((Please do not post in here until Andromeda has had a chance to do so!! Thanks!! Also, try-outs are open to students in their second year and up due to the fact that the first years have not yet had their flying lessons.))

Today was the first day of Kat's official captaincy of the Pride and Merlin knew she had some big shoes to fill. For some crazy reason Bruin had entrusted his team to her, but thankfully he had made it to where Andy would be with her. Grabbing her Scarlet Streak and a clipboard she headed down to the pitch in an old t-shirt and pair of jeans with her Chucks on. When she arrived she immediately went to the the storage shed and got out the quidditch trunk. Kat paced back and forth nervously, praying that she wouldn't screw this up. She looked at her watch, knowing that she still had a good twenty to thirty minutes before everyone was to arrive which was probably a good thing because she felt like she might be sick with all this anxiety.

Andy had slept fitfully which was happening alot lately, all her dreams were now about the evil side of her hurting all those close to her and the only way to stop her seemed to be kissing every male she could find in her dreams. The worse part was, the guys got older and uglier until she had come face to face with a lethifold and a dementor and had to choose between both. She had to kiss one or her friends would be punished. No matter which one she would go near meant her own doom anyway. Each time the dream got simply more and more bizarre, Bruin would be in the background of boys stalking back and forth growling like a bear. Disgusted by her behavior and yet it seemed she was unable to stop herself. Weary she had taken to heading down to the kitchens to find Tin and make herself a hot chocolate. Exhausted she would fall back into bed only to have the same dreams again.

She carried her streak behind her shoulders as she walked out onto the pitch and saw Kat there before her. Andy too was clad only in a t-shirt and jeans that seemed to cling to her form like a second skin. She really should get into the habit of wearing trackies for sessions but didn't think she'd be doing too much flying herself anyhow. Looking out across the pitch memories of Bruin saving her from a nasty fall came back to her, catching her and holding her tight before they hit the ground together. Others of his voice warning of a bludger attack, albeit too late but the concern in his voice had been there. She closed her eyes to rid herself of these memories that felt now worse than any bludger attack and walked over to Kat.

"Hope I'm not late on my first day" she smiled giving the old chest a kick, setting off the bludgers inside that began to rock the chest from side to side, "morning boys"
She called to them as if they could actually hear her.

"So this is it? Down to you and me now girl, we will do it. Won't we Kat? I mean bring our team to victory" her amber eyes looked worried now, this was a huge undertaking. A huge responcibility she seriously hoped she didn't let the team down.

Kiera knew that tryouts were today. She wasn't nervous in the least bit. But she would be the oldest one on the team now. It felt weird knowing that. Kiera tried not to think about it. She still had no idea what she was doing after school but her heart was pulling her back to the muggle world, to the Olympics. Kiera was also thinking about playing Professional Quidditch since James had suggested it to her time after time. It was starting to stick.

Kiera carried her Streak, swung over her shoulder as she entered the Pitch. She was proud of her two best friends for making captain but she couldn't help but wonder why the two younger girls were chosen over her. In all honesty, she was glad for it. Kiera was going to have her hands full with this whole Head Girl thing. Alex was still being his stubborn, yet adorable, self and not wanting the responsibility. She hoped he would come around soon.

Kiera waved at Kat and Andy, with a wide grin on her face as she made her way towards them. "Hey guys!" she said hugging them both. "So whats the game plan?" she asked brightly.

Kida ran down to the quiditch pitch, she was excited for try outs she couldn't wait, she knew some of the new applicants for the other Beater position allthogh she did kinda miss Cyndi, but she knew that Cyndi couldn't come back to play she had graduated.
Kida held her beaters bat and her moon trimmer when she saw Kat andy and Kiera allready on the pitch "Hey" she said excited, last year she was nervous to com down to the pitch, but This time she was excited.

Kida put her broom and Bat down and smiled "Lets do this" she said happily

Noah had a great sleep, one that would allow him to maintain a good performance today, well at least hopefully. Getting out of bed and putting on his clothes, Noah shifted to where his Scarlet Streak sat. He took it into hands and examined it to make sure it was a s clean as a whistle. Before long he rummaged through his stuff in search of his old Beater bat from Hogwarts Scotland. Finally finding it he smiled and placed it into one of his pockets. It looked a little strange really, and it was a tight fit considering how bulgy the damn thing was. Moving on down the Castle's steps, Noah eventually got outside where he jogged along with his Broom down to where the Quidditch Pitch was.

Glancing from a distance, it appeared that there were three or four people down there already. Shaking his head and looking at his watch he knew he couldn't be late, unless he watch was set to the wrong time. Running along down to the Pitch, he was nervous, any one who was trying out in their right mind would be nervous. As he came closer to the Pitch, people were easier to make out. One of the People down there was Kida Frost, some one Noah had already met. Another being Andromeda Fiorelli, Noah had met her on the welcoming of all the new students. The other Girl, Noah wasn't so much as familiar with, but now come to think of it, she appeared to be the Gryffindor Pride Team Captain. Smiling to himself, it became more and more obvious that he was right on time.

