Celia really tried to limit the amount of time she spent in New Zealand during the breaks, but the need to get supplies for the upcoming school year complicated things. It was easy enough to buy potions ingredients and divination tools in Hanoi. The problem was finding books. Thankfully, she had learned of an alternative to Flourish and Blotts that was said to have an extensive selection of books on more advanced magical subjects, in addition to the usual titles. Hogwarts' own collection was pretty pathetic, and Celia hoped she could pick up something interesting today.
It didn't take much wandering among the store's serpentine shelves for Celia to realize just how pitiful Hogwarts' collection was. There were entire sections here dedicated to branches of magic that her professors had never even mentioned. She'd already plucked a couple books on elemental fire magic and divination and was currently flipping through a text on memory charms. They'd technically learned how to brew forgetfulness potions in class, but those were rather crude. An advanced charm could eliminate specific memories or, even better, implant false ones. As Celia read, she noticed someone approaching out of her peripheral vision and moved to allow them to pass. In doing so, she realized she knew this person. Celia looked up from her book and did a double-take. "Sydney?"
