Flashback Time

Thank goodness Toni thought as Sam agreed to go over by the lake. Though his reply was rather fast pace. Was the silence that was between them moments before engulfing him as well? Did he feel it still hovering around? "Cool" Toni said simply when he agreed wanting to hit herself in the head for such a simple minded and almost out of character comment but she of course didn't.

She watched Sam walk towards the lake and dip his feet in. Toni took a deep breath before walking over calmly with her normal air about her, or at least as close to normal as she could get. Sitting next to Sam, she took off her shoes and socks, making sure to glance at the water before she dare stick her feet in. No signs of mermaids.

Dipping her feet in she let out a small laugh as the cold water hit her legs. "Wow this is kind of cold" She managed to say though she continued to dip her feet in until about her calfs were in the water. Kicking them light in the water, she thought about what to say. God why is this so hard! She thought looking over at Sam for a moment before looking out over the lake the stillness of the water almost as bad as the silence that was hanging around.

Sam tried to keep his body language as normal as possible so far he was succeeding. Sam smiled at what Toni said about the water being kind of cold. He didn't nod or say anything. He moved his feet around under the water. Once again- Silence. "So..um.." He said trying to think of something to say and fast! "...I'm guessing this is a big step for you." he said with a teasing but light-hearted tone. "Being in the water and all." he laughed, though this one wasn't a forced one. Lame, lame, lame.

He let his eyes sweep over Toni's face then forced them back on the calm lake. His feet continued to move around freely in the water until they hit something. Toni's foot. "Oh..uh...I'm sorry." he said, mortified. He bit his lip again out of embarrassment. He kept his feet tucked to themselves and decided not to move them around any more. He looked down at his lap and then back up at Toni and started to laugh. He didn't know why. But he did. Was it jst out of embarrassment, or how he was feeling? How today, he looked at Toni a different way.

Toni continued to lightly kick her feet in the water her eyes glancing from the water on 'mermaid watch' to Sam to just the water in general as a way to be able to look away and not stare at Sam constantly. In her mind all she could think was What is going on wiht me with us? This was just so odd in her mind. They were best mates, her and Sam. They had always been best mates even before they started dating so long a go, at least it felt like awhile a go.

"Oh yes a huge step" Toni said laughing a slight bit as if she hoped their laughter would brighten the mood. It seemed to be working slightly until Sam and Toni's feet bumped gently into each other. "Oh sorry my fault" Toni said as she stopped moving her feet feeling her cheeks turn the lightest shade of pink. Was she blushing? Why on earth would something as simple as bumping feet make her blush. I am not right today she thought leaning her head forward so her blonde hair would fall over her face hopefully covering up her cheeks before Sam could see the colour that had appeared on them.

Though as Sam began to laugh, Toni turned to look at him wondering what on earth he was laughing about. It wasn't long unitl Toni let out a smile for Sam's laughter seemed almost catchy. What she was laughing at she wasn't sure. What he was laughing at she wasn't sure? But that beside they were both laughing. Looking away from Sam and out towards the lake, Toni's laughter died down and a simple smile once more replaced it.

"This is nice" She said glancing over at Sam for a moment. "I mean I did really miss hanging out with you" She said knowing she had said this before, but it was the truth and something to say when her other words failed. Say something else She thought not wanting the lightened mood to crash as fast as it had become. "We'll have to hang out more this year. Well not just us. I mean the whole group unless you just want " She stopped. Way to go Toni she thought angerly to herself. "Well you get the point" Toni said trying to laugh but unable to actually look at Sam after her huge word mess up and babble.

"No. It was mine." Sam said politely to Toni as she said it was her fault. He looked away from Toni, his face showed no emotion. In his head was a different matter, thoughts were rushing around all of them included Toni. He couldn't focus on one single thought for more than a couple seconds. He just hoped that tommorow or the next time he saw Toni he wouldn't be like this. This was just something so stupid and he wasn't thinking straight is all. It hopefully would pass.