Finally reaching the Pitch, Noah smiled at the people that were around, taking his bat from his pocket and rolling it off to the side. He was going to need it soon enough, but until then he'd rather be comfortable. He wasn't sure whether to approach or not, judging by the way that they were all talking to one another, but none the less he did.
"Hey Kida, Andy... And Captain." he grinned unaware of his Captains name. It was a little embarrassing and he probably should have payed more attention to Professor Fletcher cause come to think of it the Captain seemed to look a lot like a Gryffindor Prefect, Unless she had a twin. Grinning at the thought of how stupid he must have looked, he quickly searched through his mind to see if he could put a name to the face. Katalina. That was it, "Sorry Kat, I just realized who you were." he said dully; what a start to the day, he didn't even know his Captains name.

Brushing his hand over his face in embarrassment, Noah's cheeks went slightly red. This could have been one of the most embarrassing moments in his entire schooling years, especially if he didn't live it down. Groaning to himself and kicking the back of his shin, he knew that smiling would make things better. Letting a groan slide awkwardly onto his face, he examined the situation. It had seemed he was the only person new to Try out at New Zealand currently on premises, this would be interesting.

Andy smiled as first Kiera and then Kida made their way down to them.
"Guess we'll just have to wait for everyone else first before revealing our plans for you lot" she smiled at them winking at Kat, hoping as all hell that the strategies they had discussed would go down well today. It seemed the two talked of nothing else lately, which was probably good considering Kat would not be at all pleased with what her best friend was getting up to around the school. Already even Ravenclaw boys were walking past her giving her suggestive winks and saying hello to her, using her name. She merely frowned at them not having a clue as to who any of them were.

Her fellow fifth year came down as well. She recalled his name quick enough, a bit embarrassed now that she had flirted a bit with him on his very first day. The least she could have done was waited a while. He said his hello's to them omitting Kiera, their Head Girl and only referring to Kat as their Captain. Well she wasn't going to embarrass him on his first try out for the team, he was probably nervous or simply hadn't been paying attention at the meeting that day.

Andy looked at the clipboard that Kat held and whistled, before kicking the trunk again. The bludgers squirmed to be released and Andy laughed.
"Any minute boys, any minute. If any of you want to warm up while we're waiting for the others, go ahead but the minute this whistle blows get your asses down here" she held up the whistle that was around her neck and smiled at all of them. The older team mates would know Andy's teasing, playful nature while the newer ones might actually feel intimidated.

Kida smiled when Noah showed up "Hey Noah" she said as she cracked her fingers and stretched her arms to loosen up to save time on having to warm up later she could do it little by little now.

Kida saw the trunk shake a bit the Bludgers were getting wreckless, she smiled "they seem feisty today" she said as she watched he box shake "Can't wait"

Aeon made sure to get up early on the day of Quidditch Tryouts. Well, earlier, that is, since he was usually up early anyway. He threw on a black t-shirt with the hogwarts crest on it and some baggy jeans, before rushing down to have a quick breakfast of his usual stack of pancakes with butter and syrup.

After breakfast, he went back up to the Common Room to fetch his Firebolt which he'd painted flames on. The flames make it go faster. He thought with a grin, before going back down to the First Floor, taking three steps at a time as he went down the staircase.

Upon exiting the actual castle, Aeon hopped on his broom, both his legs on one side, and casually drifted down towards the pitch. Saves having to walk and carry my broom. He said to himself as his broom went along at a leisurely pace, his feet inches from the ground.

Once he arrived at the Pitch, he saw his cousin Kida, Kat, Andy, and Keira, aswell as some other boy he hadn't seen before. Probably a transfer, seeing as he's in Gryffindor, it doesn't seem likely he came from Durmstrang. Probably Beuxbatons or HS. He thought as he hopped off his broom and joined the group. "Hey guys!" He said in greeting, his expression bright and cheerful.

Carlisle had gotten up just abit after Aeon had. He didn't even wake me up. After rolling his eyes to himself he pulled himself out of bed and started a quick get dressed/quick breakfast before getting his Firebolt and running down to the pitch. Carlisle was catching up to Aeon as he entered the quidditch pitch. Of course he hadn't had time to stretch out yet so the last few meters to the others in walk overs.

Pulling himself to an upright position he beamed to the small crowd of people, "Hey everyone, Good luck yeah?" His voice seemed almost musical in his joyful mood. The faint french accent of his just touched his words to make them dance.

After abit of a look around, Carlisle saw who he was looking for, "Aeon!" He laughed and moved over to him. His eyes carefully kept away from Andy. He wasn't going to make this any harder, for her at least. It wasn't her fault. He should have left.. And given the chance they talked longer... He would have probably done it anyway. "So what are you trying out for?" His voice kept fluid and joyful. Today he was trying out for quidditch and get back into flying.. This was a good day.

Kida smiled at Aeon who arrived "Hey Aeon" se said who was soon followed by Carlisle "Hey" she added as she ran her fingers through her hair, she knew that Both Aeon and Noah were trying out for the beater position it was going to be a tough battle, Kida picked up her bat and swung it backwards and fowards before throwing it up and allowing it to spin in the air before she caught it.

Kida watched the box rattle some more and she smirked "you vicious things" she said as she looked at the box tempted to sit on it to get them more annoyed. but she didn't, the more vicious the Bludgers were the more fun it was to play they seemed to be more full on good way to practice.
Kida saw Carlisle avoiding looking over in Andy's diection, Kida grabbed her broom and walked over to Andy before leaning on it "this is going to be interesting" she smiled.

