Rita Smile waited outside of Hufflepuff to see if she could spot the boy who had helped her find her wand come out. She had saw that he wore Hufflepuff robes, so here she was. Rita was still angry with Kengi for being so controlling and dragging her to the club fair, when she had no interest in any of them, unless there was someone she knew. The first year did not know anyone. She rarely talked as is. It would be a great feat for her to make a friend. Then why am I here? The boy is much older than me. He doesn't want to be my friend. What could we possibly have in common? Rita still found herself watching as people walked in and out of Hufflepuff. The girl wrung her hands together nervously before moving to turn around and go to the Great Hall. It was lunchtime anyways.

It was still so early in the semester, and Elliot was doing his level best not to let himself panic too hard about OWLs. But that hadn't stopped him from wanting to stop by his dorm before lunch to grab his notes. Lunch was a great time to get a little extra reading in, as long as he kept the parchment away from any food splatter. Exiting the common room, Elliot paused when he spotted a young Ravenclaw loitering in the hallway, recognizing her just as she turned to leave."Oh, hey, you're Kengi's little sister, right?" He said, smiling at the girl before glancing around the corridor, wondering if she was looking for her brother. "I can go get him if you need him?" He offered, trying to remember if he'd seen Kengi around.

Rita turned around with a frustrated look on her face. Her name had been called at the Sorting Ceremony. It was inexcusable for him not to know it, especially since he had seen her at Ollivander's as well. She was sure Kengi had said her name. "Rita," she said softly as she looked at her shoes and held her arms behind her back nervously. The first year shook her head when he asked if he should get Kengi. Umm, what now? Name, name. Ask for his name! "Uh, what's your name?" she asked, though her voice was barely a whisper. She felt like her throat was dry with sand as she squeezed her hands together even tighter.

Elliot did a double-take when Kengi's little sister - Rita- said her name, stilling half looking for Kengi for her. "Oh right, Rita. I'm Elliot," He said with a small smile, hesitating while he tried to decide if it would be weird to shake her hand. They'd technically already met so he decided against it, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Elliot knew he'd have to get used to talking and helping more students, especially younger ones around the school now that he was a prefect, but he still wasn't very good at talking to them even after spending the break working at Ollivander's. "Did you need help with anything then?" He asked her instead, wondering now if he should just let her go on about her day.

Rita did not make a move. Elliot. Not too boring. The first year gulped. Biting her lip, she shook her head and walked away to the stairs, so she could go to the Great Hall. However, her stomach was churning, so she wasn't sure if she would actually be able to eat anything. All she wished was that Kengi did not show up to agitate her. Rita was sure she would cry then.

Elliot watched, puzzled, as Rita just shook her head before turning around to walk away. "Oh, okay. Bye then?" He called after her. He wondered if he'd said anything wrong, but maybe he really had just been bothering her. The prefect thing was still new and Elliot really didn't know when he should be trying to help and when he should just leave well enough along. Still a bit confused by the interaction, Elliot tried to remember what he'd been doing, remembering the notes in his hands. If he hurried, he could still squeeze in some reading and manage to eat his lunch before his next class.