As Sam laughed Toni laughed, what were they both laughing out? He stopped himself from laughing further and just kept his mouth closed but a wide smile crept onto his face. He looked over at Toni still smiling, now at least he was smiling at her. He had a reason to smile, not like the laughing fit he just had. She was smiling too. He quickly looked away just in case she saw him looking at her. He kept his eyes down onto the lake where he could see his still feet.

He nodded slowly and turned his head to look at her. "It is nice." She missed hanging out with me? Sam thought excitedly. "I missed you too.." He said not removing his eyes from her eyes. His voice was honest and soft. The whole place was silent and he didn't want to speak too loudly and ruin the atomosphere about them.

Sam was about to nod and agree along when she said that they should all hang out but she added another part which caught him off guard. " ..Unless you just want " Sam was silent and noted that Toni was aswell. He forced a smile to comfort her, he hoped it didn't look too forced. "Emm...yeah.." he said slowly. As much as he loved to hang out with Toni on her own he wasn't sure about what would happen between them, especially if they continued the way they were acting now. Did he want that? He couldn't answer the question.

Toni felt like basically a complete idiot. Why was it at times when she really did need her words to work properly that they seemed to have a mishap. I didn't mean it like that She thought guessing how Sam took her words. She had meant just hanging out as friends of course. Hadn't she? Of course. Though was that how Sam took it? Was he even comfortable with that aspect of two of them hanging out as friends. If so Toni would feel rather awful. Yet this Slytherin tried to push that out of her mind. So many things were filling it that she really didn't need to worry about someone as simple as that right now. If that even happened to be simple.

As her mind seemed to swirl with about everything thought, thoughts about Sam began to thin out. That helped in thinking about another topic yet it was random and it made Toni laugh slightly. Looking over at Sam she stopped laughing and finally spoke. "Guess who I'm sharing a dorm with?" She said finally wondering if he would guess it right off the bat. It wasn't a hard guess and Ava had probably already told Sam. Did he talk to his cousin? That Toni wasn't quite sure about. Either way it was something to hopefully get them both out of this odd silence and little glances.

Sam looked at Toni with slight confusion. He of coarse was glad that the topic was changed but how was he supposed to know who she shared a drom with, "I don't- oh no.." Sam said realising now that she mean't Ava. Toni- his best friend- was sharing a room with Ava. Sam shook his head, "......shes quite delightful isn't she?" Sam said sarcastically.

Sam hoped that Ava wouldn't say anything about him to Toni. She would do something as stupid as that. Did Sam mention Toni to Ava? "Whatever she says is most likely not true." Sam warned her. Sam realised that things weren't awkward just there. For that short moment things were normal. But now once he thought about it, he felt that awkardness again. Just say something.. he reminded himself, it seem to solve the problem. "Emm...so whats it like. I hope she not annoying you." Sam would be absoulotley mortified if she was annoying Toni.

Toni wasn't surprised that Sam guessed Ava right from the start, well after a slight confusion seemed to come to him. Really there were only two Slytherins that could have been the answer Ava or Hoshi and Toni would share a dorm with anyone else than with Hoshi. It wasn't that her and Hoshi had been at each other's throats lately, it was just that Toni hated her still. Both of them were just better at hiding it than at the start of first year.

"Sam she isn't horrible" Toni said not wanting to exactly get in the middle nor did she want to stand up for Ava. On the other than, Toni stood up for Sam that day in the dorms. Though when Sam made it clear that whatever Ava said was most likely not true, a small laugh escaped Toni's mouth. "Well she said she had heard all about me" Toni smirked as she nudged Sam playfully. "I hope that's a good thing though" Toni continued as she looked out over the lake.

When the silence came, luckily this time it only lasted a few seconds until Sam spoke. "It's fine. Other than the fact it's all first years in my dorm. She's not annoying me, but don't worry" Toni said looking over at Sam. "She will not become my best mate and start hanging out with us" Toni said still smiling as she thought about how that would really bother Sam if Ava started to tag along, though Toni couldn't really see Ava wanting to even be by Sam nonetheless hanging out with his friends.