Imogen was more excited about being able to try out for the team than she was about any of her classes. She knew she might not make the team this year. But it was worth a try. She had improved greatly since the last time she'd been at the try outs. Immy had slept well the night before and had gotten dressed for flying in something comfortable. She didn't want to wear something that would make her uncomfortable while flying. Immy smiled to herself as she walked out her dorm with a small skip in her step. She had a smiled plastered on her face and was ready to give it a go. Immy wasn't too sure what position to try out for. She didn't know whether she'd be better as a chaser or seeker. Imogen had never played in a game before so this was quite new to her. She just wanted to give this her all.

Imogen had a breakfast of an apple and orange. Healthy food, for a healthy and fit body. She was now making her way to the pitch. Imogen was a little nervous. She didn't have a broom yet. She'd thought about buying one, but she didn't think that finicially now was the right time. That and Imogen had had barely any time to shop. Still she'd eventually get a broom. As Immy approached the pitch she noticed that there were quite a few others. Immy hadn't been feeling too nervous before but now she did. She knew she wouldn't be as good as these older students but it was worth a try. Immy did think that she was a pretty fair flier. And she loved to fly. She willed her nerves to not get the better of her. Smiling about the fact that she was allowed to try out, Imogen went to the broom cupboard and took a broom. She made her way out onto the pitch. She was the youngest there. Imogen took a deep breath and smiled. She walked over to where the girl Andy, who had help her and another boy learn a spell, early in first year.

"Hey everyone!" Immy said brightly. "Great weather for a fly?" Immy added, looking up at the sky.

Having spent most of the morning in bed, Ruki had made his way from within the castle walls to the grounds out-side. Not really having a plan of action, Ruki began to wander slowly over the grass; taking in the landscape as he walked. During his walk, Ruki began to notice a number of students heading in a similar direction carrying brooms. He wasn't aware of any Quidditch game being played, so figured they must be having a flying lesson; or enjoying their own free time. It hadn't dawned on him the house team was holding their try-outs.

Almost as if being pulled my a mystical force, Ruki found himself closing in on the Quidditch pitch. The sight of the separate house colours, which draped from the stands, caused Ruki to look in awe at the pitch. It seemed to be much more homely than he previous pitch he had often floated above. Walking closer to the pitch, Ruki noticed a group made up of the students he had earlier seen; making their own ways to the pitch. For a moment, Ruki thought he could see Andromeda, or at least a girl resembling Andromeda, kicking a trunk. He hadn't seen anything of her since his early exit from The Gables a few weeks before.

It took Ruki a few seconds to remember that someone had mentioned team try-outs would be taking place soon, and he now realised what the group gathering was for. Knowing he had his own broom back in his and Fenton's dorm-room, Ruki chose to head back up to the castle to retrieve it. Since it was quite a way up to the seventh floor, Ruki broke into a run; since it had already appeared that he was late. As he made his way towards the common room, Ruki wondered if simply forgetting was counted under the no excuses rule.

Reaching the dorm-room, Ruki fumbled under his bed for the broom, and grasping it; made his long journey back down to the Quidditch pitch. At least with the exercise he was having, there wasn't exactly a need to warm up later. Making his way once more towards the pitch, Ruki knew he was practically useless at the game. Walking closer to the group, Ruki flashed a weary glance towards the young girl he still felt he was in-debted too. It wasn't so much an issue if he never spoke to her, but Ruki knew he had to apologise for leaving without giving any notice. He at least owed that much to Essie for her kindness.

So far so good. There was definitely a healthy interest from Gryffindor house in trying out for the team which made Kat happy. The prospective team members looked promising and she looked at Andy and said snarkily, "Those 'Claws aren't getting their grimy feathers on that cup this year!" Kat surveyed up the people who had come out and then looked back to her best friend asking, "So I didn't really have anything as fancy as Br...um, what we did last year planned out. I figured find out what position everyone is interested in and then get everyone up in the air to survey their flying abilities. How does that sound?"

Andy smiled as more approached the pitch for the try-outs. Turning to Kida she laughed looking at the trunk as well.
"Maybe if I stopped kicking the trunk they'd settle down a bit" looking up Andy saw Carlisle heading towards the group and diverted her attention with other things. Smiling at Aeon for one and doing some very light stretches herself. It was nice to see Ruki come down to try out she hadn't had a chance to speak to him since school had started and was dying to know why he had run off while everyone still slept. Essie had been devastated he wouldn't be trying out her homemade bread and cheese. Turning to look at Kida again as she said that it was going to be interesting, her gaze followed hers to Carlisle. Andromeda blushed and could only smile. This was beyond interesting, she had flirted with some of these boys already, how would they now feel about taking commands from her. Kat informed her about what she had planned and that was good enough for her, grateful that she hadn't finished the name Andy knew she was about to say. She didn't want to hear it, not out loud. Not ever. After greeting Imogen and welcoming her to the try-outs Andy blew on her whistle again to call them all to attention.

"Ok gather round. This is how it's going to work out. Kat here has a clip board, write down your name and the position you want to play. I'd advise you to put down two positions as we have a great selection of players and try-outs are going to be really tough this year. When you have that done, I want you to line up and we'll do a speed check first. Fly from the South end hoops to the North end hoops, swerve in around each hoop before coming back down to the South end again. Now the first flight will be risk free but the home journey will be crossed with these bad boys".

