The Yule Ball had arrived again bringing with it it's usual cheer and drama that surrounded the castle of Hogwarts like some sort of virial plague. Luckily, himself and Jenn had arranged to go together which put an instant stop to the regular epic drama of finding a date. In the past they had attended as actual dates something which was making him reconsider asking her in the first place. Would that make things awkward between them? Would she even want to go with him again? However running into her in the common room shortly after these thoughts silenced them entirely. He hadn't felt that way about Jenn since he was a kid? Why would things get awkward all these years later? And so, Sam asked Jenn to go with her and without a doubt in his mind, he knew that the Yule Ball of 2026 was going to be a good one.
He opted for a more casual look this year, he wasn't out to impress anyone and he knew that Jenn of all people wouldn't mind. So he threw his black jacket over his t-shirt, his messy hair flopped across his forehead and he left his dorm room quite anticipating tonights event. Something he highly enjoyed about the Yule Ball was seeing the amount of effort the little guys put into it, shiney shoes, sharp suits, he was one of them once. Where he got a tux to fit him still surprised him. He flicked his hair out of his eyes as he walked down the marble staircase, his converse silent amongst the clicks of stiletto heels and the sounds of other uncomfortable shoes. He didn't recall actually arranging a place to meet Jennifer in the decorated hall that was now occupied by the usual mass of students that attended this thing. However, they were both pretty tall people, he was positive they'd spot each other, especially with the new look Jenn was sporting. He pushed his way through the crowd and took a spot by the drinks table. With a choice of plenty, he poured himself a cup of pumpkin juice and leaned back onto the long table, watching the crowd around him at his sixth Yule Ball at Hogwarts.