Sam felt his cheeks burn, he couldn't believe that Ava said that to Toni. How would he recover from this? He came to the conclusion that it was done and said. He would get Ava for it another time. Instead he had to focus on the now and think of something to say. He looked over at Toni and gave an embarrassed grin. "I can't believe she said that." He said putting his face into one of his hands. "But...yeah..its a good thing." Sam said still into his hand, he didn't really know how he could say a bad thing about Toni.

"Really? Theres no second years?" Sam said quite shocked removing his face from his hand at last. Then again, he was sharing a dorm with Alex, a fifth year student. "Where are all your friends then?" he asked her, then turned to look out on the still lake. What she next said made Sam laugh. He had never thought of that. He would hate it for sure. Even just thinking about it made him want to shudder. "Believe me. The chances of her hanging around me are as good as me running on top of this water." He said with a playfulness to his english accent.

Sam clasped his hand around a small rock and threw it in the air, he caught it. He swung his arm back and let the rock slip out of his hand and onto the lake. It skimmered across the water causing small ripples to occur. It only bounced three or four times, "Looks like I've lost my touch." Sam said disappointedly and picked up another rock to try again.

Toni hadn't expected to actually embarrass Sam, really she had just been messing around. Seeing how embarrassed he was, Toni felt slightly bad for even mentioning it, though in a way she wanted to know if it was true, if Sam had talked about her. He probably talks about all his friends Toni thought mentally throwing thoughts like this out. If she admitted to herself that she wasn't anything but a friend to Sam, the conversation couldn't take an arkward turn could it?

"Well I guess I learn a lot of things about you from her now" Toni teased "But like you said whatever she says is probably not true" She continued doubting that Ava would talk about Sam or what Sam said. Not that it bothered Toni. It would be like Skye, Bailey or Madison telling Sam about Toni. Now that would be a bother. Maybe Toni could now understand where Sam was coming from and decided to drop the topic, for the most part.

Shaking her head slightly her blonde hair moving softly as her head moved. "Nope no second years. One first year named Daisy Harrison, then another girl named Rebecca Prince. I don't know if their is a relation, then Ava" Toni said looking over at Sam wondering if the girl named Rebecca was again related to him. What were the chances?

"Yeah she doesn't seem fond of you" Toni said shaking her head at the thought. Why someone would hate Sam was beyond her knowledge. Watching as Sam threw a rock into the water, and had the rock only skip three to four times. "Lost your touch?" Toni questioned "I can't even skip a rock once" She said letting out a small laugh when she thought back to her failed attempt at skipping rocks.

Sam nodded, glad that Toni understood that most of the things that Ava said about Sam were usually lies. He still couldn't believe that she had the nerve to share a dorm with Toni, knowing that Toni was his best friend. Maybe she didn't know? Sam questioned, Oh of coarse she knew! He continued to think. In a way Sam just wanted to blame her so he could give out to her.

Rebecca Prince? Sam thought, he automatically shook his head as nothing came to mind. "No- wait yes. Yeah shes my cousin?" Sam said drawing his eyebrows downwards. What was Rebecca doing here, in New Zealand? "Thats strange.." Sam said thinking out loud. He was never close with that part of the family, his uncle James. His father and James had an arguement and Sam never really got to know any one of Jame's children. Of coarse that worked as a plus for Sam. All the Prince's were the same.

"You poor thing." Sam said sympatheically, but with a playful look in his blue eyes. He patted her back. "If I was you I'd get out of there as quick as lightening." He laughed. Why did he have to have such a miserable excuse for a family?

Sam shrugged, "I could do better." He said finally realeasing the small rock in his hand and let it bounce on the water. He washed off any dirt on his hand from the rock in the water of the lake. Once his hands were out of the water he gave Toni a sly grin, he began to flick his wet hands at her spraying water droplets on her. He then looked away innocently and dried the rest of his hands in his jeans.