Andy kicked the trunk once more and smiled as the bludgers rattled around going ballistic. She laughed before continuing.
"The bludgers will be up there, so if you are trying out for beater take up a bat. If you are trying out for chaser I want ducking and weaving to get away from the bludgers. We will also toss up a quaffle as those trying out for chasers near the end hoops, catch it and toss it to try and score. For those of you trying out for keeper, simply catch the quaffles that come flying at you, there will be more than one. If any one is trying out for the seeker I want a clear flight from south to north on the return journey look out for the little guy and attempt to catch it. There will only be the odd bludger up there, no quaffles for you to worry about. Are we all clear on that? Right I will set the stop watch as soon as the first person shouts they're ready. Any questions?"

Andy waited just in case there was and then with a smile pointed at the clip board.
"Alright, sign up".

[ok rp signing your name to the list, add your positions and do a damned fine try-out for the position you really want taking into account that you may end up with the second position or be an alternate. At the end of your post rp coming back over to Andy and kat, looking at the stop watch and announcing your time. Please be realistic. Nobody will be able to do this in 40 seconds ;) now go have fun ]

Trevor found himself unable to sleep well the night before the quidditch tryouts and was wide awake at five am running laps around the school. At breakfast, he ate until he could eat no more and found himself regretting it as he made his way down to the pitch. The Scotland transfer paused at the entrance to the pitch ans a gave a small smile as he felt his stomach churning, Nerves he realized. He had only tried out for quidditch once before, when he was in second year and he had got the postition on the team as beater and had never needed to try out again. He took a deep breath and made his way towards the crowd determindly. Nerves must require some emotion, perhaps I will be able to feel emotions again soon he thought numbly recalling his lack of emotion since his parents...
He pushed all thoughts aside and grinned as he recognized two girls who had already become two of his favorite girls at Hogwarts even though he barely knew them, both were a lot of fun and easy to get along with. "Kat, Kiera," he said in his english accent, walking towards them with a grin on his face. He nodded slightly towards each of them "always a pleasure" he said with a grin. He placed his Sierra storm and quidditch gear down on the ground and waved at everyone else in the group, remembering he needed to make more of an effort to be friendly he introduced himself "Hey guys, I'm Trevor. I'm new" he added. He turned back to Kiera and laughed "Your feet getting dirty there on the ground?" he asked jokingly, an inside joke only he, Kiera and Kat would get.
Trevor listened carefully as another girl told them what to do then made his way over to Kat and wrote his name down on the clip board and waited for everyone else to finish for the laps to begin.

Trevor Davies - Beater/ Keeper

Will do tryout thing after some else has so I don't make myself look like an idiot by doing something wrong

[[i guess i will be the first to make a fool of myself then :) ]]

Kida smiled as Andy kicked the Bludgers "ey ey ey, they have feelings to" she said as she tapped the box with her beaters bat to irratate them "thats why you annoy them" she said as she tapped the box again "i love these things" she said as she smiled.

Kida listened to Andy as she set out the instructions on what was going to happen Kida grabbed her Bat, "lets do this" she said as she smiled as she signed her name onto the List, Kida was ready to jump out there right away, get a first whack at these angry Bludgers.

Tryout List said:
Trevor Davies: Keeper / beater
Kida Frost - Beater

Even though it was said that there should be two positions that should be writen down on the list, Kida had one strong position, and that was the same position she played last year, and that was beater.

Kida put her hand up and called out "I'm Ready" Kida Grabbed her broom and her bat "i guess i'll be going first... Here bludgy bludgy bludgy, come taste my bat" she said as she smiled mounting her broom and kicked off the ground shooting up into the air Kida flew to the South end of the hoops and when the timer begun she shot forward, Kida had been working on her speed and aero dynamics. Kida leaned in close to her broom to keep the speed up still holding her bat in her right hand. Kida kept her height high and reached the North end in no time at all, Kida Swerved around each of the hoops easily before she made her way back to the other end of the pitch, Bludger time.

Kida Heard the Bludgers be released and she smiled "Come her bludgy" she said as she saw one shoot up infront of her and changes its course to go right at her. Kida Swung her bat Hitting the bludger with great accuracy sending it to the left the field Kida was still flying forward when the second one came and Kida hit it with a back hit of her Bat sending the Bludger right of her giving her time to shoot forward and make her way to the other way of the pitch.
Kida Hugged her broom and saw both Bludgers were making there Return, Clearly they had remembered her tapping the box to annoy them. Kida knew that there would be no way that she could possibley hit them both.

Kida grabbed onto her broom tightly with her left hand and pulled a sloth grip roll allowing the bludgers to pass right over her one after another, Kida pulled herself back up onto her broom and Shot forward making her way to the north hoops swerving around them Kida made her desent and heard another bludger trying to get one last shot at her.
Kida let go of her broom with both hands and Hit it Hard with a loud Thwack sending it back into the Air.

Kida jumped off her broom when she came to the ground, Kida walked over to Andy and Kat and looked at the time "1:40:37, Brilliant" she said as she tucked her bat under the arm to brush her hair out of her face "that was awesome" she said "heart pumping and... just awesome" she said as she smiled again "can i do it again" she said knowing she was getting slightly ahead of herself, but she just couldn't get enough of a challange and flying around like that was just awsome. Kida put her broom down and her bat next to it. Before sitting down catching her breath "ok who's up next because that was awesome" she said.

