Lillith had a fun day so far. She'd never been to Samoa but she felt like she could live here forever. She had overpacked obviously, bringing enough clothes for a week rather than a weekend and she had also brought a big shopping bag, full of cakes and sweets from her bakery. It wasn't exactly for her, in fact, it was for Tilly's family. Her mother had insisted that she brought some and Lillith willingly complied. Maybe they'd visit their bakery and Lillith would be able to hang out with Tilly in her home as well. She was sure they'd find something fun to do in Waiheke.

The girls walked along the beach, a little tired from swimming but not tired enough to go back to Tilly's house and rest. They walked for a while until Lillith saw something in the distance. Lillith gasped in awe. "Tilly! What's that!?" She asked excitedly. In an area near the rocks, a lot of water was spraying upwards, maybe reaching the height of a one-story house. Lillith's walking turned into a jog as they approached the water that was sprouting upwards. "It's like a whale!" Lillith giggled as she watched the water go up and then spray over them.

@Tilly Drage

Tilly was happy she’d invited Lillith for the weekend, and that her parents had been agreeable to it. She had been afraid they would ground her all winter after finding out that she had fought another student and landed herself in detention. Instead, she’d faced a long conversation and her dad’s disappointment, which was punishment enough.

Tilly was positively stuffed with the sweets and baked goods from Lillith’s family. Her full stomach had made her more sluggish than usual while she was swimming. That said, she felt great, and barely felt the tiredness in her muscles as she chased after Lillith. The warm sand was heaven to her feet. “Kind of,” she hollered back, “it’s called a blowhole!”

Lillith put her hand above the hole and watched as the water hit her hand. She looked around and there were other people there too. Lillith watched as they shouted things into the water. "Look Tilly! They're shouting at the water!" Lillith exclaimed and looked at the blowhole that was in front of her. She shouted into it. "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" And soon, water burst out of it and hit her in the face. "Blegh!" The seawater got into her mouth and she started trying to spit it out.

Tilly wasn’t sure why people were screaming into blowholes, but who was she to judge? She stood back and watched as Lillith got pelted in the face. Laughing deep in her belly, she stepped forward. As the water receded, she leaned towards the rock face and hollered, “Bollocks to second year!” She had to admit, it felt good.