Toni couldn't help but let out a small laugh when Sam said Rebecca, another room mate to Toni, was his cousin. "Wow I'm meeting your whoe family. Anyone else I should know about before I randomly bump into them at lessons" Toni teased slightly wondering why Toni had now two Princes in her dorm. The chances were close to nothing yet it still happened. If Toni believed in all that dumb fate stuff, she would believe it so. Too bad Toni didn't believe in any of that stuff, not anymore anyway.

Sticking out her tongue at Sam when he patted her on the back. "I thought about it but hey dorms are limited and all the other ones are taken by people I really can't stand." She said still smiling though. really Toni didn't mind her dorm too much, but she wouldn't admit that aloud. In a way she felt like since Sam hated his family, she was supposed to as well.

Toni watched as Sam released another rock. She was tempted to try it but really she didn't want to make a fool of herself when the rock just sort of plopped into the water. As Sam washed his hands in the lake water, Toni was about to say that it was not the brightest idea because the water was not completely clean. Instead Sam began to splash droplets of water at her. "Oh that 's totally not nice" She said smiling a bit though she was trying to keep a straight face. "I will totally not sink to your level" She said her face facing the lake as she began to kick her feet a little more splashing a bit of water in Sam's direction. "Opps" She said turning to Sam her face entirely lit up with a smile.

Sam laughed, "No thankfully. I think you've met all of my family here." That would be enough that she would have to meet. Sam was embarassed to call them his family, just as his family were embarassed to call him family. Sam really couldn't care less what they thought of him. He had no respect for them and their opinons.

He nodded slowly as she said that the other dorms were taken with people she disliked. In the boys dorm it was a different matter, much of the dorms were empty due to the lack of male students in the school. "Isn't there supposed to be...I don't know..like a glamour squad or something in Slytherin?" Sam asked randomly. Pressuming they consumed a whole dorm.

Sam squinted as water was sprayed on him, "Very subtle!" he smirked and turn to look at Toni who had a glowing smile on his face. His heart leaped slightly, her smile made him smile. Wiping the goofy smile off his face he kicked his feet out of the lake splashing a lot more water on Toni. "I hope you didn't get wet." Sam said winking in her direction.

Toni smiled and nodded once when Sam said she had met all his family that was here. Really she hadn't expected to meet any of his relatives. In a way it was at least nice to met them. That way next time Sam went off talking about awful Ava was, Toni would know who she was.

Though as Sam mentioned the glam squad, Toni nodded her smile fading slightly. "Yes there is a Glam Squad who like like fashion icons" She explains in a way wishing she could as well be in such a group. Why wasn't she? Toni wasn't sure. Was it because she had chosen the group she was in now over them? Really Toni didn't have the choice, but if the choice was given to her would she do the same thing and stick with her group? Yes.

"Oh I'm just that good" Toni said referring to the water she had splashed Sam with. Though absentmindly she moved her sitting position a few centimeters away from the lake just in case she fell in or worse. "Ah" Toni managed to say as she seemed to be bombarded by water. Looking over at Sam, Toni began to pat her hair. "Watch it or I'll push you in" Toni teased.

"Oh." Sam said, not really showing too much interest in the 'glam squad'. Ava would probably get into that. He thought it was a bit silly but decided not to dwell on it. He didn't see why there had to be certain clicks. This 'glam squad' were just creating such clicks.

Sam laughed as she said she'd push him in. Though then an idea struck him. He was about to push Toni in but thought that was too mean, instead he got up, he took off his shirt and dived into the water. He was under the water for a couple of minutes, while underneath the water he grabbed hold off one of Toni's toes and squeezed it jokingly. He reserfaced and shook his head vigourously. "No need to push me." he smirked up at her.

"I'm guessing I'm going to have to drag you in." Sam said to her playfully rolling his eyes. He ran his hand through his wet- now straight-hair and shook it again making sure to get some water on Toni. "So whats it gunna be? Gracefully diving? Or a good old dragging?" He tried to hold back his laughter but couldn't instead he just gave her a warm smile.