[[ And I'll be the second xD ]]

Noah watched as Kida made her run. It was an impressive one, most definitely and it gave him some thing to out match. Looking at the clipboard, Noah headed over to it. He had one main position in mind, but then again it was safe to put two, like the Captains had said. Taking up the writing implement, Noah began scribbling away onto the paper that rest on the Clipboard.
Positions said:
Noah Blakewood - Beater / Keeper

Grasping his bat from where he had thrown it off to earlier, Noah examined his broom once more. "Ready" he nodded before mounting and kicking up into the air. Realistically he should make better time then Kida; her broom was made for height and his speed. Letting out a sigh as he came to the south end hoops and readied himself. This was going to be fun, beating the Bludgers away and catching Quaffles. Smirking to himself at the thought, he hoped he had it in him. Noah shot himself off in the direction of the North End Hoops and had his nice and clear run as he maneuvered his way through them.

It was a relaxing fly to the North end, and you could really enjoy it. None the less, the return flight would be just as enjoyable with a touch of excitement. Going on down back in the direction of the South Hoops, Noah began swaying his bat slightly to get a good momentum as he came to see the Bludgers coming closer. One was shooting right at him, whilst the other followed not far behind.
"Come on Puppies." he smirked to himself as he came into range of the fist bludger. Slamming the bat forward, he collided with the bludger with one goal. Hit two birds with one stone.

The Bludger went flying on straight for the bludger in which followed close behind it. The two came into contact, smacking one another two separate ways and a good distance at that. It was almost the end of his run to get back to the South Hoops but one of the Bludgers managed to get itself out of its loop of flying away. Watching as it came Near, Noah decided to barrel roll himself under it. Doing so, he tucked his body into his Broom and came up behind it. Letting both hands loose of his broom, Noah leaned back on his broom with his head almost touching the end of it as he smacked the bludger with his equipped right hand. Leaning back in and grasping the front of his Broom again, Noah was pleased with his Run for Beater.

Now that the bludgers were out of the way, Noah had one more thing to prove; his second position Choice was something else that he was good at. Speeding up to the South Hoops, Noah barrel rolled on through one of the hoops just to have a little bit of a show off, before going back to the front of the Hoop and awaiting a Quaffle. Dropping his bat from his hands, Noah whistled a head's up to those below. The bat fell to the floor safely and Noah readied himself to save some Goals. Getting comfortable in his Seat, Noah watched as a Quaffle flew on for him, before smacking it away with his clenched right hand. Waiting on some more a second Quaffle came shooting in and this time, Noah took his left hand to grasp around it.

The kick back was almost enough to cast it out of his hand but Noah managed to keep a grip on the Quaffle before it passed through the Hoops. Smiling at his attempt, Noah looked down to the ground and examined the Bludgers that he had hit away still a good distance away. Flying on Down to the floor, Noah wasted no time, everything he had done was done perfectly. Though considering he had done two position try-outs his time was none the less a little bit more the Kida's.

He had dismounted his broom as he went over and checked the time "1:50:40" he smiled. It wasn't a half bad time. Smiling to Kida as he walked on towards her, he patted her shoulder and spoke clearly, "That was one hell of a Beater's try-out, Kida."
There was no doubt she had done good, maybe even better then Noah. It was one of the most impressive try-outs he had seen from some one of her age.

Andromeda smiled as the try-outs kicked off as Noah came in for landing she took off her whistle and passed it along with the stop watch to Kat. Last year she had the fastest speed and had every intention of meeting it or beating it this year. She wrote her own name down on the clipboard.

Andromeda Fiorelli: Chaser

"I guess us captains still got to show them how it's done" winking at her Andy pulled her hair back into a tight pony tail before removing her gloves and goggles from her back pocket. Putting the gloves on immediately she then placed the goggles on so that they sat comfortably atop her head. Twirling her broom deftly in her hands she strode off from the group then straddling her broom kicked off flying directly to the South end hoops. She hovered for a moment as she placed her goggles down over her eyes then giving Kat the thumbs up, she leaned low and sped off. The course was clear of course and the wind was in her favor. Like a bullet shooting from a gun, Andromeda powered her way headlong down the pitch. Her speed since being a chaser had improved and she could feel the difference even now as the confidence of being one of the team captains boosted her along. When she reached the hoops she weaved expertly in and out of them before sweeping her way the pitch once again.

She loved the feel of the Scarlet Streak as she rocketed up the pitch. The bludgers began their pursuit of her and Andy barrel rolled to side swipe them, it appeared effortless but it had taken Andy a long time to get as good as she was. Knowing that she could never go pro aggravated her greatly. Another bludger zoomed in, Andy pulled up fast on her broom rising steadily to dodge it. The closer she got to the hoops she noticed the quaffle that was heading up to her, she swerved to the left and holding on with one hand she hung slightly off her broom to palm catch it. These were easy catches and nothing nearly as volatile as the ones that the chasers had to deal with in a real game. Andromeda pulled it close and throwing herself forward so that broom an all spinned in what appeared to be a somersault and managed to toss the quaffle in to the center hoop with little difficulty. She swung around after the hoops and just managed to duck past a bludger as she headed down to the ground. Jumping off her broom she pushed the goggles up on top of her head again. Smiling as she ran over to check the stop watch.

