GRYFFINDORS TO THE PITCH

Zura walked slowly out onto the pitch to see a rabble of students already there. With her firebolt in hand she wandered over to them and sighed when she saw who the captain of the team was. She didn't look anywhere else and could seriously careless who else was on the pitch at that moment, she just wanted her shot at a team placement.

When no one else stood up to take their turn, Zura wrote her name down and clarified with the captain what she wanted before straddling her broom and kicking off. The wind was in her favour for the first length of the pitch so she was able to go at break neck speed to the other end of the pitch, in and out of the hoops she swerved, turning with grace and speed. Being a seeker on her last team had given her an edge where speed was concerned. She was fast and she knew it. Belting back up the pitch, Zura kept herself focused but wondered briefly why there weren't any obstacles to bar their way. A rogue bludger would have been great altogether, she preferred to work against the odds. At the other end she swerved neatly around the hoops there as well before zigzagging down the column of the hoop as if wanting to show off a little.

Amzurah was well aware her time would be good and felt she had plenty to do the odd trick, the least the sodden captain could do was roll her eyes and tell her to ease up on the theatrics in future, or so she hoped anyhow. Landing easily she dismounted from her broom and walked over with a knowing grin on her face to see her time. Her smile faltered just a little, she should have done better than that but she certainly wasn't going to let Andromeda know that.

Time: 00:02:48

Andromeda watched and recorded each time as the students went up and did the trial. She smiled kindly at the youngest girl knowing that she would feel somewhat disheartened by her time once she saw the more experienced fliers. They were all great really and she smiled to see Kida return and though she hadn't needed to do a time trial she had a feeling that her team mate had simply wanted to get up in the air anyhow.

What she had not expected was the gall of Noah to start glaring at her and after his trial to toss his bat at her feet, narrowly missing them. She placed a foot over it and glowered effectively with her own amber eyes. Their molten pools would make mince meat of the softest of fools at the best of times. She was in no mood for one of his moods. He would probably laugh to find out that things were not all rosey in the garden of Crispin and Andy at that moment, but it was none of his business and she could well do without his theatrics. As if she had not enough to contend with, writing down the time of Victor and congratulating him on his time, Amzurah Archer showed up.

Andy gave her the instructions to follow and rolling her eyes went to stand by Kat to watch her.
"They're actually ok aren't they?" she whispered not wanting the likes of Noah to think any praise was due him. The girl flew up and down the pitch effortlessly and Andy sighed when she saw the unnecessary maneuver towards the end but even with it the girls timing was great. She turned around and looked at Ruki, he had the choice to go up if he wanted but she wasn't forcing any of the old team up there. With a brief smile she turned away once more and looked to the clipboard.

"You all did really well... now the real test. Your speed is only great when it's up against bludgers and beaters. So if Kida and Ruki wouldn't mind stepping up to bat, I want the rest of you to take up position at either end of the pitch. Tohoru, Trinity and Damien go to the south end of the pitch. Victor, Noah and Amzurah to the north end. Imogen you are going center with myself and Kat. On my whistle I want you to fly to the other end of the pitch. Sounds easy huh? Myself, Kat and Imogen will toss you a quaffle that you have to attempt to make it into the hoops on the other end. It's not easy catching a quaffle when you're flying and it's even harder when you have these two great beaters attempting to whack you out of the skies." she indicated towards Kida and Ruki as she spoke, not caring how much out of joint Noah's nose got over this.

"Any questions?" she waited a moment to make sure they were all clear on what they had to do before blowing her whistle and ordering them to take up positions.

Imogen you can still do your time trial just post it in a spoiler before or at the end of your post for this set up ;)

Kida eyes lit up when Andy asked her to Hit some beaters around "i thought you would never ask!!" she said excited as she mounted her broom and picked up her beaters bat "i promise i won't try to knock them out there only little after all" she said with a smile slapped across her face, she couldn't wait to get up into the skys again.

Once Andy had finished giving instructions Kida Beamed "Nup No Questions from me... lets fly!" she said eager to hit the sky's again.
Kida shot off the ground in no time at all swinging her beaters bat around. Kida few up in the pitch and then waited hovering waiting for some action, Kida hadn't played Quidditch in a while, and she couldn't wait to hit the skys, it was hard to practice being a Beater when all her friends were to scared to get hit by one.

