Victoire had to admit that while she liked Alex a lot, she had been holding out for Jean to ask her to the Yuleball, but when that hadn't happened and the closer it came to the date of the ball the more she felt like perhaps it just wasn't going to happen so she had been a little pleased when Alex had asked her to the ball, she had strange feelings for him, she had almost actively tried to move her feelings for Jean to him in the hope that she could fix her friendship with Jean, and while it had been fixed, her feelings for the other gryffindor had grown, how she felt towards Alex with all of this going on was a little bit more tricky. She didn't know, she had all of these feelings, all of these emotions and she didn't know what to do with any of them, they were just this big mystery to her and she was barely able to figure out what to do with any of it.

For this Yuleball, Victoire had picked out a pale pink dress, formal and polite but still form fitting and with a good length of skirt, nothing too short but neither was it that long. Overall, after putting her hair up, Victoire had thought she actually looked really nice and with a confident smile she had headed out of the dorm and down to the Great Hall, where she knew Alex would be waiting. She was looking forward to spending this time with Alex, she got along really well with him, there were no complexities with him, things were simple, and although she might not have previously enjoyed that she was looking to just have fun. The teen walked into the hall and spotted Alex with ease, "Roi Soleil!" she greeted warmly as she walked over to him and then gave him a large hug upon greeting him, she could forget all the rest of it, and just have fun during this night with Alex and hopefully they'd have a good time, hopefully he would have a good time.

Alexander Carter had never dreamed that he would have a date to the Yule Ball ever while he was at this school, and he definitely hadn't thought it would happen so soon during his first year at the school. But he had met Victoire Fontaine and everything had changed -- for the better of course. She was his favourite person to be around and he had taken a stab in the dark and had asked her to accompany him to the Yule Ball this evening and he knew that he wouldn't regret it. It would be super fun! Her company was enough to make the night fantastic, and he was happy that she had said yes to him. Maybe she felt the same way about him as he felt about her? That would just be the best! Alex smiled as he stood in the Great Hall and awaited the entrance of what he knew would be the most beautiful girl here this evening.

Alex wasn't wearing anything too extravagant, just a plain black suit with a purple shirt underneath. He didn't want to get too dressed up, and he wouldn't go out of his way to look "fantastic" but he was happy with how he was right now and he hoped that Victoire would be as well. He was dressed up, after all, he just hadn't gone all out like he thought others would. Alex turned when he heard the familiar nickname that only Victoire called him, and with a smile on his face he returned her hug and knew that he was going to have a good night with his friend. Gesturing inside, and taking her hand, he smiled at her. "Shall we dance?" Alex asked without missing a beat. There wasn't anything that he was worried about tonight, he knew Victoire and he didn't think that she would object to him taking the lead.

Victoire smiled into the hug with a little grin on her face, things with Alex were good and she was definitely pleased she wouldn't be spending this night alone. Her mind didn't even think to Jean as she glanced him over, "Look at you all dapper," she told him with a bright smile, knowing that this was going to be good fun, and actually believing that he looked fairly handsome, she brushed down on her own skirt but upon his offer she grinned a little more shyly as she brushed the loose fringe behind her ear and then nodded to what to he was suggesting, she did indeed just want to dance and Victoire was glad that he was suggesting that they go dance straight away which was what she wanted to do, and knew it would keep her mind off other things and help them just have a great time at this Yuleball.

Victoire followed Alex out to the dance floor and like she'd done with Jean during the Halloween feast she took his hands in hers and just began dancing, letting the music flow and give an easy rhythm to their dancing which was exactly what this evening was for, a little bit of easy dancing, easy listening and fun. She leaned into Alex slightly so that they could dance with more ease and she was beginning to really enjoy it more when they were just able to relax and dance a few hours away, she would be going back to her family over the holiday which she was looking forward to, though she imagined it would be a little strange what with her brother. However the teen was just going to enjoy this night, and was sure to be on the lookout for her brother in this room, just to see if he was doing okay, "How did you do the exams?" She asked Alex or well blurted out loudly when she remembered about them, not having any had made her forget that others would and considering she'd been helping Alex out Victoire had a real interest in how it was doing.

Alex just smiled at Victoire as she mentioned that he looked rather dapper, he didn't understand what the word meant but he assumed that it meant that he looked nice. He appreciated that, he thought that she looked absolutely amazing. She was always so beautiful, and he was the luckiest man here because she was here with him and not any of the other people out there. Even if it was only as friends or whatever it was that she wanted, he was happy that she had chosen to be here with him, he wondered if others had asked her or if she had been holding out for somebody else. It was always a possibility. Anything was a possibility, really. He just smiled and danced with her, watching the time flow away as she led him or he led her, he wasn't really sure he just knew that this is exactly where he was comfortable being.

Alex rolled his eyes when she asked him about exams, well, blurted it out at him. It was kind of funny how she mentioned it so casually yet so crazily at the same time. He gave her a smile. He had actually done well, surprisingly, he hadn't expected to do so well but he had managed to pull through. "I did pretty well actually, mostly O's in my classes! All because of your fantastic teaching!" He said with a smile. He was happy that she had been willing to help him so much, and he had really improved because of her. Alex leaned into her as they danced together, he was having a lot of fun with her tonight.

As Victoire danced with Alex she kept her eyes open and kept herself focused on him, as he stood in front of her and was the focus of her attention, there was a smile on her face and she was beginning to really enjoy herself with him, since they were here together. Victoire had been hoping that Jean would've asked her but she knew other things got in the way of it, and really she liked Alex a lot as friends and was happy to spend the time with him rather than alone or with some unknown person. It was a good time they'd have and Victoire could only just smile at him, it had been nice to meet him, and spend all that time helping him, which she had been more than happy to do, since helping out a friend like Alex was the least she could do, and he was a pretty good student too.

She wasn't even surprised when he said that he had done so well in the exams, she had expected no less from him, and just when he told her and leaned in responded by wrapping her arms around him in a long hug, smiling brightly, "Oh, I'm so proud of you," she told him happily as she broke off the hug and smiled at him. She really was so proud of him and everything that he had achieved in his small time at this school, it was just so perfect and she was just so happy, it helped this evening feel even more special, "You deserve it, you really deserve it," she told him honestly a smile clear on her face, she was so happy for them, and this would only improve as he got on in the school and she was sure after a few more study sessions he would be completely fine.