"1:24:35 not bad, just slightly under my record" she laughed exhilarated from the course.
"Think we'll have to get one of those books I got for .... ehm.. it's best we try and make this more difficult next year. It seems awfully easy up there" she told Kat.

((Sorry so crappy. I have a bugger of a headache >_< ))

Kat beamed as she watched the potentials get up in the air and show what they were made of. This year was definitely going to be awesome and she really thought they had a decent shot at winning. As she watched Andy finish off her bit, Kat wrote down her own name on the list and prepared to show off her stuff as well.

As Andy touched down Kat nodded in agreeance with her. They were definitely going to have to make try-outs a bit harder than they currently were. Her face fell feeling like she was letting down her big brother with the crappy set up, but she vowed that from here on out she'd do much better.

Mounting her broom she shot off into the air. Flying always had been and always would be exhilarating for Kat...no better feeling in the world. With the quaffle tucked neatly under her right arm she sped forward. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a bludger speeding towards her. Kat ducked, but heard it breeze just over top of her head. Those damned things have it out for me I swear they do she thought with a smirk as she leaned ahead, pushing harder and faster towards the hoops. Having to dodge two more bludgers, one just barely missing her left shoulder, Kat finally got close enough to make a decent shot and the quaffle soared straight through the far right hoop. Doing a goofy little dance mid-air she laughed and landed back next to Andy. "Wasn't my best performance, but got the damned thing through the hoop. We should always play without a keeper," she joked and then looked at the watch. "1:26:23 isn't too shabby. Probably should have done a bit more practice while I had the pitch to myself over the holidays, but I'll take it for now!"

Carlisle watched as people started to sign there names and take a crack for their positions. None of them seem half bad He mused to himself. Right, well... This was where he got back to his passion. He had been flying basically ever since birth.. It had been his escape from the world. The skies held no boundaries and there you were truly free.

A smile touched his lips as he moved forward to the sign up list. He wrote his name and position he would like to play in an elegant script.

And with that, he spun the firebolt around for a moment before kicking off the ground and straddling it properly while doing so. Off he shot, body low against the broom beneath him. This is what he loved. In no time at all Carlisle made it to the whoops through which he swerved and curled in near fluid movements around. Letting a hand move out just enough to let his fingers brush the last hoop before rocketing down along to the opposite hoops.

This had all been to easy.. and never matched a full blown game. The only thing he could see that was going to make this slightly realistic.. was the quaffle that had just been thrown up, which of course he had caught with little effort before tucking it under his arm, And the bludger that was now steaming full speed at him. He smiled slightly before kicking up his speed yet another noticed as the bludger was coming for him head on. Now Andy's barrel roll was rather wonderful.. But it didn't quite suit Carlisle. Instead he moved his feet so he was kinda crouching. He pushed his feet down just as the bludger was about to hit him and the broom basically went upside down, the handle slide across the underside of the bludger before Carlisle spun himself, and the broom in an angled tight loop to bring them right side up and back on course. All this seemed to happen in a second of non top movement.

He sped along the rest of the way to the hoops before turning into an almost skidding move and pelting the quaffle through the middle hoop side on while sliding through the air. With that completed, he flew back down to the ground with his last spurt of streaking speed. A few feet from the ground and Carlisle did his last trick that had taking him years, and many broken bones, to perfect. He kicked his feet up while hands still held the broom and for a moment it look like he might have been doing a handstand, but he kept going so that his feet hit the ground and the broom swung elegantly across his should all in one movement. He felt the slightest pain shoot from his ankle as his foot hit the ground, But nothing too bad.

Looking up to the watch Carlisle said with a Beaming smile, "1:24:44" Just behind Andy.. Well.. There was plenty of time to catch up with her if he got the team he told himself. Anyway... That was still a damn good time and you actually landed the landing trick. Overall.. He was rather pleased with his performance.

Kiera grinned as Trevor came up to her. She laughed as he made a joke about her feet getting dirty. She put on her most innocent face. "Yes actually. They are getting quite dirty but I couldn't find any of my worshippers to help me out. Would you like to do the honors?" she asked in her thick southern accent. She batted her eyelashes jokingly.

As Andy and Kat explained the tryouts, Kiera nodded her head. It would be easy enough for her. She intended to have fun while doing what they asked. After all, her flying had been described once as acrobatic, a term Kiera rather liked. She watched a few people go ahead of her before standing up. "Here goes nothing." she said with a wink to her roomies as she signed her name on the sheet.

Kiera grabbed her broom off the ground and launched herself into the air. Andromeda had said that the journey to the hoops would be the easy part. Kiera pushed her broom to its highest speed towards the hoops on the other side of the field. As she narrowed in on them, Kiera stood up on her broom as if it was nothing. The people on the ground who were new to her would probably think she was insane. Kiera just wanted to have fun. These were her last tryouts and she wanted to make them memorable.

As Kiera came up on the goals, she jumped up into the air. It would appear to an outsider that Kiera had no clue what she was doing as she leaped into the air. However, at the last moment, she curled herself into a ball. Kiera easily flipped over the top of the hoop as her broom went through it. Kiera landed perfectly on the other side. A wide grin broke across her face as was typical when she flew.

Kiera chose to remain standing as she flew back to the other side of the pitch. It would cost her a bit of time on her score but it would be way more interesting. She held her balance perfectly from years of gymnastics. Kiera kept her eyes peeled for any bludgers or quaffles.

