boyfriends. So she'd given in. Let Jonah drag her to the Hufflepuff picnic where she'd scrunched her nose at the whole setup. "Really?" she groaned as Jonah actually dragged her towards a basket of flowers which he started weaving into a crown. The first of which she helped put on his head. Might as well help him, so she would hand him flowers every now and then while she watched him.