"HEY ANDY!" she called out "Where are these Little Bludgers Hiding!" she said as she shot around the pitch waiting for the rest of the team to hit the sky's

The Gryffindorian had grown nervous as more and more people arrived. She didn't think she would be good enough to beat all these other people. She didn't have her own broom. This wasn' through a fault of her memory, Immy wanted a broom badly, but she just didn't have that kind of money. Not now anyway. Imogen stood looking around holding in to the school broom. She took a step back and let the others before her go first. It wasn't until everyone had been that Imogen finally decided that she should just go. "I'll go now" Imogen said With as much confidence as she could muster.

Imogen walked out from the crowd of people. Everyone had been so good. She just had to do the best that she could. She had to give her best. Imogen got onto the brooom and kicked up off the ground. She took a few seconds to steady herself before leaning forward and begining to fly. She started off at a fair pace. Slower than most had but gaining speed as she went along. Despite feeling very nervous and like she wouldn't get a place on the team Imogen was flying with the confidence she usually had. Flying was the single most freeing experience a person could have. Immy was flying a lot faster and nearing the hoops. She cornered a little late and ended up almost turning outside the boundrias of the pitch. Immy regained herself, flying faster than ever back round. She was a chaser. She knew this. She could catch a ball well, and flying was easy. It was a simple matter of putting the two together. Imogen smiled to herself. Quidditch and flying was amazing.

Imogen finished the final lap, at an even quicker speed. She came in to land and stopped a few metres away from the concentration of people were she stopped the timer and smiled. Fairly happy with her fair time of 3minutes 15 seconds exactly. It could be better she was sure. But this was her first tryout a little badish time compared to others was probably okay.

00:0:cry:15

imogen joined the rest of the group holding the broom in her hand. The blonde hair had been blown about in the wind as she had flown. She listened as Andy instructed on what they were going to do next. It sounded good and hard. Immy was pleased to be working as a chaser of sorts, throwing the quaffle to people. She nodded happly . She was a little worried about the bludgers. She didn't want to be hurt by them. She nodded ready. She got onto her broom and waited for all the others to be ready, before taking a quaffle and on the whistle flying up into the air and flying to the centre of the pitch and getting ready to start throwing around the quaffle.

Noah remained to keep happy until all the time trials were done. It was after that in which his anger toward Andromeda seemed to pulse back into action when she didn't give him the opportunity to show his 'beating' skills. None the less, he wasn't going to let the team Captain know anything about that now was he? With Andy's command, Noah smirked and stood onto his broom, commanding it up as he hovered into the air - balancing the best he could.
"As you wish Queen Andromeda." Noah smirked teasingly, as if to imply that she was stuck up. Moving slowly across the field to meet with the North hoops, Noah readied himself for the race against odds.

Dropping swiftly down to his broom, Noah's legs fell over either side and after an adjustment or two, the young Wizard sat rather comfortably. Adjusting his gloves, Noah leaned back in his broom slightly, looking into the air. Closing his eyes, he said a few words, and seconds later he was gazing forward at Kida. Lifting his left arm into the air, Noah gave a thumbs up to his fellow beater from last year, as well as giving a thumbs up to Andy to show that he was ready. All that was left now, was to wait for the others to get themselves up and ready. Noah didn't mind waiting however, he was more than willing to have a chat with the trying out Wizards and Witches.

Still in the stands, Ruki continued to watch the growing number of students take their turns in the sky. The young wizard had no idea how each team member would be chosen, but then remembered the previous year's try-out. Everyone had made the team. Maybe that would happen again for next year. There would only be one opportunity left for the sixth year to play for the house team. Hopefully, they could work just as hard; and come away with a win from each game. Not having a house cup to win at Durmstrang meant Ruki cared little for winning one now. But it might be nice to achieve something different.

As one of the house-mates neared the stands, having completed his turn, Ruki recognised him as a fellow sixth year; and returned the nod given to him. He couldn't place a name to the face however, having only spotted him on occasion during lessons. With the addition of yet more Gryffindors arriving to the stadium, Ruki hoped they would take to the air and be back father quick; which is basically what they achieved. Most of the attempts had been fairly quick, but, from where he was sat, he couldn't see the times. Catching Andromeda looking towards him, the young wizard met her gaze; and hoped she wouldn't force him up. The sixth year let out a breath through a smile as she turned away. He was too distracted with the constant butterflies in his stomach to pull off any sense of a decent time. Especially one he likely didn't require. So with a choice, he simply chose not to.