Toni pushed the thoughts of the glam squad out of her head. What was the point of thinking about something that wasn't going to or even meant to happen? Actually Toni seemed to think of things like that more than often. Yet something as little as the glam squad was easily forgotten.

This Slytherin was rather surprised when Sam stood up and took his shirt off. Glancing back at him for a moment her heart skipped a bit. Luckily she regained a normal heart beat when Sam dived into the dirty water.

Looking around almost in a worried fashion as to where Sam was, Toni's eyes were all over the lake. About to stand up and get a better look when she felt something grab ahold of her toe. "Oh" She said surprised as she brought her feet up out of the water. Of course it was Sam.

"I can't believe you just jumped into that water" Toni said shaking her head. Though in a way she wasn't surprised at all. At the sound of dragging in, Toni made her way a few inches away from the lake still in a sitting position for once not really worried about the grass stains that might have just appeared on her outfit.

"You know I don't like that water" She said knowing that she sounded like some stuck up brat but that water was gross and disgusting. "Plus there are mermaids" She added laughing a few moments after at how stupid that last part sounded. She was probably the only Slytherin no the only student in this school that was more afraid of the mermaids than anything else that was living in the murky lake waters.

Running her hand through her hair, she smiled at Sam. "I guess you jumped in for nothing cause I'm not going in" She said knowing he wouldn't pull her in or at least she hoped she knew this fact. How much longer would Sam stay in the water though? Would Toni finally cave and jump into the water that for a whole year she had managed to not go in, willingly at least?

Sam swam closer with a playful smile on his face as Toni moved away from the edge of the lake. He rested his hands on the edge of the lake and looked up at Toni. "You just don't like it because last time you were dragged in." Sam said shrugging as if this happened to him everyday. "Oh yeah, lots of mermaids!" Sam said sarcastically. "Can you see any?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow. "Wait I'll check for you." He said with a wink and stuck his head under the water.

"Clear." He said once he resurfaced. Sam resumed his position on the lakes edge. "Toni come on!" Sam said pleadingly, "Its great....and you'll never no this cause you had a bad expierience last time. I'm here now. I'll fight off any old mermaid that comes are way. Which they won't by the way." Sam said quite seriously but with a signature smile tagged on the end.

Sam knew that he had his work cut out for him with Toni but he wasn't going anywhere unless she went into the water. Wheter she feared for her outfit or wheter it was just her fear of the mermaids, he knew it would take some more persuasion. "Please." he said giving her his puppy eyes. He held back his smile that was eager to spread onto to his face.

Toni already knew in the back of her mind if Sam continued to ask her she would finally cave. Even if Toni really hated the water, for many different reasons, she feared now that she was going to jump in. Just hold out a bit longer and maybe he will give in before you do Toni thought.

She couldn't help but laugh when Sam checked for mermaids. "You promise you will fight them all off" Toni said her voice teasing though really it had an air that she was already caving in. Not exactly ready to jump right in quite yet though. It would take a bit more.

Though when he gave puppy dog eyes her face spread into a huge smile. "That's not fair. I'm the only one allow to do puppy dog eyes" Toni said knowing how well she did them herself never having them placed in her direction ever. Well except that one time, Amanda had used the puppy dog face on her Toni, but that was it. Even back then Toni crumbled.

"Ahh" She said shaking her head at Sam as she stood up and took a step closer to the water. "Do I have to jump in or can I step in?" She asked as she put her hair up into a messy bun with the hair tie that happened to be on her wrist. God I can't believe I am even considering this She thought wondering why on earth she was. It was totally not something Toni would normally do.

"I promise." Sam said nodding his head sincerly with a quirky grin. He didn't know how he would as he didn't have his wand, but he'd get to that later. There didn't seem to be any mermaids near them, so there was nothing to be worried about.

