The Yule Ball had arrived again bringing with it it's usual cheer and drama that surrounded the castle of Hogwarts like some sort of virial plague. Luckily, himself and Jenn had arranged to go together which put an instant stop to the regular epic drama of finding a date. In the past they had attended as actual dates something which was making him reconsider asking her in the first place. Would that make things awkward between them? Would she even want to go with him again? However running into her in the common room shortly after these thoughts silenced them entirely. He hadn't felt that way about Jenn since he was a kid? Why would things get awkward all these years later? And so, Sam asked Jenn to go with her and without a doubt in his mind, he knew that the Yule Ball of 2026 was going to be a good one.

He opted for a more casual look this year, he wasn't out to impress anyone and he knew that Jenn of all people wouldn't mind. So he threw his black jacket over his t-shirt, his messy hair flopped across his forehead and he left his dorm room quite anticipating tonights event. Something he highly enjoyed about the Yule Ball was seeing the amount of effort the little guys put into it, shiney shoes, sharp suits, he was one of them once. Where he got a tux to fit him still surprised him. He flicked his hair out of his eyes as he walked down the marble staircase, his converse silent amongst the clicks of stiletto heels and the sounds of other uncomfortable shoes. He didn't recall actually arranging a place to meet Jennifer in the decorated hall that was now occupied by the usual mass of students that attended this thing. However, they were both pretty tall people, he was positive they'd spot each other, especially with the new look Jenn was sporting. He pushed his way through the crowd and took a spot by the drinks table. With a choice of plenty, he poured himself a cup of pumpkin juice and leaned back onto the long table, watching the crowd around him at his sixth Yule Ball at Hogwarts.

Jennifer had gladly told Sam that she would go with him to the Yule Ball, not even thinking of possibility that it could be uncomfortable because she and Sam had grown so much since they dated and there was no spark between them. They were friends and this was why she didn't give any thought to whether Sam would like what she was to wear to the ball or not. Her dress was tight around her thin body and she wore silver heels that she tried to be graceful in as she walked down to the Great Hall. That, however, was a little harder done than said. Jennifer was not known for her grace, despite the outrageous shoes that she wore.

Walking in, Jenn remembered that she and Sam had not decided where to meet. This, was why the seventeen-year-old asked Joceline Richarde if she knew where Sam Prince was. "He's right by the drinks." Jenn thanked the blue-eyed girl before making her way over to her best friend. As she saw him and when she was sure that he saw her too, she raised her arm and wiggled her fingers as a wave. "Hey Sammy. Lookin' sharp." With a small wink, Jenn laughed before she raised her arms for a hug from her best friend. Sure they hadn't spent much time apart, but it was just how they greeted one another.

It was only as the cool pumpkin juice trickled down his throat that Sam became aware of how thirsty he actually was. And so, he found himself filling up his cup again with the surprisingly unpopular drink in no time at all. He turned around once more, facing the crowded hall, it's decor once again unnesscarily extravagent although it certainly did add to the atmoshpere of the ball each year, it wouldn't really be the same without it. His eyes subconsciously followed a dancing couple as his thoughts became fogged and scattered, but only until things got a little too intimate, in which case he turned sharply in the other direction. It was then that he spotted the tall blonde in the crowd. It wasn't exactly hard to locate Jennifer Wilkonson what with her long platinum blonde locks and the sexy mini she was currently donning.

He smiled at her from the distance as she made his way over to him all the while setting down his half empty cup of pumpkin juice. "Hey!" He greeted warmly and lifted his bum off the edge of the table. "You're looking pretty snazzy yourself." He gleamed at her after his eyes had trailed down her thin frame. He took a small step to close the distance between himself and his best friend and comfortably wrapped his arms around her in a hug. It was quite a brief hug, but it was perfectly normal between the two. He squeezed her tightly before pulling away altogether. "So what's the deal tonight then?" He asked as he repostioned himself on the edge of the table. "Are we dancing or making fun of the glammed up first years? Your call." He asked, a playful sheen misting his blue eyes.