Andromeda's voice began to float across the air, as she congratulated the group so far. Hearing the mention of his name, the young wizard sat up a little. At last. A little bit of action. Some practice smashing Bludgers around was more interesting than racing about through the air. Listening to his friend give her instructions, Ruki rose to his feet and moved towards the pitch. At her final comment, the young wizard grinned slightly. This was the way a try-out should be run. Picking up a spare bat from the side of the field, not having bothered to purchase his own the previous year, Ruki began to grip it in his left hand. With not holding one for most of the year, it would take a few minutes to become used to the feeling. At the invitation to ask questions, Ruki looked back towards Andromeda. He couldn't think of anything he needed to ask, so remained silent; allowing anyone else in the group to speak. With the blowing of the whistle, Ruki, relaxed; awake; and prepared, mounted his Streak; and took to the skies. Rising slowly, the young wizard settled his weight against he broom; and began a flight of small circles. Kida's voice echoed through the air, and Ruki began to chuckle slightly. Now he was up there, he was anxious to meet the Bludgers too.

[I'm sorry guys for keeping you waiting, I will like to apologize x_X Linda could've mail me under Maddiie =)) no wonder, anyways back to editing]

“Thanks Andy” Victor said with a sigh of relief. He felt his stomach turn nervously when she instructed Victor to head back to the north of the pitch. Victor lean his broom to the left and flew over Imogen Day. He recognizes her immediately the girl who had a discussion with Victor just months ago, he tried to remember what they were talking about. It didn’t come to mind, he was too busy trying to concentrate his focus straight ahead. Upon reaching the north pitch, he look towards his left, the two much older students were already positioned. They held more confident and talk about being from the same house. Victor shook his head, come on Vic you can do it. This shouldn't be to hard, come on, don't want to make a fool of yourself in front of the captain there. He was just extremely worried, that he felt a bit of sweat already foaming at the side of his face. If he didn't do this well, he was sure to FAIL!

[Again I apologize >,< if Victor don't make the team T.T I know why no hard feelings =)) and btw Imogen on break just to let you know]

Andy was going to thump the living daylights out of Noah at this rate, she just hoped he stayed out of her way for the rest of the game. Straddling her broom she kicked off and flew to the center of the pitch, the practice balls that they used were nearly ready to be released. Looking up and down the pitch she smiled to herself. There was actually a decent enough bunch here, she'd have some job placing them but that was what this particular drill was for. She wanted to see who was good at what really, the new recruits would later have to smash a few bludgers at the older team players. Something that was sure to either intimidate them or get them riled up completely.

"You all in your places?" she hollered, looking to Zura who was dragging her heels. There was always one of course and even though the youngest girl to try out was just as laid back about getting into position, Andy found she was more willing to give her a bit of leniency compared to her classmate and dorm mate.
"Beaters!" she roared, making sure she had their attention, "are you read?"
awaiting their say she took out her wand and aimed it at the trunk, a quick flick and the chest opened releasing all the balls except for the snitch.
The quaffle came straight up to where she caught it effortlessly but for this particular practice session there were others, and so Kat and Imogen had quaffles coming directly at them as well.
"Just catch and when the others are close to you toss it to out to one of them" she smiled at Imogen.

Watching as the players took off, Andy hurled the quaffle she had to her left and watched to see who would be fast enough to catch it.

there was no problem honestly Madderz, if we were eager to have this pushed i would have pm'd you but Noah and now Imogen are hectic with RL, I pretty much am too as is Katie and Tony and most likely yourself. So seriously there was no rush to edit ;)
but thanks

Noah swayed boredly on his broom as he waited patiently, anxiously for some eventfulness. The stadium around them was silent, the pitch itself was silent, at least for a short while until Andromeda started roaring like a mad dog. "Oh Joy..." Noah smirked, as he looked upon the other team mates that were with him. He was happy to see new faces, but the fact that Andy and him were on bad terms seemed to take away from that happiness. Rocketing off upon Andy's command - Noah found himself shooting to grasp the Quaffle she had thrown left.

With great difficulty, he did so. He didn't have the hands for catching quaffles - seemed like it was a job not so much suited for him. Keeper, sure - he could catch it when he was under pressure like loosing a game, but not whole flying around on the field. Juggling the quaffle for a moment or so, Noah found himself finally with a firm grip on the slippery thing. Juggling it in his hand, he waited for one of his team-mates to come along. He didn't want to take it any where, he just wanted to pass it along and get rid of the thing.

