Joshua held the Ravenclaw notebook Sophie had gifted to him last year. A leather black book filled with blank, ivory pages ready to be filled with whatever he wanted. In the middle of the leather journal was a Ravenclaw crest boldly drawn reflected at him. He has yet to write a single word in fear of ruining Sohpie's gift and the fact that he had a bad case of writer's block during his school break. It's like every time he sat down to write anything, nothing would come to mind. Nada. Sometimes he would stare at the blank pages for hours before tia suggested that he went outside to get some fresh air or anything else but sitting down as the famous thinking man statute. With his return to school and as one of the editors for the Hogwarts Monthly he was counting to have plenty to write about with him entering his seventh year. Joshua set the journal down at a nearby table and sat down on a chair with other seats circling beside him. The seventh year waited for the other HM members to arrive. He set up a snack table of what Sophie would usually get them from the kitchen last year, including a punch bowl the house elves brung upstairs just a few minutes ago. Joshua thank them before their wobbly little heads disappeared from thin air. Joshua looks down at his watch, another gift from tia after she heard about him making prefect. Not too long now, he thought, they should be coming any minute now.

Sydney still had her doubts over how the club would be run this year. She liked Leda well enough, she wasn't afraid to go for what she wanted, even if Sydney had heard some doubts about her integrity. Joshua however was a bit of an unknown. He'd been assistant last year but Sydney had mostly ignored him, he was pretty timid and she found it hard to imagine him in a leadership role. Frankly, she missed Sophie, not that she would admit such out loud. Stepping into the clubroom, Sydney frowned, nodding at Joshua in a small show of deference before getting a drink and sitting down.

Nell was actually anxious about returning to the Monthly this year. It had been her favourite club since she had first arrived at Hogwarts, but she didn't know what to expect now. Sophie had been leader for the entire time Nell had been on the paper, and it felt surreal walking into the newsroom and not seeing her, knowing she would never see Sophie in this room again. She took a seat, wondering what to expect from the club's new leadership. She had worked with Josh for a while and liked him, but Leda was still new to the paper, and she had been one of the older kids getting into fights at the SDA and Wild Patch meeting last year. Nell didn't know if she could trust someone like that. She stayed uncharacteristically quiet as she waited for the meeting to begin, doodling flowers idly on the notepad she brought to HM meetings.

Leda was confident in her abilities to lead the Hogwarts Monthly, given she was also the Co Captain in Quiddtch and had been for over a year, and even though she had only joined the paper in her fifth year, she'd been working on it incredibly hard, having written articles for herself since she'd joined the school. She still believed that she was making a good influence submitting her articles to the school paper, and was glad for the outlet. She enjoyed the other clubs too, but they didn't have the same power behind them. Besides, this club didn't have nearly as many members that would begin arguing with one another, and so the Head Girl was able to relax more than at other events rather than be on the look out for defending students, especially the younger ones.
The Slytherin entered the meeting room and gave half a smile to Joshua who'd already set up their meeting. Leda too had her Slytherin notebook that was gifted from Sophie last year; as somewhat of a memento and good luck charm. "Well, it is exciting in here, isn't it," she said slightly sarcastically as she peered between those that were already in the room. She knew this club was quiet but she did think that they may talk to one another. "Hey," she gave a nod towards the Ravenclaw, "Have you been here long?" she asked, hoping more people would still turn up. The red head turned toward the two younger students then, looking at them in turn.

Joshua gave a lopsided smile as members started to show up, trying to appear warm and welcoming while they took their seats. Not everyone took a like him so as their new HM leader, they may not like him at all. And it was okay, they're free to have their own opinion of him. Joshua agrees to take over when Sophie asked him, and that is exactly what he was doing. Trying to carry them on where they left on, with the help of Lead of course. "Hey, help yourselves, and chat if you like. We'll be starting once everyone else gets here," he would say just as Leda arrived. Joshua chuckles, in typical Leda fashion she greeted them. "Not that long, a good half hour I was here setting up," Joshua responded. He checked his watch again, he would be quite embarrassed if the other members didn't show. It would mean he needs to fix up his approach, attract his members some other way. Get them coming in or he was failing as a club leader.