"Ha! Gotcha!" Sam had never used puppy dog eyes, never really needed to use them and he didn't really know how. But he must have been doing something right if Toni finally caved and decided that she would go into the lake. He beamed up at her. "Alright." He pushed himself away from the edge of the lake for Toni to get in.

Sam floated on his back in the water as Toni asked a question he then turned himself upright and began to thread the water. "Well, I mean..if your going to get in you may aswell face all of your fears. Your going to love it. I promise. And if you don't well...then you have my permission to hurt me." He said laughing. He knew that she would get some adrenline rush that would make her like it. Well at least he hoped she would get a buzz if she didn't, he was a dead man.

Toni rolled her eyes at Sam when he seemed proud of himself that she was finally caving in. "You are just lucky I'm in a good mood today" Toni said not knowing if that was even true. Really she wasn't in the best mood before Sam showed up. Now the mood went from lonely and upset to happy to arkward to happy once more.

Though Toni wasn't very happy about jumping into the dirty lake water in the outfit she was in. Just do it she thought making sure her hair was up in the messy bun. Reaching down on her wrist she noticed her prized bracelet was on her wrist that Beau had given her. Looking down at it she carefully undid the clasp and placing it a little bit away from the lake carefully.

Forget it She thought giving the bracelet one last look before she turned to Sam. "I will kill you if a mermaid or something worse shows up" Toni said laughing but seriously Sam wouldn't be safe if this was as gross as she expected.

Closing her eyes, she jumped into the air. The cold water soon rushed over her and the hair tie fell right out of her hair. Swimming up to the surface, Toni opened her eyes wiping the water away from her face as she began to tread water. "Sam it's freezing" She said. Deep inside though there was a part of her that was proud she had made it into the lake. Her eyes gazed around. No mermaids.

Sam's eyes rolled slightly- playfully - as Toni took off her bracelet. That was a typical 'Toni' thing to do, to take off her jewellery before jumping into the lake. Sam laughed, "Alright, alright, you have my permission to kill me." Sam said casually and swam away for Toni to jump.

He couldn't help but be surprised when she jumped in. Inside, he didn't think she would do it. "Well what were you expecting it to be?" He asked with a soft chuckle as she said it was freezing and swam over to her. His lips formed into a wide smile, "You did it!" He said as he began to thread the water opposite her. "How does it feel..eh?" He asked with a mischeivous grin.

Sam couldn't believe he was here in the lake with Toni. Something he never expected to happen EVER! But it did and he was going to savour every minute of it. Seeing as he was quite close to her that awkwardness began to come back so he moved back a little, not wanting to make it obvious. "No mermaids. Wasn't I right?" It was the first thing that came into his head, yes it was lame. But it put his mind of that feeling he was getting.

Toni could tell that Sam was surprised she had jumped in. Of course he was, Toni herself was slightly surprised. "I was expecting it to be at least decent" Toni said as she continued to tread water, wondering what people would think to see Toni Addison in dirty lake water swimming.

"Yeah I did it" Toni said smiling slightly as she notice Sam treading water right near her. A better smile fell on her face for a moment. She tilted her head slightly into the water getting the top of her head wet hopefully preventing her hair from frizzing. Her outfit was now complete soaked. "It's odd" She said when Sam asked how it felt. "I mean me in the lake who would have guessed" she added with a small laugh shaking her head slightly not quite believing it herself.

"And I don't see any mermaids so you are safe" She paused "For now of course" She adding a slight teasing in her voice as she noticed Sam swim away just a slight bit. "So there is no slide, diving board, or whatever. What do you do in a lake?" She asked knowing that in the pool she could do laps, practice her diving, go down the water slide, and so much more. What would she do in the lake? Toni just didn't know.

"Yeah it really is odd you being in a lake. I never thought I'd see the day." Sam teased, though it was the truth. He didn't ever think he could persuade her. "I can't wait to tell everyone." he winked playfully. He probably wouldn't tell anyone apart from Scorpius...maybe. If Toni didn't want it to be heard then he'd keep his mouth shut.