Kiera had just turned her head when she spotted a bludger coming at her from one direction and a Quaffle coming her other way. Sh1t! she thought in her head. Quickly, Kiera did a standing full on her broom. The bludger passed right underneath her, she snagged the Quaffle out of the air when she was upside down. It was exactly like she had done with Ginny one day. They had been on the pitch for hours until she perfected the move.

Kiera dropped the Quaffle to the ground as she prepared herself for the next thing to come at her. She spotted a bludger only a few feet away, coming straight at her, and fast too. Kiera stepped off her broom backwards. She caught the broom, dangling by her hands as she would on her uneven bars. The bludger passed safely over her. Kiera swung herself back up onto the broom.

Kiera caught three more Quaffles swiftly and avoided two more Bludgers without harm. She grinned as she neared the ground. Kiera hopped off her broom from her standing position. She made her way to Andy and Kat. "How did I do?" she asked, flashing them a smile. Kiera checked her time. "1:27:12...not bad." she said, pleased with her time. She had given up a few seconds in order to have fun. She figured it wouldn't really hurt her chance of making the team.

Kiera made her way back to Trevor. She flashed him a big grin. "What did you think?" she asked, wanting his opinion. He hadn't ever seen her fly before.

((Sorry for lame post. :( ))

Aeon watched as, one by one, the Gryffindors flew up and completed their courses. He felt both nervous and excited at the same time, but unsure if he'd be able to make the team. Being an alternate wasn't really fun, so he was going to make sure to push himself to get what he wanted.

After Kiera had her turn, Aeon decided to go instead of letting any more people get ahead of him. He moved up to sign his name and position on the sheet when he realized something. Taylor hadn't shown up yet. Oh well He thought, quickly scratching his name down and getting ready to fly.

Aeon quickly went up into the air and flew down to the south end, getting ready for the whistle to blow. Once it had, he shot forward, down a long the pitch, and already a bludger was heading for him. With a sigh, he waited until it drew closer, before quickly spinning his broom out of the way. The bludger sailed harmlessly past him and he straightened himself up again before flying forward. The bludger made a return, followed by another. Aeon flew down towards the ground, the bludgers still in pursuit. He was near the ground now, and the bludgers were getting closer and closer, until Aeon finally sent his broom up, causing one bludger to smash into the ground, followed by the next. He grinned and waved at the others, before shooting back up again.

Once Aeon reached the end hoops, the quaffle was thrown up. Aeon caught it with ease and tucked it under his right arm, then flew closer to the hoops so he could make a shot. He moved the quaffle from his right arm to his left and threw it as he passed the Middle Hoop, watching as it went in, though a little towards the right side. He turned on his broom and flew back towards the other side of the pitch, only to see a golden ball fly speedily past his right ear. The snitch. He thought to himself, turning his broom around and chasing after it.

The golden snitch flitted through the gracefully, and Aeon waved his arm wildly to try and catch it, but it always stayed just out of reach. "Okay. Wildly grabbing = fail." He muttered, speeding up on his Firebolt. The snitch was closer now, and he went to grab it, but the snitch moved away as his finger brushed against it. Aeon flew back after it and made another grab, this time, his fingers closed around the golden metal. With a smile, he flew back down towards the ground and dismounted his broom before checking the time. "1:4:cry:32. Damn" He muttered, walking back over to Carlisle.

Andy smiled as each person began to take their turn, Kat and herself had been right after all. It was going to be really tough to call the team this year. She wrote each time against the names, well impressed with the level and skill of each house mate.

Andy showed Kat the times and whistled low.
"Real good huh, even big change on last year" she muttered to her before blowing her whistle again, "I love doing that" she said with a grin.

"Right who's up next?"

Having watched most of the group take to the skies and impress with their level of skill and over-all times, Ruki rocked his Sienna Storm back and forth; feeling slightly under-confident. As the sound of a whistle blew through his ears, Ruki turned his faded gaze towards Andromeda. Catching her question, Ruki gripped his broom tightly; and gulped. He had a lot of work to do to match the previous flyers. "I could take my turn.". Ruki gave the girl a weak smile.

Lifting his broom, Ruki stepped towards the clip-board; and taking a-hold of the writing implement, scrawled his name. 'Rukevra Vanderzuk: Seeker / Chaser'. Ruki felt his time at Durmstrang gave him enough experience of aimlessly floating around the Quidditch pitch, that he would be better off looking for a golden object, than trying to out-fly everyone else who had seemingly practised at every opportunity they had found. Looking up, Ruki caught sight of Katalina. "Miss Vanderhol.". Ruki smiled towards her, before positioning his broom in front of him at a slight angle. Wrapping his right leg around the lower section, Ruki pushed off with his left. Tucking his trailing leg close to the broom, Ruki climbed towards the South side of the Quidditch pitch. After reaching the hoops, Ruki gave a wave to the girls below; indicating he was ready.

