Golden Rose

Valentines Day was never something Kauri had paid much attention to before, nobody at his muggle school ever really acknowledged it, but the second he had seen the signup sheet for rose deliveries he had been on board. What could be better than going around the school, spreading love and friendship and good feelings? His first delivery was from an older girl he recognised as one of the organisers of the event, so he knew this was one to take seriously. As soon as he got downstairs for breakfast Kauri made a beeline for the Hufflepuff table, heading straight over to the older girl. "Clementine?" He asked happily. "I've got a delivery for you!"

Clementine was just about to get started with her own deliveries and was happy to see everyone doing theirs when she saw someone approach her. She recognized him as one of the people that had signed up and smiled at him. "Oh hi!" she greeted him. "Is it a rose?" she asked hopefully with a small giggle, knowing it just had to be.

Kauri beamed, happy to find the older girl in high spirits. "It is!" He said happily, rummaging around his basket for the right one. "Here!" At last he produced the bright yellow rose, handing it over happily. "I hope it's a nice one! Thanks for letting me do these deliveries!"

Clementine took the rose from him happily and twirled it around in her fingers. She looked up at him when he thanked her and shook her head. "No thank you for helping out!" she said appreciatively. She took the card and opened it excitedly but frowned slightly when she read it. She couldn't recall knowing anyone by the name of Thaddeus. "Thank you," she said politely to the boy, still wondering who could have sent this rose.

Kauri beamed, pleased to see the happiness on the girl's face as she got her rose. This was exactly why he had signed up for this, to make people happy, and it felt great. "You're welcome!" He said happily. "Have an awesome day!" Delivery completed, Kauri set off to his next destination, grinning broadly.