Sam shook his head in amazement at Toni's question. She was in for less than a minute and was already asking what to do in a lake. "Well..." Sam said with a cheeky grin, "Theres this!" Sam said splashing water at her, "And this..!" He said jumping over and pushing her head under water for less than a couple of seconds then took his hand away.

Instantly Sam swam away, but not too far, he still wanted to be able to see Toni's facial expression. He thought that he would be killed for making her come into the lake but now that he just pushed her head under water he knew he was a dead man.

Toni smiled slightly as she continued to tread water trying not to think about the fact that it was dirty water her body was treading in. At the sound of Sam telling everyone, her mouth opened slightly. "You wouldn't" She said looking around this time not for mermaids but for people, other students. "I mean you can't" Toni repeated a hint of worry in her voice. Appearances were close to everything for Toni. Having Sam tell everyone that she had jumped almost willingly into a dirty lake fully dressed with her hair all over the place, gave Toni the shivers.

Yet when Sam shook his head as Toni's question, she felt sort of bad. How was she supossed to know what to do in a lake. Last time she was pulled into the lake she was fighting for her life. Now she was in there as close to fine as this stylish slytherin could be, and cluess as to what to do. Hoping that Sam was going to give her some idea, she was taken off guard when he splashed her. "you just do not..." she said not being able to finish her statement when Sam pushed her under the water if only for a minute.

Coming up to the surface, Toni let out a small cough as she went to fix her hair her face almost in utter shock. "I can't believe you" She said a small smile seeming to fall on her face. "You are so dead" She said swimming at full speed towards Sam. After a whole summer of swimming laps and racing with Skye and Amanda, Toni had gotten rather good a speed swimming. "So dead" Toni repeated as she jumped a little bit grabbing Sam's shoulders and attempted to push him under the water, with little success.

"Chill your highness. I won't tell anyone." he said with a playful wink, but he wasn't joking. He wouldn't tell anyone about this, only because Toni didn't want him to. He wasn't surprised that she didn't want anyone to know, it was Toni afterall. But that was what made Toni, Toni. Sam liked her just as she was.

"Hell, you can swim!" Sam said shocked and turned to swim away but she soon caught up on him and her hands were on his shoulders trying to push him down with no luck. "Why Toni, who knew you were this strong?" He said sarcastically with a little laugh. He then took the opportunity of Toni's hands on his shoulders and grabbed her legs put them around his waist, he dragged her down with him.

Resurfacing he spluttered a bit, he wasn't the most graceful person resurfacing from water there was lots of coughing involved. He let her go from the 'piggy-back' position and laughed. "You have to admit. You're having fun?" Sam said with cheeky grin turning himself towards her.

"Well thank you" Toni said laughing a bit as Sam called her 'your highness'. Though she was more relieved that he wouldn't tell a soul. Hopefully Sam understood why. Yet Toni had a feeling that he understood completely why she wouldn't want anyone to know. Toni had an image to save, so far she had made it pretty much all the first year and now going onto second year without wrecking that image.

Smiling as she saw the shock in Sam's face about her swimming abilities. "Oh shut up. I'm strong" She said knowing quite well that she wasn't the strongest in the world. Not doubt that anyone thought she was strong and Toni felt no need to be any stronger than she was. About to say something else she was, before Sam grabbed her legs and pulled them around him. Oh god She thought closing her eyes and holding her breathe as he dragged her down with him under the water.

Again coughing a bit when she came to the surface. "I think I just got lake water in my mouth" She said usually she would stick her tongue out at Sam, but since she as a little bit afraid to get more water into her mouth she decided against it. "If I die of some pond water disease you are going to feel sooo guilty" Toni said shaking her head slightly when she saw his cheeky grin.

"I don't have to admit anything" She said turning her head slightly to keep her gaze off Sam for a moment. "But yes it's not as bad as I thought" She said her eyes flickering back towards Sam's direction. Quickly she splashed a bit of water in his direction. "But watch you're back from now on. Gosh making me go under water twice you must have a death wish" She said laughing a bit.