[indent[Damian flew up as normally as he could to the hoops of which he was directed. He sat on the brooms, waiting for whatever was to come. He had to admit, he was a little nervous about getting a bloody bludger hit at him. Damian gripped his broom steadily, as he awaited for Andy's command. He was not very sure about the quaffle thing, as he was going to be trying out to be a seeker. But Damian loved most positions on the team. Chaser just frightened him a little bit. But he would use this to assist him.

I didn't have much to go by so meh.

Kida swung her bat around a few times
"Ready, Bring it!" she called out as she saluted with her bat to signal she was ready to go 'capt'n'
As soon as the Bludgers were released she shot up into the air to follow on of them she wasn't going to go easy at all on the younglings after all if they couldn't handle it now they wouldn't be able to handle the day.

Kida let the Bludgers run around for a bit while she waited for someone to go for the Quaffle.

Rhi hurried down the pitch for the tryouts with her cousin's Nimbus 2001 in tow..The broom had just arrived that morning by owl and all she had to do was hurriedly finish her meal and ran down the Pitch all the same unwrapping the package.."Oh,I hope I could still make it..",she muttered..

Rhi is already in her fourth year when she decided to tryout as Chaser..She had done fairly during their friendly games with her cousins and thus inspired to try out..

She could already hear wind whooshing from the pitch which means that it had already started..Speeding up,she almost collide with Andy, who will be this year's Captain.."Hi,Andy!!Am I a bit late??",she asked all the while gasping for breath..She glanced around and noticed a fair few fellow housemates flying around..Suddenly,she felt nervous flying in front of all these people if ever Any would let her try out..

Andy hovered in the air as another flyer came to the pitch, she smiled at Rhianna and glancing about decided to place her where she was at that moment.
"You've missed the speed trials but I'll get you to do yours later.. duck" Andy leaned low on her broom laughing as a bludger whizzed passed them, sitting back up again she looked at Rhi, "stay here with Kat and Imogen in the center I'll go keep the hoops on this end secure for a bit so I can pass the quaffles back to you three. Just fling them out at any of the players."

With that Andy leaned hard and low on her broom and belted up the pitch to the hoops. Andromeda had always been the fastest flyer on the team and prided her self on it, though she took risks that others weren't willing to take she put this simply down to her werewolf tendencies for danger seeking. As she passed Noah she swerved herself about and pucked the quaffle into the air as he juggled it.
"Hold tight to it Blakewood, juggling it during a game could cause us to lose possession" she glared at him before whizzing passed him to the hoops.

Damien - if you post before Imogen or Kat again, just rp that you caught the quaffle from one of them and pm them that you did so ;)

Trinity sat astride her broom and flew directly to where Andy told her too. She waited with the others on her side before the whistle blew and she began to fly onwards up the pitch. Her time had not been as good as everyone else's but that didn't bother her. She wasn't out on her broom everyday like most people were but if she made the team, then she would change that for sure. Remembering to lean low on her broom to increase the speed as she had seen others do, Trinity continued to fly up the pitch hoping that she would not be hit by any of the bludgers.

Rhi sighed.."Thanks,Andy..",she smiled at the Gryffie captain and ducked all the same..A bludger just past through them and just barely past by her blonde hair..When being told to stay with Kat and Imogen, she nodded.."Right on,Kat..",she mounted her broom and waited for the captain's signal..

She watched as some of her classmates who had come from a hearty meal came down to watch the tryouts..She felt queasy and managed to calm her nerves after a while..

I get it now, short post and speed? Wow Qudditch sure has changed!

Victor speed on the whistle and was tailgating one of his teammate because he was highly nervous. He went a different direction but when the quaffle was thrown in the air he witness Noah catch it and hold the strange ball in his grasp which led to Victor swaying back to Noah unsure what he should be doing. "Hey Noah!" he call out loud enough for him to hear but not for him to get distracted, he still had to remember about the beaters flying everywhere. He almost saw one zoom passed him, almost knocking Victor down but he held on tight pretty well. "Did Andy say I have to get another quaffle or your passing that to me?" being a muggelborn suck big time at the current time. When Victor look down he did see Immy and a few others who were holding quaffle as well. Victor concluded that he must fetch his own but he still was close by to Noah, waiting for a quaffle to be thrown at his direction. It was a difficult test while Victor was trying to avoid the beaters ball. By the looks of it one of the beaters were sure having a blast amining them at every direction.