Leaning forward, Ruki made his way towards the North end; and began to feel care free. All of his worries about Hogwarts; about Durmstrang; about his parents; about his future, instantly drifted away; carried along with the wind that rushed over Ruki's stream-lined figure. The lack of practice seemed less visible, as Ruki closed in on the opposing hoops. Remembering what Andromeda had asked him to do, Ruki dipped the tip of his broom; and leaned towards the left hoop. Travelling from the right side of the pitch; at a thirty degree angle, Ruki past between the centre hoop and the left hoop. Pulling his broom sharply left, Ruki used his left leg to push the tail right; causing him and the broom to turn gracefully in a short distance. Rounding the left hoop, Ruki flew back through the same way from the left side of the pitch, and within a fraction of a second; cut between the centre hoop and the right hoop. Turning gracefully once more, Ruki rounded the right hoop; and flew between the two once again, from behind the goals. Ruki began to feel exhilarated.

Tucking himself close to his broom, Ruki prepared for the return to the North hoops. Choosing to stay level with the left hoop, Ruki began to feel his need for fun replenish. There wasn't a moment to smile however, as a Bludger appeared from Ruki's front right; and headed straight toward him. Tipping forward slightly, Ruki directed himself towards the ball. As the gap closed between them, Ruki barrel rolled to the left; and listened as the Bludger whistled across the under-side of his broom. Completing the roll, Ruki powered on to the Northern hoops. Seconds later, Ruki took a cautious glance behind; only to see a second Bludger tracking his flight. Squashing himself into the broom, Ruki dipped ever so slightly; before pulling into a climb, all the while, closing the distance to the hoops.

Soaring through the ring of the centre hoop, Ruki climbed higher as he pulled sharply on the tip of his broom. The momentum he had gained allowed Ruki to enter into a giant loop. As he travelled up-side down over the top of the hoops, Ruki caught sight of the Bludger still following him. Nearing the end of his loop, Ruki thrust his left shoulder to the right; and entered into a downwards corkscrew, powering towards the ground. Not wishing to create impact, Ruki pulled hard against the Sienna Storm and levelled himself out several feet above the grass; Bludger still in tow. Pulling sharply to the right, Ruki knew he had to lose the ball. As he began his climb, Ruki caught a glint towards the left stand. "Snitch!". Ruki yelled at the small golden ball. Twisting his broom gracefully left once more, Ruki thundered towards the Snitch.

Within the three seconds it had taken Ruki to reach the West stands, the Snitch had took flight across the pitch; and flitted into the East stands. Pulling his broom sharply around to the right, Ruki heard a huge thud. The trailing Bludger had collided with the stands. Brushing off his relief, Ruki headed a course for the Snitch. Crossing the Quidditch pitch, Ruki soared his way through the East stand from the North end; intent on capturing the golden ball. Closing in on the winged object, Ruki groaned as it took flight once more; this time hovering close to the Slytherin tower. Ruki tightened his legs around his broom as he pulled up-wards. Closing the gap between him and the tower, Ruki made a grab for the golden ball. It made no attempt to move. Closing his fingers around the Snitch, Ruki barrel rolled to the right; avoiding a collision with the Slytherin tower.

Sitting up on his broom, Ruki looked out across the pitch. Quidditch had just become a different game. Drifting back towards the group, Ruki dis-mounted the fiery oak; and breathed. He hadn't had as much fun on a broom since he learnt how to use it. Walking towards the clip-board, Ruki eyed Katalina; silently thanking her for mentioning try-outs. Glancing at the stop-watch, Ruki groaned slightly. He had taken twice as long as everyone else. Twisting the Snitch in his hand, Ruki muttered his time. "Three minutes; seventeen seconds.". Holding out the golden ball, Ruki smiled wearily once more towards Andromeda. Knowing how much she wanted to win the cup, Ruki felt a little deflated. Choosing not to say anything, Ruki made his way to a patch of ground and sat down. Adrenaline still coursing through his veins.

Hilary was excited to try out for Quidditch, she hadn't really played last year because of sickness and crazy busy-ness. She picked up her broom and then with a smile called "I'll go next." She took the list from her friend and wrote down her name and position. She was unsure what to put as her second position so she just left it blank.
Hilary Grace: Seeker/....

Hilary passed the list back to the new captain and slid her goggles down over her eyes. "Alright, let's see how this goes" she said as she jumped onto her broom. Flying up onto the pitch she had fallen in love with Hilary couldn't help but remember that this would be her last tryout of her career at HNZ. Feeling the wind fly through her hair she bolted across the course weaving only slightly to miss a bludger flying at her from the left. She saw the quaffles coming but knew she had no ability at catching anything bigger than an orange.... and even that was pushing it. She dodged them too, just like she would during a game, getting out of the way as quickly as possible so that those with talent could do their job. She reached the end hoops swinging around with ease and heading back for the starting line. Knowing that this was now her moment she slowed up just a little bit to hunt down the snitch. She saw that the little ball was hovering, just above where the quaffles were still being chucked up. Not removing her eye from it even once, she shot forward regaining her top speed. She swerved to miss being hit by a quaffle as she grabbed the snitch firmly in her right hand.
Leaning forward on her broom, Hilary dove back down towards the ground where the rest of the team was standing.

Hilary rolled off her broom onto the ground as that was the easiest way to stop her speed. Still clutching the snitch in her hand she stood up and walked over to where the stop watch was and looked at her time: 2:13.19. Catching the snitch had slowed had put her almost a minute behind those trying out for chaser, but she was still happy with her time. Smiling she pushed her goggles up onto her head and waited. She had done her best and now it was up to the captains to pick the best team for the job.
